Only #1 is necessary. That’s why it’s a gift deed. You can even receive money today and do gift deed dated today showing all that money. There’s no need for 6months etc. just show statement covering the period of the money. Remember the gift deed is explaining just that inflow. Go to page 1 on this page and use the gift deed format. Congrats, you have sorted the koko. Wishing you the best. Blackshaid: |

Good evening all. I engaged an immigration consultant last year and he didn’t meet up to our agreement. He has refunded and also sent me an attached email that he has withdrawn my express entry profile. He created the profile on his own account. Please how do I proceed from here? My IELTS still has till dec next year to expire. |

Chomyg: Simply create another express entry profile yourself. It's very easy and can be done in 30 minutes or less. Watch step by step YouTube videos. There are tons of them on the Internet. |

bekayy:I'll also add that the skills/strategies required to thrive in Nigeria is quite different from what is required to thrive in Canada. People have different reasons for moving to Canada and the hardship people face at first is usually compounded by lack of understanding of the system. No amount of preparation may prepare you for some of the things you'll encounter but if you remain strong, you'll thrive. When I moved here in 2022 my biggest fear was the job market hence I got a job in my field before landing. Close to my travel date, I found it hard finding anyone to accommodate me for the first two weeks. Friends in Canada who stayed at my apartment in Lagos each time they visited kept telling me how their house was full and all. I didn't understand because in Nigeria I accommodate people (friend of brother, friend of friend, sibling of friend...) hence I didn't think in the line of air bnb. When I arrived I noticed how heavily indebted people were. Even the whole "I bought a house" is different from home purchase in Nigeria as I knew it. Some people buy a house via mortgage and rent out all spare rooms. That was something new to me. Same people whose homes were full later offered me spot in their home for $800 or $1000 a month when they noticed that I actually had a job in Canada. Its a brutal system where people look to profit off others irrespective of the situation. I remained strong, stayed in that air bnb, built my credit and eventually moved into a condo. The rental market was very competitive then and nobody was willing to rent to me as a newcomer with no credit history. Hence I advice people to not be too quick to re-connect with old foes or make friends. After sometime, newcomers will understand the system and find it easier to thrive 11 Likes |

tshtsh: The current job market IN canada presents significant challenges, with many professionals struggling to secure employment aligned with their career aspirations. While Canada offers an excellent quality of life, the scarcity of job opportunities has forced many to rely on survival roles, such as Uber or food delivery, which barely cover expenses due to the high cost of living. This has created an unsustainable and stressful situation for those aiming for long-term career progression.GOD HELP US ALL 1 Like |

orjohn24:I think the world has changed a lot that it has become imperative for people to be flexible. Even in the US people still struggle so it’s not peculiar to Canada. Till date many people still get jobs before landing Canada and there exist many vacancies in different fields. One must re-skill if necessary. Gone are those days that one will hold unto an educational certificate like a chieftancy title. The research I had referenced in my earlier bashing was determining what is in demand and aligning with it, not trying to force the market to accept you. 2 Likes |

Profgordons: I understand your comment is shaped by experiences of corruption, poverty, and lack of functional systems back home. However, an educated European engineer would not dismiss education and years of experience as a "chieftaincy title." While Express Entry prioritizes skills, the reality is far from ideal, and dismissing years of education and experience as a "chieftaincy title" devalues the very qualifications that skilled immigrants were selected for. Unlike in the U.S., where many I know thrive professionally, Canada often forces skilled workers into unrelated jobs, further devaluing their qualifications. Your mindset, like many others with painful backgrounds, suggests you are escaping rather than emigrating. An average Nigerian like you is not migrating but escaping, rooted in the struggles of your homeland. This reflects a self-diminishing view of education and overlooks systemic flaws that exploit immigrants through taxes while offering little support. This is my last response to avoid derailing the forum.thank you 1 Like |

If Canada isn't good enough for you, don't go there or if you are already there, you have the option to leave. If so many Nigerians are "escaping" to Canada and not immigrating, it's their choice, these people didn't and would never ask you for assistance - focus on what works for your life. orjohn24: 3 Likes |

79733139: I guess my post is affecting your business of selling TEF and other travel packages to your gullible followers, but let me correct the wrong impression you’ve posted. Please note that majority of jobs posted on Job Bank are either outdated, fake, or dummy jobs created to secure LMIA. That’s why you keep applying a million times without any reply. I hope the Canadian government will clean up this mess and fraud, so your statistics based on Job Bank are 100% wrong.

I did biometrics on 23 December and I did medicals before then, I am in the Express Entry process, the TEF is a side hustle that will end once I reach passport submission stage. Like I said, if you don't like Canada, don't go there or leave the place if you are already there. We are all adults here and we can make our own decisions in life. The best thing for you is to open a new thread and talk about all the problems in Canada and how new immigrants would be helpless, this current thread is more focused on helping people survive and navigate the process. For others, ignore the doom and gloom talkers, do your own research and come up with plan A, plan B and plan C to survive and flourish once you get to Canada. orjohn24: 5 Likes |

79733139: The arugment here and counter argument stem from a cultural mindset that often interprets constructive criticism or dialogue as negative. To effectively plan and manage risks, it's essential to consider all available information, regardless of whether it's perceived as positive or negative. "By only accepting information that aligns with our views, we may overlook critical insights that could inform our decision-making and contingency planning. A recent example illustrates this point: an opposing viewpoint point to ur jobbank statement revealed a deception on Job Bank, highlighting the importance of exploring, job search strategies beyond this single resource and, embracing diverse perspectives and feedback can enhance our understanding and preparedness. 4 Likes 1 Share |

