There are better ways of empowering the masses than giving free handouts that will make them temporarily forget their problems

Funny people. How about those of us in Ibadan, Kano, Jos, Kaduna etc? How many passengers can the Oshodi park process? How about hundreds of other bus owners apart from God is good and how will this thing work out?

Pls, anyone that has benefited from this 50% discount should tell us how it works

Common sense.

If you are in Ibadan and you are going to Osogbo, first take a bus going to Oshodi, Lagos. From there, you will get a bus going to Osogbo at half the price. Simple!
Re: Yuletide: FG Slashes Interstate Transport Fares By 50% by Jokerman(m): 9:56am On Dec 20
Did FG provide buses or is it for trains alone?
Re: Yuletide: FG Slashes Interstate Transport Fares By 50% by nedu666: 9:57am On Dec 20
They tried the scam last year, it did not work as most transport companies did not comply

Who is funny here, the person giving you half a loaf of broad, or you that are still asking him to help you put the bread in your mouth?

If you are in Jos or Kadun or Kano, can you at least get yourself to Abuja and benefit from there? Doesn't that help some?? If you're in Ibadan, you can't make the short trip to Lagos? You are just determined not to have sense unfortunately so of course you won't see this.

And I know you definitely didn't read that God is Good motors is the only bus company involved. Did you?

The press release is disingenuous n misleading. N will lead to frustrations .

You have to use a specific transport company
Departing from a specific location, Specific time, specific route. WHILE DISCOUNTED TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE

Losses to the transport-vehicle operators and owners.

Which losses? Why do you people refuse to behave like normal human beings? cheesy Obviously, the FG will pay the balance. What is so difficult to understand about how this works?

That fee is not subsidized, they didn't pay nothing. You are paying 100%

What is the essence of traveling home for Christmas when the money you have in your pocket can barely cover the transport costs?

Nigerians are suffering and smiling.

Re: Yuletide: FG Slashes Interstate Transport Fares By 50% by Originalsly: 10:06am On Dec 20
Sounds nice ...but let me chew on this. Does the FG run inter State transportation? If yes...then they can simply slash the fares by 50% ... if you use their buses or trains. If no ... if the private owner slashes his fare ... then the fare will be subsidized by the FG. How will that work? ...they should say. This is just one more way to loot and many of us are cheering. In reality...the fares will not be slashed ...but later we will be reading about how many billions were spent on Yuletide Fare Subsidy.

Family reunion. Family above everything for most people. Most people will be sacrificing a lot to do so ...some just can't. This is basic African culture ... a culture of community. Western culture is one of individualism.... I care about me only. Family above riches is what such a person will not understand.

The bolekaja bookkeeper is doing well by offering crumbs of palliatives instead of creating jobs promised to earn wages and live in dignity.

Any idea why his Stockholm syndrome strategy is working so well

fuckJones:

(A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors).

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet.

Joseph stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ?

Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Do you see the number of handle mop following obi as if he is a seat? what of the one following dino malaye?

Your guess is as good as mine. Nigerians kill those they should defend and defend those they should kill! Pass to all your contacts & let your Political & Religion Leaders read, understand & digest.

You make a good point. However, the same family members that you are planning to travel home to celebrate with are the ones that will berate you when you get to your village and you don't have money or gift to give them, so I would rather send what little I can to help them than go home and become a nuisance.

This is nice.
I do hope there would be compliance from the transporters regarding this agreement.
..did the federal government give or allocate money to the transport companies..so that they can slash the price of the transport fare.?. the federal government cannot expect transporters to buy fuel at an expensive price and then reduce the price of transportation and run in a loss
Re: Yuletide: FG Slashes Interstate Transport Fares By 50% by ufotunang: 11:29am On Dec 20
Reduce the price of fuel and transportation costs will be reduced and come down and cheap and affordable for nigerians to move around and also travel.. simple

I hear you ... if that happens then you should know that those family members have abandoned the culture of community and have adapted the culture of individualism. I'm sure not all will be vultures and vultures shouldn't keep you away from gathering with the other family members. I would argue that this is more reason why you should go. I would ... to see first hand who is who. ..who is true to the culture and who abandoned the culture. Whatever I have to give ...will not be given across the board....as in sending money to everyone. ... but will be given to those who are about the family. Maybe you have a full time soft heart ... but mine is verrry flexible... in that if I gift you N60K ... you don't have to say what you think ... should I see disappointment sweep across your face ... I am grabbing it back.

This is just for the press. Just as you have heard it now, you will begin to praise the Govt. Nothing more.

What is the actual fare?

Is there a uniform fare charged by those stakeholders?

How can "Half the price" be determined?
They know what to do (reduction in PMS price) to alleviate the suffering but they won't do it...

After stealing the people's mandate and putting the Nigerian masses in untold hardship, this is what failure Tinubu could come up with. Is there any of his family members that will partake in this useless slash... He came and brought hardship and now bringing up another useless slash...

After stealing Nigeria's wealth and making stupid policies... Thieves, people that are extremely corrupt leading a Nation... This is crazy and unbelievable... Tinubu, you're not worth to be Nigerian President if not for the system that is terribly corrupt... You are a thief!!

The policy is not for obidiotss and haters if you
