prinzedy: I don't know if they are in his pocket, but opposition Governors particularly across Southern Nigeria who want to go for 2nd term in 2027 may well feel they need to play it safe with the President. They will have seen what happened in 2023 Rivers election, and more recently in Edo and Ondo elections. If your own too much, you can be defeated at the next election. How can PDP governors openly support APC? There is so much indiscipline in PDP. Can this party wrestle APC in 2027? Even funds for campaigns may not be available. For example, all the south-south governors, except Duoye Diri are in their first term. If a northerner gets the PDP ticket in 2027, he may not get a southsouth running mate who has a tenure to complete. Same in the southeast. Southwest has only Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke who can be running mate to a northern candidate. Whoever wins the PDP ticket would have serious funding problem. Normally, this is a government for Tinubu and his core constituency (political elites) to enjoy. He is collecting from Nigerians and giving to politicians. He is giving them money generously.
