Batman2412: 220k got me one 200w solar panel, 3A charge controller, one 100Ah battery, and one 1,500w inverter last month. I rarely use grid. And it's serving me well day in day out. I live alone though so my loads are 1 laptop, two 5w bulbs, phones, subwoofer, 16in rechargeable fans, 32in LED TV and fridge(when voltage is between 13.6V-14.6V in the day) What make is it? |

Recommendation: Even though costly 1. Two Deep cycle Batteries of at least 200AH capacity 2. Three to Four Solar panels 3. Charge controllers rated for the four panels with a power not less that 1200W 4. Inverter (Sine Wave) of at least 1500W (Much higher is better) Less is a waste of investment

Drella: So I bought a Cafini inverter that can be charged with solar panels and also AC power. It has radio, led light and 12V 5W bulbs(4 bulbs) The panel is 18V 30W(1 panel). The inverter output is 220V 150W. The battery capacity is 12V 12AH Lead-acid battery.
I started using it by plugging my laptop(65W) to it. Within 40 minutes, it ran down from 100 to 0. I unplugged the laptop and plugged my power bank to it. I also plugged one of its bulbs to it. It finally died after a little over 2hrs of it being on 0.
I charged it with AC power and plugged my OX fan(95W) to it alone. The fan was struggling on level 1 and was making sound, I had to disconnect it.
The seller said that’s the capacity of the battery and it is normal. If I wan’t it to last a longer duration, I should buy a external battery of a higher capacity.
Please with what I observed, is the draining normal? The battery percentage was draining by just switching on the inverter and not plugging anything to it.

Yes bro, even with a budget solar set up you can still enjoy electricity, mistake you made you should have gotten proper knowledge of solar system before you venture into, you for nor waste this money, my set up will be 2years by march 2025, I bought luminous tabular 220ah battery 164k Foresolar 1.5kva 12v inverter 90k Felicity controller 60amps 105k Three 400watt panel at 85k each Wire abt 60k This is 12v 1.5kva setup and it powers my washing machine, my refrigerator , TV , dc fan and blender the only tin it can't power is my borehole and hotplate.i spend 500k plus one of the best decision I took b4 they remove fuel subsidy, I even they regret say I nor buy solar submersible pump then wen it was cheap compare to the price now.. Different types of batteries are fit for different purposes. He can get a dry cell depending on what purpose he is using it for. Better to make proper research before buying solar to avoid frustration. |
