The insurgency is far deeper than we think and it has government and politicians written all over it. Why is it that during elections you will never hear insurgency? The same Anambra after Lagos is the state with the highest population density per square meter. The same Anambra has military checkpoint in every 20m. The same state has all state, federal and local government infrastructures and offices heavily guarded with military men stationed at the entrance and exits. Based on this you ask yourself how is it possible that there is insurgency in a state with high population density which limit the advantage of speed and also a state that is highly militarised. In you stupidity you are not asking these questions. Anytime they attack all those soldiers guarding these installation and facilities are conveniently missing in action.

Are you aware that during President Buhari there was peace in south east but the army still brought PYTHON DANCE 1,2,3,4 then the north east was on fire with boko haram menace but such army exercises were never held there.
IPOB was never violent until the army went to rearrest Nnamdi Kanu when he was on bail.That operation led to the killing of many of his ardent followers.The Nigeria press never reported the killings.The episode led to the fleeing of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The killer Fulani herdsmen were killing and maiming many farmers in the south east and the police and army never did anything to stop such criminal activities until the masses came up with ECN. The body were confronting the killer herdsmen that the Buhari administration never had the courage to confront.Then the army started going after the ECN people then leaving the herdsmen.Local vigilantes were formed and again FG through the DPOs mandated everyone including the vigilantes to submit all their firearms to the police.The vigilantes use mostly pump action guns but we use to see herdsmen with assault rifles like AK45/47.
With the kidnapping,arrest and incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,the court has discharged him but why should FG not obey the court orders? Let’s ask questions on the root cause of the security crisis in the South East.
Government primary duty is to protect life and properties of its citizens.What is the FG doing about security ?
Most of the security breaches in Anambra state came from neighboring IMO State.APC with their Supreme Court abracadabra complicated issues in south east.Questions need to be asked the people in authority.

Awka—Non-indigenes residing in Anambra State have raised concerns over escalating insecurity, declaring 15 out of the state’s 21 local government areas (LGAs) as unsafe.

Speaking through their chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Sani, and secretary, Chief Adebayo Adewusi, the group called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to declare a state of emergency in the affected areas.

They expressed particular worry about the deteriorating security situation in Onitsha, once considered relatively safe, which has recently come under attack by kidnappers and other criminals.

The group highlighted the alarming situation where even prominent individuals are targeted. For instance, the retired Anglican Archbishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Godwin Okpala, abducted in Ezinifite, Aguata LGA, has remained in captivity for almost a week.

The group identified several “no-go” areas across different LGAs:

Orumba Area: Ogbunka, Umunze, Ajali.

Aguata LGA: Ezinifite, Uga, Umuchu.

Ogbaru LGA: Ogbe-Ukwu near Iyiowa, Okoti, Ogwuaniocha, Ossomalla, Atani.

Ihiala LGA: Ihiala town, Mbosi, Azia, Uli, Amorka, parts of Okija.

Nnewi South LGA: Ukpor, Osumenyi, and surrounding areas.

Awka North LGA: Achalla, Mgbakwu, and nearby communities.

Awka South LGA: Noted for thriving cult activities.

Oyi LGA: Nsugbe, Nkwelle, and nearby communities.

Onitsha North and South LGAs: Fegge, Odoakpu, 3-3.

Idemili North and South LGAs: Abatete, Nkpor, Ogidi, Obosi, Oba, Ojoto.

Ekwusigo LGA: Ozubulu, Oraifite.

The group urged the state government to create joint security teams comprising the Armed Forces, Police, Civil Defence, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG).

“These agencies can eliminate the criminals if adequately equipped and motivated with insurance coverage and logistical support,” the group stated.

They further emphasized the urgency of addressing the insecurity before the festive season, noting that “if the governor wants Anambra people to return and enjoy Christmas, action must be taken immediately.”

The call for proactive measures underscores the rising tensions in the state, as residents fear for their safety and demand decisive action to restore peace and security.

This is a vivid reminder of the massive insecurity (consisting of armed robberies, gang rapes during robberies and kidnappings, kidnappings for ransom, and outright assassinationd) in Anambra State back in the 1990s and 2000s which led to many Anambra State indigenes to NOT visit their villages for the end of year holidays. That is the period and reason why they started doing the new yam festival the national stadium in Lagos, and other states outside the South East. [/b] Because these greedy criminals who were Igbos from Anambra were kidnapping the village-based elderly and non-elderly relatives of Igbo people based in Lagos and other states who had to pay heavy ransoms in Anambra back then, there was also a noticeable upswing in the movement of Igbos (who were relocated by their relatives living in Lagos, PH, Abuja or elsewhere) from the South East to live in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan, Asaba, etc, and they started leasing lands for building houses in Lagos and other areas due to the massive surge in the insecurities, kidnappings for ransom and even luxury bus robberies where several travellers from the East were shot to death in one instance around the Onitsha area while traveling to Lagos. I remember newspaper reports of up to 70 millionaires who had been kidnapped for ransom within one month and they cried out for police protection.[/b]

The current Governor Alex Oti also gave a newspaper interview almost 10 years ago while campaigning under APGA where he said because of the massive kidnappings by identified indigenes of Abia and vicious armed robberies in Aba and the rest of Abia State in the 2000s to the 2010s, his friend had to close down his factory in Aba and relocated to Lagos for better security. This coincided with former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji-Fasola's tenure where there was heavy investments in equipping the elite Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for effective security.

Soludo should reach out to Alex Oti and see what security ideas they can share with one another on the resurgent kidnappings in Anambra. The Bakassi Boys that was introduced decades back was subsequently abused and media reports indicated that people were locked up in underground dungeons or detention camps by them in Anambra State. One of the girlfriends of a wanted suspect was detained because the boyfriend escaped and she was subsequently sexually assaulted and got pregnant in that sale dungeon. The Anambra State government had to eventually disband the Bakassi Boys due to the abused they committed even though they seemed to have been effective as a stop-gap measure in Abia and Anambra.

A more modern, technological method based on human intelligence gathering have to be implemented NOT just in Anambra or Abia, but all over Nigeria States to minimize or totally eradicate these heinous crimes. Period.

Wasn't Simon Ekpa arrested? The presumption has always been that he remotely perpetrates acts of insecurity from Finland. So if they could apprehend him, the morale of his agents would be depleted. It appears not to be the case, I suppose
