A Nigerian medical doctor identified as Tony, has allegedly died after he took a drink allegedly laced with poison by his kinsman.

The incident happened in his village, Nenu Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State on Boxing Day.

One of the deceased's friends, Prince Agbara, who disclosed this in a Facebook post, said the alleged culprit fled the village with his family after the doctor died.

“This is disheartening. Somebody that was alive and healthy on the 25th, poisoned on the 26th through drink and he vomited and that was it, by his kinsman. On noticing that my friend had died he ran away with his family,” he wrote.

Funny how people take another person's life easily without any prior issues. With the times we are in, you dare not leave your drink on the table. I carry my drink even turning to take a look at a lady who just walked passed.

I see why most people from the five plots that came to Nigeria this December decided to stay only on Lagos
