Ask the Saudi company for more money and longer tenure

If you do go don’t hand over your passport to anyone, hold enough money in a dollar account/card to book a return ticket and don’t resign from your job yet, take your annnual leave and go and check it out

1.3m salary in Saudi is very low from my experience working there some years ago. At least from 2.5m would have been ideal. Just weigh the options properly.

You took the word out of my mouth. The pay is low for relocation out of Nigeria. On the other hand you can take it to build up your international work experience. Next would be to upskill and relocate to Germany for example where you will get more pay.

If the company or the project is a notable or reputable one, I would say choose it. Work and save almost 75% of your earnings, write internationally relevant/recognised certifications that would enable you to apply to bigger roles in global firms and/or bigger positions/projects/companies while in Nigeria. If you desire further abroad experience, you can apply to jobs in Dubai or elsewhere. This depends on the scope of the project or the reputation/clout of the company in Saudi Arabia. Many people work there to attain some years of international experience which they use to pivot to much more desirable places. It all depends on what you want at the end of the day.

The laws in Saudi are even good as they enable you to cut costs and live a much more disciplined lifestyle.

Better go o. Do what they do there and don't do what they don't do. just as the saying goes: when you are in Rome. I have a friend there doing well by the way

Was in a similar position some 4/5 years back I think. I didn't take the offer as I couldn't risk jeopardizing a stable career for a 2-year contract offered to me at the time even though the pay was very attractive. Looking back in retrospect, no regrets at all as I have gotten much better pay. I declined their offer and told them that I would only accept the offer if it were a fulltime offer. Nothing more nothing less. I am not asking you to reject or accept the offfer as my own situation is peculiar to me and coupled with the fact that I already had a family then and they wouldn't even allow me come with my family. Only you can make that decision. How easy would it be to get another job should you return to Nigeria? Should your contract expire and you return to Nigeria, would your earnings over the two year period be enough to sustain you for a reasonable period of time pending when you get another offer. It's a tough decision. If I were in your situation, I may take the offer as there's no family to worry about and also considering that 400k isn't really a lot of money again which means I would be more risk perverse in that case. Being single in this situation is in your favour. Carefully examine the merit and demerits of both options and make a decision.

But you can go to get international experience. Work there for 2 years. You might even get better offer there after spending 2 years there.
Or move to Europe or Australia after 2 years....

Please move brother, I bet you won't regret it. Those Arab countries are a fast track to your dream. My uncle was an area manager back here in Nigeria then at Chicken Republic but got a job in UAE as a waiter about 4 years ago. Guess what he's now practicing in his field in Canada since October this year. Think about the experience and the value it's gonna add to your CV. Those Western countries also believe if you can be law abiding in an Arab country with their strict rules, it means you can cope in their own country too.
