Lol, if lawyers in Nigeria lose in court nowadays. They use social media to make their clients belief they have been cheated out.

Hmmmm !

Criminal, when you went to influence the Bayelsa state supreme Court governorship judgment and you were fined 60m Naira, did you not read the judgment?

Criminals in the judiciary.

And what happened after the fine? The Supreme Court agreed with the argument canvassed by Wole Olanipekun in that same appeal and departed from the abnormal judgement that saw Duoye Diri emerge as governor of Bayeslsa.

And that is the point Wole Olanipekun was making. The court made a mistake in that case but he did not go about abusing the Supreme Court justices on television stations. He channeled his grievances by critiquing the judgement in academic journals and the Supreme Court saw the error in their judgment and departed from it for the sake of precedence.

Not only lawyers. Pedestrian commentators are notorious for this as well. Till today, they refer to Hope Uzodinma as Supreme Court governor when they did not read the judgment stating that his votes from his stronghold were not counted when Emeka Ihedioha was declared and the Supreme Court simply asked that the votes be counted and awarded him the victory when his votes overtook the others.

They also believe that INEC turned off their server. If you ask them what the server is, they'd say it is a satellite.

They even believed that a lack of 25% in Abuja could invalidate a presidential election in Nigeria!

Just imagine.

They even argue that a court in Ekiti state does not have jurisdiction over defamation because Ekiti State abolished civil defamation.

They even believe that someone won an election, but never read the judgment lampooning his lawyers for not alluding evidence to back up the claim, and also presenting incompetent witnesses. For example, the witness brought to testify in Tinubu's alleged narcotics case was someone from Anambra State who fumbled when Wole Olanipekun asked him if he was aware that there was a letter from the US Embassy around 2001 stating the embassy was not aware of any drug case against Tinubu.
They just believe outrageous things and run to town with it saying: "Eureka! Eureka!! WE have nailed him!!!"
They nailed themselves.
We lack a reading culture in Nigeria. We are quick to hang others simply by not reading.

Well said, Bro!
Let them continue to blame others ,for their troubles!

On a matter that has already been settled by the supreme Court?

You people are just good in supporting evil practices in Nigeria and you also cry about the silly system dealing with everyone.

Nawaoo!

There is absolutely nothing wrong in going back to the Supreme Court if you have new evidence that just emerged. In the Bayelsa case, the Supreme Court did not see any new evidence as to warrant the appeal and they rightly fined Wole Olanipekun for abuse of court process. However, that case made the Supreme Court to review that judgement and departed from it for the sake of precedence. That’s why the case cannot be cited as a legal precedent in any court today.

Then why did they go in the first.place,if a lawyer found it difficult to read a judgment and take an informed decision,he is not worthy being in the bar.

Many patients would not live if a doctor could not read result of a lab test.

Chief Wole Olanipekun is one of the top brightest legal minds, he hardly makes headline and always offer measured opinions. Lawyers alike need to listen to him and stop denigrating the judiciary. Law is a profession and as such, it has ethics. They're channels through which any dissenting voices are afforded. The habit of attacking the judiciary in the media whenever a judgement doesn't appear favourable to some lawyers is absolutely ridiculous.
The Supreme court of the United States ruled that Donald Trump has a broad immunity from criminal prosecution for official actions taken while in office but I hardly see any legal luminaries constantly attacking the apex court and Americans tossing their judiciary into the dustbin.

Attacking the judiciary took a new height when some presidential candidates Lost out in last year presidential election.

This man is too corrupt , let me give you simple example from the last presidential judgement, any statement join by AND , the two statements must be truth for it to be truth eg from betnaija if you say CHELSEA to win and over 2.5 goals, if Chelsea win with goal less than 3 goal you the bettor did not win because the two statements must true , Chelsea must win with 3 goals and above for you to win your bet but Nigeria judge said in the last judgement that the AND is useless, it is shameful for any hippopotamus to tell us nonsense..

The And gate in logic is interpreted as OR gate in law... If he had recommend reading the constitution before commenting, it would have been better, instead he said, the judgment..... Alright

The same Americans attacked a USSC justice when Roe vs Wade was about to be overturned and protested for days against the judgement.

Besides, that of Trump was not really attacked because everyone was already aware of the political nature of the cases involved. A case where Trump gets sued for actions he took as president while Biden gets excused for actions he took as VP

That man is lawyer to Buhari, Tinubu, GEJ and was lawyer to Yar'Adua. He was lawyer to Ikpeazu, Tambuwal, Oshiomole, Mimiko, Uduaghan, Akpabio. He's lawyer to current Kano Governor.
