With time they get understood grin grin grin
Like today it is clear delisting is out of the window after a long period of permutations and bettings.

My joy in this whole thing is that Wale said that he isn't delisting Oando...

In the days ahead Mr Time will do the needful?

WALE should go and sin no more?

Wale has also tried by ensuring that Oando is now compliant and up-to-date as regards NGX/SEC requirements for filing of quarterly results. Hopefully, we should have the unaudited accounts for Q4 2024 by Mar/Apr 2025 and the audited version by Jun 2025.

Wale should push the Auditors and Accountants to do better and not lag too much behind SEPLAT and ARADEL in reporting. In this new beginning no no to delayed reporting. If Seplat Audited comes in March. Oando should deliver its own latest April and not June please.

Like play, like play, Wale seems to be winning our hearts gradually, one by one.
I said it sometime ago, that Wale would be careful to have some good reputation in the eye of the public, at least Oando shareholders.
It would be too bad for him to have a very bad reputation at a time when his uncle too is having a very terrible reputation as T-Pain, with all the backlash because of the common surname, Tinubu!

Yeah I noticed that too. Which is one of the reasons I feel he has repented?

Win-win ke? If I owe you $1 million, and instead I offer to pay you either a) $1 million in cash, or b) $1 million equivalent in Oando shares at today's valuation (as bonus shares, which are dilutive) which option would you choose?

How is this even legal?
robobo:

Ohhh ok. Thank you very much.

It is much clearer now. O & O wants to settle some of its debt with part of their holdings in Oando then those shares would be distributed to other shareholders

A very ingenious and creative scheme.

If O & O bought those shares in the days of sub 10/20 ( which i very much suspect) then its a win win for all sides, i.e. O &O, minority holders and the coy (Oando) itself. The losers are those shareholders that O & O bought from, because technical it is the gain they couldn't wait to collect that is being shared by all other parties.

Lasaco is undervalued relative to the PE of the sector.
Hopefully, Mr. Time will do the needful sooner than later.

essentialone1:

Is Lasaco about to rally high like Sunu Assurance? It is presently at N2.80.

We watch and wait...

Would you prefer they write off the debts and incur a huge loss in the P&L which would not be of any benefit to shareholders?
Apparently, the debtors have been unable to pay.

What is being proposed by Oando is a compromise which could work to shareholders' advantage if the forfeited shares are appropriately valued and the share price on the NGX rise after the redistribution .
Whether it is legal or not may also depend on the nature and terms of the original transaction between the related parties e.g. if the loan was given for the purchase of the shares etc

Most people (and media houses) just compare the percent difference between the current year quarterly profits (Q3 2024; N76b) and prior year profits (Q3 2023; N110b), and take their investment decisions based on the 44.7% drop.
They hardly take time to go through other details.
Good observation!!

The manager is talking about it now.....

GeeKudi:
I am not sure where they got that from.

A motion was moved and adopted for five days notification for qualification/distribution of the bonus shares. In the process of reading out the amendment, it was read as "bonus shares or money equivalent", what I consider as mere semantics or legal jagon.
[quote author=Princkez post=133333050]seems there will be bonus issue

GeeKudi:
Bonus but no words yet on the ratio

yMcy56:

Wale now talking/replying on some of the questions......
OANDO's future is very bright once all obstacles are off the way......
No intention to go private.....
The worst is over, OANDO is going to do great things....
Production is increasing, market cap increasing and the trend will continue....
Acquisition of NAOC sealed
"We have enough reserve to give Nigeria gas for the next 75yrs"
All rumours circulating are false, the shareholders will benefit from the company, the company intends to do well.
Thanks for the selfless updates as well as others whom I didn't mention.
much appreciated.🙏

Please can anyone verify this for me:

I did some rough estimates of the possible ratio for the bonus redistribution by Oando, based on the numbers provided above i.e. current 42% common shareholders to increase to about 65% after the exercise.

It seems the bonus could be in the ratio 1:2 (i.e. 1 new share for every two shares previously held).

Please the finance and mathematics gurus should help confirm

Plz what's the exact day/date for the closure of register for the shares distribution?

CAPITAL NO!!
These are existing shares of the company being held by a company which is indebted to OANDO. The debtor is giving up its shares as payment for the debt. There is no new shares being created.

Mpeace:
Are you saying that they will not create additional shares for that purpose? If yes, then thats awesome for oando shareholders

Betnaija stock agm has come and gone.
I don't need further validation from anyone to tell me about onado. The truth is onado has turned the bend for the better for now unless I see contrary body language from wale

Then the 9 months results of 2024 is far better than that of 2023.The retained earnings is improving unlike what I saw in some companies here with problem.Thia means the revenue is coming though cost is really eating into it.If you look more into the 2023 results you will see that exchange loss took out the 110 billion plus gain which will likely not be the case for 2024 results. Infact it will be a plus for the 3 month and 9 months results depending what rate they will adopt.
The bonus idea is good as it is not diluting existing shares as thr will be no creating of new shares. If thr would be new shares it would have been discussed and approved at the agm.The guys owing would have to let go of some of thr holdings in onado shares for debt payments. Though they could have sold them off to pay.I believe the management don't want that because it could crash the price of oando in the market because of excessive supply.
My opinion if you ever see Betnaija stock at #60 and below. It is a buy for long time. The 2025 results of oando will hit the roof all things being peaceful as per security in the delta and price in the international market remains good.
Anybody is good to have different view on oando but it will never change the present reality. Oando has turned the bend and is no long a bet to me.I work with street things and FA.I will definitely buy more oando if I have the fund and see it at this my new junction because I am always a long time investor. I only saw bet when I went into oando. Thr is now fundamental which is rapidly improving if you forget other results and concentrate on the last 3 months results. If the reclassification happens the 3 months will be in 30 plus which I expect to happen and not just the 13 plus thr.

I am finally done with oando wahala till wale body language changes again

It was said at the meeting that the new shareholding ratio will be 35:65 major shareholder to other shareholders.

As for the final sharing ratio of the distribution, you just need to wait for official communication from the company.

For me the question I have now is whether the adopted amendment to that resolution has effectively shifted the qualification date for the share distribution and a new date would be announced?

If so, na to go borrow money this night and start another round of accumulation tomorrow grin grin grin

The next stock to look out for in 2025 if you are done with wale for 2024 is transcorp plc.The reconstruction to 10b OS effect will be massive. Don't come chasing it when it start moving. I do pick transcorp plc over the power because it can easily deliver 100% than the power at present price for both