79733139: I beg, try to calm down. Everything is not about fighting, competition, or pushing one narrative like you are doing. Identify a challenge and how you will navigate it; it is not helpless or a downside. orjohn24:Haven't the government started cleaning up lmia fraud since may 2024. They no longer process lmia work permit to some business in low wage stream and increase in 20% of hourly wage to workers coming into Canada in high wage stream so you probably see less of lmia Job offers in Job Bank than before.. Even to remove lmia Job offer points 👉 in express entry system to be effective in spring 2025 👉 https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2024/12/canada-takes-action-to-reduce-fraud-in-express-entry-system.html I will agree 👍 with you on Job Bank some jobs will be posted and will be advertised until with a given date even though you apply for that same job within that given date, it may no longer be available, if you go to that same company that posted the same job,you will find out that some candidates have used references to get the same job posted by same company on job bank and while there are those on queue that applied directly to the company waiting for a chance for interview, then you will wonder what is the job that was posted on Job bank for.. |

79733139:"You have option to leave" in your context seems like sarcasm.. Have you not heard that some highly skilled migrants selected in economic class by the government from PR pathways are fleeing country after staying for few years in Canada and getting permanent residents and citizenship according to research from institute of citizenship canada and trying to find solution to the problem. https://youtube.com/shorts/Kl_NScIowMk?si=73J4FNN4uig5YTTo https://www.youtube.com/live/KgTvExDMwsE?si=06N_2pn2UQUAecKo 1 Like |

Just want to drop my 2 cents on IELTS and CELPIP. More and more people are finding IELTS challenging to max and I'm not sure why. Some are saying CELPIP is better. Everyone is sharing their opinion but at the end, we all must choose. My summary is that preparation for these exams involve understanding not just grammar and use of words but what's expected of you to be graded high (CLB 10) in these exams. For example, in the listening and reading sections of both IELTS and CELPIP, expect to understand the summary of the topic and the meaning of words and issues. They are big on paraphrasing for the Q&A. In the Writing sections, expect to put your thoughts across in clear paragraphs with a good use of sentence structures as applicable to writing emails and opinions. In the Speaking sections, there are some variations with the questions, but the key is being able to convey your opinion with some related points with examples and less word repetitions. In my opinion, the idea that you're speaking to a human interviewer in IELTS can make it more challenging than speaking to a computer. Others might not feel the same. But different strokes for different folks. Again, the most important thing is to understand the structure of each exam and what's expected to get a highly desired grade in each of the sections, especially writing and speaking. Reading and Listening is all about practicing multiple past questions and finishing within the allotted time. IELTS: - multiple centers in Nigeria, - multiple time options - 2 seatings (3 sections in one sitting and the speaking section in another sitting, possible on the same day). - mixture of language and accents - a little more expensive when compared to CELPIP (266k vs 220k) - multiple payment options - result out within 5-7 days. CELPIP - only one center in Nigeria, and it's in VI, Lagos. - time options are highly limited (since it's only one location) - one seating for the 4 sections of the exam - Canadian accent all through the listening section - payment options are limited. - result out within 2-3 days Choose carefully but most importantly, prepare well. P.S: Your Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) is NOT the average of your scores across Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking sections but the LOWEST of your scores in any of the sections. That means R7 W6.5 L7.5 S7.5 for IELTS is a CLB8 or R10 W7 L10 S9 from CELPIP is a CLB7. This applies to TEF and TCF results as well. P.P.S: If you do not max your primary language scores (CLB9+) and you already have or planning to get 2 degrees/Masters/PhD, it won't matter much as you won't get the desired extra 50 points in the Skills transferability section. 3 Likes |

Good day everyone. I got my ITA and have been trying to put my documents together. I got a sum of money from my mum to support and did a deed of gift. I thought it best to submit my POF in USD to hold the value and prevent depreciation of naira. Is it okay to submit my 6months statement naira account highlighting where I got money from mum and the times I bought dollars together with my new usd account where I have my POF in dollars. |

Let them flee Canada, it's a free world. New folks are still immigrating to Canada and a percentage of them are prepared for whatever they meet on ground and are willing to adjust accordingly instead of complaining. Predator188: 3 Likes |

Jonathan8: I think what he/she said is doable because, deed of gift means the money has been gifted to you and you can do as you please with it as it is now yours. So converting the said amount to usd for the reason stated makes sense. I may be wrong but that's what I think, others will weigh in cc jeenyphar 2 Likes |

Jeenyphar: As long as you show paper trail/evidence, you’ll be fine. You’ll need reference letter from your dollar account since that’s where the POF is. In your statement of account, highlight when gift deed deposited AND when USD purchase from the account was made. You may chose to include a short LOE too explaining the trail and that to forestall a potential loss of monetary value due to unstable foreign exchange you decided to convert the gift deed to USD. 1 Like |

Yes you are right, I have sold all my properties. Now open a new thread and gather people like you to complain on that thread about the hopelessness of Canada for immigrants. When you were in Nigeria, you complained about everything, you moved to another country, yet, you still keep complaining about the new place instead of using your brain to find solutions, implement them and tell people what worked and what didn't... nice post but to correct "people don't look to profit off others" they look for next means of survival. The way you got a good job, the man offering you room for 800 probably has a mortgage of 3k to pay and does not or was not lucky to get a good job as you did. You get it? tshtsh: 2 Likes |

megastu:I could look at it from your perspective but because of the people involved I don’t think it applies. It wasn’t all that convenient when I use to house them in Lagos while earning naira and they were earning a stronger currency. Since I didn’t ask them to be paid I didn’t expect same from them. Nevertheless I felt better paying for a spot on air bnb where professionalism & comfort will be assured. 6 Likes |
