Everyone does at least one thing for nation by paying taxes... everyone pays VAT, nobody escapes VAT as long as u buy something...

Millions of pple that have salary jobs pay PAYE tax, an many other taxes, so nor come here dey ask wetin Nigerians dey do for naija....
Some few pple who call themselves government sit down and selfishly eat money meant for masses , securing the future of themselves and their children with revenue that's supposed to touch every body ....u are now asking nigerians that are not asking for much than just to survive,,what have they done for Nigeria??....be like say u dey ment!!!

You talk to the average Nigerian youth today, and it's absolutely tragic. I cringe whenever I try to talk to guys under 35. 90% can't string together two sentences fluently without resorting to pidgin. It tells you that universities may be plenty but truly educated people are so few. So when I read his post, I got a clear picture of the type of person he is likely to be and just shook my head. Wouldn't even have bothered to respond but for your comment.

Pidgin English is one of our languages. There is no harm in speaking it.

English being our official language should be spoken in official settings at least. You will only have a point if 90% of those under 35 speak pidgin even in official settings.

What you are saying is like asking an abandoned child what he has done for his poor father, shouting at the child why he decided to disown and abandoned the sick dad.

Na person wey dem train well, show love to, cared and provided for, go fit return the favour. It is not the other way around. There are processes in life, and a father training the child comes before the child training the father.

Nigeria have to do something for the citizens, so the citizens can return the favour. This is why properous countries for example have social benefits that the poorest of the poor can still live with dignity.

Until the poor pick up, pay tax, and help the system that helped him at his lowest. Its a circle, and one must come before other.

You point would have make sense if you are talking to Davido or DJ Cuppy, because Nigeria has blessed them, and they dare not complain.

Take your time

I understand you probably havent been out there, and just wrote those countries out of media impression.

As someone that have been to almost all the mentioned countries, its better you look for a good African country and go there than go to the UK.

If you have no skills and only depend on your muscle to make money, then you might compound your suffering. If you do muscle jobs (cleaning, dishwashing, caregiver etc), you might come to hate life.

The top feel much better than the bottom, and its better to be top in Nigeria, then bottom in oversea.

You just wrote trash. Shut the furk up.

If you dey any of the above countries, you don't know what God has done for you. People are suffering in Nigeria. Don't be deceived by all those guys commending this administration.. they are not based in Nigeria.

As a Nigerian, Life is already winning you by 1:0, then if you come poor, that's 2:0 by default. Imagine how many clubs fit do come back at 2:0.. it happens once in a while. There's a high possibility that Chelsea won't replicate such success till the end of this season. JAPA NOW

Just this morning them don cut our yard light cos nobody gree bring money despite we do have steady light o.. but wetin concern me I get strong battery and power bank.. if my pb off I go bet9ja go charge.. I dropped out of school cos.no body to help..I'm just doing my best.. even if i kpai from hunger tomorrow, heaven knows that I tried my best. The country is in ruins. $10,000 is over #15,000,000 (15 million naira)

Nigerian men and women (single or married) relocate now with immediate effect. Nothing fit work for this country. I no go talk am again o

A nation without light can never prosper. Run now. I can't complain enough. Leave now.

I'll be back. Make I go finish proofreading this book . The book say dey vex me... Proofreading no be easy work o. Brb wink

Why re you giving a blanket statement that people are suffering in Nigeria? It depends on who you ask. The response can never be the same.

Are there not poor people in the countries you mentioned? Stop falling into an error of generaliszation. When you are there you will realise reality is different from Hollywood movie.

People are still building beautiful houses in Nigeria. People are still buying latest cars. People have booked some halls for event till august 2025. And they are not politicians. Yet, you tagged them all as poor.

You can encourage people to japa without putting a whole country inside a box. Migration is anyone right which can be activated but if you are not doing well in Nigeria doesn’t mean others are not doing well.

More so a lizard in Nigeria can’t become crocodile abroad.

Here we go again!
You are talking about a nation with "disasters" and "calamities" as leaders. A nation teeming with youths that are ready to contribute their quota to nation building. A land blessed with arable land and mineral resources. A land grossly mismanaged by rapacious, greedy and clanish leaders. That's the land we are talking about friend.

Your premise differs from mine. My point is about the country in question, not the language they speak there. If the OP have permanent residency in lets say Norway, and UK, he will achieve more in Norway than the UK.

UK is just a third world country attached to London. Outside London (which is unaffordable anyway for a starter), UK is really broke. I am referring to the UK of today, 2024, not twenty years ago.

Go to reddit and youtube and see Brits complaining bitterly, and thousands moving away, even recent immigrants.

I understand the UK is one step ahead Nigeria, but if one has to choose, and if prosperity is non-negotiable, then UK should be off the table.

If you want me to paste painful statistics about present day UK, I will. Yes, it is that bad. UK should be off the table.

Well in as much you not in the UK, you will continue with this propaganda. I have stayed in the UK for just 2 and half years and what I have been able to achieve, I can’t in Nigeria for 9years. It displeased me when people that haven’t been somewhere would be discouraging people not to go. Well best of luck to people who diligently study places and plan towards moving. Peace

My friend don't be deceived because you see your old friends snapping pictures with the snow background, the Japa people always look happy in the pictures but do you know what they face behind the scene?

The society out is good but not everyone that Japa that breakthrough

Many Japa are struggling for the past 4/5 yrs they've been there. Some don't want to come back home because of shame while some are still pushing hopefully one day sun will smile at them.

Some are working just to meet up with their needs and to pay taxes

While some are struggling to pay rent over there some of their mates are already landlords here

What OP is saying is 100% true. I came of age and just realized our parents were shielding us from poverty. More of a cosmetic approach. They struggle to pay fees, struggle to buy clothes for Xmas, worse off, if you have any medical ailment that passes paracetamol and anti malaria, you had better start praying. The poverty in Nigeria is multidimensional. You win one aspect, 200 show up. As a man, eventually you get married to another poor fellow, just Know that you have adopted another orphanage. The truth should be told from day 1. Kids must know they come from nothing and do all that is within their means to break the ginx.

The outcome is the same, their protests also lead to nothing. People in the industrialized world protested in 2008 and things have gotten worse since then - inequality is greater, the cost of living higher.
