Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has reacted to the viral claim about the establishment of a Sharia Court in the State.
He said, if it's against the constitution then it wont stand.

Three questions:

1.
Why is there so much noise or controversy about Sharia court in SW?

2.
Will the Sharia court handle cases that involve non-Muslims?

I sincerely thought that Sharia court is in line with the Islamic faith. If this thought is correct and the Sharia court handles only the cases that involve only Muslims, why should a Yoruba person that willingly practises Islam in Yoruba land reject Sharia court in Yoruba land?

Those who are kicking against Sharia court in Yoruba land may have valid reasons for doing so. But I will not take side with them when I have not known their reasons. So, I sincerely need those people kicking against the Sharia court in Yoruba land to answer my questions.

Does Oyo State looks like a predominantly Muslim state? Even many Muslims there are nominal, I doubt they will go for sharia. Where in Ibadan for instance do they intend to plant sharia? Maybe Labo, Bere, Oje, and other local areas of ibadan but not the highbrow like Bodija, Ringroad, etc. Those clamouring for sharia in Oyo State are deluded. Simple!

It's a good thing so much awareness has been shared on this Sharia issue. Muslim faithfuls will try and gaslight you (non-muslims) into believing it does not affect you in anyway, but history tells us otherwise. This power hungry, authority usurping religion will only bring more insecurity, inequality and subjugation of the people who don't follow it anywhere it is established.

First na Shari'a court, next na demand for special privileges, islamic rights and putting their people in govt offices to push their agendas. 50 years later, it will be hard to believe that that land wasn't always a Muslim dominated place.

1) Because it is a very telltale sign that they are advancing JIHAD 2.0 in the southwest, ie the takeover and displacement of already established norms, practices and laws in a place where Islamic dominance isn't already established. The only difference now is they are not using swords or bombs, but slow means and methods that are not illegal per say, but definitely not in the interest of the whole region, only that of Islam.

Go and check out the profiles of the people on the invitation card that went viral. These are not some Aboki pushing wheelbarrow, they are all old educated men who have made it their agenda to enthrone Islam and all of it's institutions in the southwest

Are there not lots of Christians travelling to Muslim countries where there are strict Sharia law on existence? How many Christians have complained regarding the law? Both Nigeria law and constitution were both signature of Christians by British. You people need to understand that without the backing of law or judicial process Shari'a court can't be established amd can't be denied of the constitution support it

Nigeria is a secular state and so shall it remain the northern part of the country where sharia is allowed is because majority are Muslims but in the south here there is no room for it.
