The first people to highlight about FOOD are the ones that always say they are NOT HUNGRY. lol 😂😂😂😂 Tinubu is right. Focus on production and supply and prices will come down gradually. Do a case study with PMS. Dangote started reducing his price the moment PH refinery started operating. BUA will soon join and many more. 70 Likes 14 Shares |

Re: We Won’t Control Prices To Reduce Food Costs – Tinubu by LegendHero(m): 10:45pm On Dec 23 |
kettykings: Don't follow what our useless media write in their newspaper, let me break down what he said. They asked him if he believe in price control and he said NO. he said it is a thing of demand and supply. When you have enough supply, the people hoarding food will not have much incentive to do that when you have enough supply. So he said rather than mandate businessmen to sell at a particluar price, he'll rather endure we produce more food and beat them with the supply such that hoarding will be detrimental. He then proceed to give instance of petrol. He said when he brought naira for crude, the people involved frustrated him for few weeks and after allowing demand and supply to deal with them, they resorted to gradual reduction in petrol price. He said the supply is in abundance for petrol so they can't hoard any longer so they have to sell. If anyone think what he said is bad, then they should tell us how enforcing price control by force is better. 43 Likes 5 Shares |

LegendHero:Price control is a waste of time and effort. They didn't ask him about exchance rate and what he thinks about the current #1700 per usd.The exchange rate is the biggest problem in this country today. His reforms are neccessary and very courageous, but if we cant get #600-#700 fx all his efforts would be total failure. 21 Likes 4 Shares |

Jorussia: Now let me ask you this. —For the sake of argument, let’s agree #1540 per USD is the current rateof the Naira to the USD (I don’t believe this is the true rate yet). —If you are saying Tinubu should peg it to #600, that means someone will need to cover for the differences. How do you think Tinubu should afford subsidy of over N900 on every $1 exchanged? I agree he can come in to the market to give some form of subsidy on it, but blowing N900 per $, is detrimental in the long run. They’ll just print more money and borrow more and that inflation we want to curb will only go up more. I just think we need to aggressively produce more, the shortest way to achieve that is crude output. Don’t sleep, just make sure by fire by force, the crude output go up in the shortest time and maintain some level of $$ supply. 21 Likes 1 Share |

Jorussia: 600-700 is a straw man. The realistic rate for the naira is at least 1000- 1200 right now. Secondly NG does not need a low dollar rate. If rates remain high we will see product substitution. Higher exports ( already happening) More USD Ultimately lower dollar rates. Government does not owe anyone foreign education, imported food or international subs. In any case foreign products serious about thr NG market place are already allowing naira payments via normal atm cards. We stay the course. 10 Likes 1 Share |

helinues:Meanwhile Obi and his supporters will be asking why is he travelling all the time. Hope they can see now that their saint knows nothing where Tinubu dey. Will that 2.5B dollars not lead to some employment? Their common sense does not tell them that the more investments their is in Nigeria, the more jobs will be created. Obi lacks the brain sophistication of Tinubu. Obi is nothing more than a trader. Not a viable alternative. 9 Likes |

Softmirror: Lies and propaganda don't run a country's economy. FG will always say "we will,we will...." yet they end up doing nothing. Audio 40k rice... Audio duty free importation of rice for 6 months. Yet food prices keep soaring. FG is now depending on demand and supply to reduce food prices. No matter the metric tonnes of rice you cultivate additionally, remember that the cost of transportation and the high cost of living will make the price expensive for the buyer. Tinubu is daft when it comes to the economy. 20 Likes 1 Share |
