You can have the best of both worlds. Cocoa is an international cash crop. You can focus your energy on that and in no distant future, you can have a thriving business that yields you just enough to afford you international travels.

If you have enough money with you, BEST to travel out of Nigeria. Because with that time frame, in the next 5 years, Nigeria will be in a much worse condition economy and business wise.

stay with your cocoa farm
cultivate annual crops that can give you early produce while waiting for your cocoa to produce

going abroad will not yield the benefits your cocoa farm will give you provided security on farm is guaranteed

If you deal with cocoa, in the next 7 years, you will be traveling at will to your choice countries

But there are some other things that can give you millions in a year now.

OP, if the cocoa plantation is a large farm, abeg hold on to it and forget about traveling out.

I bought a piece of land in Akure 2 years ago (2 & half plots), there were 3 cocoa trees on that land but the trees were not in good condition. I almost fell the trees down but someone advised me not to do it. He recommended a man who came to tend the trees for me and apply necessary chemicals. Cutting the long story short, those 3 cocoa trees have fetched me more than N400k. That's almost half of the amount I bought the land. Just 3 cocoa trees o.

.. now I have decided not to build anything on the land for now. I want to plant as many cocoa tress as possible on it. That's one of my targets in 2025. The man said I can easily get between 600-800 kilos annually on that land. A kilo of cocoa is presently N13,000

That country is too unstable for any new investment. Even existing businesses are struggling and closing up.

Do both, but make sure that your investment in the cocoa farming is much more. Cash crops farming is like free money. Many families I know are with wealth as a result of it, so do both.

And if you may not be on ground, engage in partnership for a start.

Travel out. Forget Cocoa farming for now. In short, forget venturing into any business as a newbie in Nigeria right now. So do not, I repeat, DO NOT GIVE IT A SECOND THOUGHT.

There are endless opportunities in the Nigeria
Agriculture is 90% untapped in this country, with places I can go and get some mineral resources for free and sell or even act as middle man
Leave and become a slave in another man's country
Only my flight ticket/visa to those Western world can get me 100 million naira in 14 months with just the simplest sugarcane farming
