During the war, the Indian Navy ordered hundreds of condoms to attack the Pakistani ships using mines and successfully liberated Bangladesh. How Indian Navy used condoms during war
During the war, Pakistani army targeted the Indian airbase and consequently, the Indian Navy attacked Pakistan from many fronts. One of the war fronts was situated in Chittagong port in East Pakistan’s (Present day Bangladesh) and during the conflict, Indian soldiers planned to target Pakistani ships by blowing them up. However, the mine called the ‘Limpet mine’ was to be placed under the ship, but the issue was, it would explode in just 30 minutes.

Thus, in order to solve this problem, Indian Navy ordered hundreds of condoms during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. As per a report by ABP Live, the condoms were placed over the limpet mine, so that the mine could remain safe in the water and explode in time. Moreover, reports also have it that the Indian Air Force also played an important role in this mission.

India navy wanted to blow up Pakistani ships with the usage of Limpet mines ( It’s like a detonator). The mines do have a magnet and all they have to do is to place it under the Pakistani ships. But there’s a problem... The mines go blow in 30mins after placement which will be risky for even India navy..

So in other to extend it from 30mins to more farther time, they used condom. I’m guessing they probably wore those condoms on the magnet of the Limpet mines..
