220k got me one 200w solar panel, 3A charge controller, one 100Ah battery, and one 1,500w inverter last month. I rarely use grid. And it's serving me well day in day out. I live alone though so my loads are 1 laptop, two 5w bulbs, phones, subwoofer, 16in rechargeable fans, 32in LED TV and fridge(when voltage is between 13.6V-14.6V in the day)

I use solar panels and inverter without electricity for over a month. You can't on what you put on in the day overnight. It would drain the batteries. So put off appliances latest 4, 5, 6pm and use bulbs and rechargeable standing fan overnight.

How do you figure?? Different types of batteries are fit for different purposes. He can get a dry cell depending on what purpose he is using it for. Better to make proper research before buying solar to avoid frustration.

Dry cells are waste of money for our climate. The lifespan is much short. I recommend tubular batteries if one cannot afford LiPo batteries

Now, I have to augment this one as I’m currently not financially buoyant.
How can I enhance this to allow me charge my laptop? What capacity of external battery should I get? How about the solar panel?

I didn't want to tell him the truth. This is a toy inverter like a toy car can't carry anything to anywhere. I would advise minimum of 3kva for anyone that wants an inverter for home with at least two big batteries. For shop or office, minimum of one big battery to be used from 10am to 4pm is okay for bulb, fan preferably standing fan and charging of phones, POS etc.

I have 15 batteries 220Ah capacity with a 10kva inverter. The batteries are charged by electricity.

Please how many 250 watts solar panels can power this inverter. I'm planning to disconnect PHCN because it's consuming too much Units while charging the batteries.

You sure have a lot of batteries and it is enough to go offline as long as you don't get too ambitious with power usage by trying to connect your Air-conditioners (these are power gusslers)

Short Answer
Recommended minimum number of panels per battery= TWO 300W panels or ONE 550W panel.

It doesn't hurt a bit to use more if you can afford it. It is actually advantageous as it will make the lifespan of your batteries long

So, For your 15 batteries, that should be a minimum of 30 panels.

This implies that during the day, you can theoretically maximise your inverter power with reduced load during the night. 9,900W

As long as your average load consumption is not greater than 1.5kWH you should be good.

Note:
You don't want to stress your batteries too much because it will shorten the lifespan.

You will be able to do most heavy duty activities from Electronics, Lightings, Ironing to washing machine BUT not Air-conditioners. It will kill your batteries with time except you run it only during the day.

The quotation I gave will power a Freezer During the DAY (9am to 4pm) everyday.

If you need a 24 Hour power for your freezer, then you will double the number of batteries and triple the number of panels
