Raider76: 3bn and 2bn as Capitalisation minimum is very poor for the sector. OverL the years, some haven't even done up-to 10-15times addition to shore up th amount inform of retained earnings or more capitalisation. hence most Price-Earning valuation multiple of the sector remain at 1X-3X Insurance is a risky business that depends on the success of other businesses to survive. A single claim or multiples of claim within a Quarter or a Year can wipe out companies retained earnings and even SHF. An increased Capitalisation requirement can help absorb such risk whenever they occur, If it happens, -increased dividend yield for some; -Consistent yearly dividend for others; investors might want to increase the average Price-Earning valuation ratio of the industry in general to say 4X-6X despite the dilution. Even with the dilution, the OS might not be as much as compared to other sectors doing recapitalisation. That could be one part of the whole picture. |

BullBearMkt: Well done!!! You are making a positive impact in your friend's life. Just looking over the past year myself and I can say a life has been significantly impacted positively. Omooloriredade: I had a very low bar set in 2023 when I decided to assist my sister with investing in the stock market. She always needed help with "BIG" ticket expenditure like renewing IDs or licences, repairing or changing her phone, replacing her glasses, shopping etc so I would often have to step in to assist. I have always wondered if there was "a solution for her case".......japa not being an option. Her total asset was roughly N2.5M so I thought I'd invest it in the NGX with the hope that she could make 20-50% yearly to fund such "BIG" ticket expenses. I had stopped following the NGX for some years so my expectations were pretty low. I had a lot of catching up to do. NSEMPA, Meritrade research, Cardinal Stone research, NGX website, Twitter, LinkedIn et al brought me up to speed. Fast forward to today and her portfolio is almost x10 of the original seed capital even though roughly N3.5M has been withdrawn between 2023 and 2024. Life changing!!! For context, she is a bloody teacher expecting her reward in heaven. She doesn't even earn up to a pathetic N1.2M a year......SMH . I don't know what she receives exactly - notifications, portfolio summary, trade alerts, she sends me "ku ise" meaning "well done" out of the blues. Now, the bar has been raised . Her portfolio will fund real big ticket expenses as we march towards 2026 by God's grace. May God send helpers our way that won't rest until they see us prosper. One of my 2024 highlights for sure. 26 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ndept: 10:24am On Dec 29, 2024 |
HesInMe:From my experience over the years, market crashes are always led by banks. The moment you see their financial results declining massively, then you should know that market crashes are imminent because institutional investors will start selling their holdings to move the funds to the money market. However, the fact that insiders in these banks are still buying their bank shares is a pointer to the fact that things will still be alright, at least in the next 3 months. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

ndept:The market will not crash soon. At least not in the next 2 years. Unlike what happened during the global crisis of 2008-2010 when foreign investors dominated the NGX and the market crashed when they sold off, the market is now dominated more by local investors who took advantage of the crash in prices to load more shares. Hence the NGX is a bit more shielded from the volatility of foreign markets. More funds would be pushed into the economy between now and next year when politicians start their election campaigns and some of the funds will trickle into the stocks market. But a serious political crisis or uncertainty can cause the market to shed some weight 3 Likes 1 Share |

mikeapollo:He was probably referring to Insurance sector, in view of probable call on them to recapitalise. I believe that the Central Bank will give them several months notice the way they gave the Banks and investors would have enough time to act. That is if they would be required to recapitalise next year. There would be a build up to that time. No smoke without fire. Though, everyone is entitled to his opinion, be it deductive or radical. |

Market Movement and Investors' Behaviour Investors believe/know that the market has two directions and seasons - up or down and bull and bear, but often they behave and act in the opposite as if the market has only one direction and season when they have invested or are about to invest. 1 Like 1 Share |

Toluway: The CBN is not the regulator of insurance sector in Nigeria. If they are to recapitalise, that would come from NAICOM, their regulator. 4 Likes 1 Share |

ositadima1: lol this is the event that happened IN Oando stock price and i am not using TA, but just following the news and rumours if you follow the news, you would made *3 of your money my prediction is that Oando share price will get dumped in 4-6 months, if no new acquisition happen what made Oando pump is simply buy the news sell the rumor and it is all related to the agip deal. When tinunu became president, share prices were at 4.9 naira from march 2023- may 2024, insiders and banks were buying up shares. then retail started pumping the price up after the agip deal in august 2024, price pumped to 89 naira. so it was literally a buy the news, sell the rumour event. you do not need TA 2 Likes

motymop: But everything will always show on the chart. The signal is always there. What you cannot predict is how far it might go |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by motymop: 3:14pm On Dec 29, 2024 |
Agbalowomeri: it is the chart, so every sell and buy will show on the chart. and yes you can not predict the price but just using the news about oando- agip deal, it was easy to know that this stock will pump if the deal go through. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 3:26pm On Dec 29, 2024 |
Agbalowomeri:It is a big lie.what happened in FMN,ucap and about to happen in wapco did not show in any chart unless in the chart in spirit world. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Agbalowomeri: 3:33pm On Dec 29, 2024 |
Streetinvestor2: EVERY move will give an early signal in the chart WHETHER you know the reason or not. It is not a point to argue. If you remember, you asked for a TA view on Oando when it was around 18-20 even when we didn't know the news. If you can retrieve my response, it should give you some insights. So read up your price action. 3 Likes |

motymop:The first news that moved onado was not agip deal.Agip deal came later. And the thing that will move it going forward is quarter results and not news or acquisition in 2025 and beyond. When they hit 50,000 and above the price will definitely fly without any acquisition. Agbalowomeri:I have never believed in TA..my opinion. If you go back to my old post.i have always maintained it only works if you can pull enough crowd to believe in the interpretation of what you are seeing. The same chart always have different readings from different people. If your TA saw that ucap will declare 2 for 1 bonus,FMN will delist and wapco will be bought by chinko company. Bros you for done be dollar billion here. And not hiding what you bought and targeting 100%. .Now you TA is telling you the market will crash first quarter abi.We are waiting. This your TA that lied about gtbank that is almost doing another 100% after you have sold.TA na complete probability in logic sample |
