Abeg, respectfully falana should shut his trap. The all ganged up against OBJs sale of the refinaries. 51% sale not outright. Today billions have been spent on those same refinaries that have not worked or at best propaganda work, forget all the current lies. That was the same way he and his crew attacked Jonathan when he tried to remove subsidy. The same lawyer was silent when the current gov devalued naira and fuel prices causing inflation, destroying the economy and inflicting poverty to the levels our people have never known. |

Selling the refinery would have been the best idea.. I wan see how a 60yr old refinery will function optimally. Dey play. How much revenue will it make for the country and what impact on the price of fuel |

If you plant a seed, it would germinate and grow. That's what Obasanjo did, and the result is evident. So, to correct the anomalies, strict policies have to be put in place to turn things around, change people's mindset, adjust their lifestyle. Obasanjo made everything easy while stealing, so hat nobody will be aware. Instead of development, he chose to spread the money so that no one complained. Now, all covered atrocities have been revealed, would you prefer to remain there or fine tune it going forward? Imagine selling govt assets, and you're talking about stricter policies. Those policies have processes, and it will be fine eventually. NITEL and NEPA were sold under Obasanjo, and where's the way out today. He paved way for corruption. NITEL is gone, NEPA is dwindling all the time. Obasanjo sold 51% shares of both Port Harcourt and Kaduna adrift, then came out to claim that those refineries can never work, and you're comfortable with such? Obasanjo sold defunct Oshogbo Steel Rolling to Dangote, and still yet to function, and so on like that. Villa12: 1 Like |

Lifestone:God bless you ooo. The moment I see anybody praising yaradua I will just conclude that the person knows little about the pulse of the country when yaradua was in government! Well, some are just being kind to him because you don't talk ill of the dead. Yaradua was the first president to be named baba go slow!...Infact,No president has reigned in Nigeria that was praised within the first year of his government. Nigerians started crying within 6monts just like we have done for those before and after him 1 Like |

They refineries will have been better off sold. Compare the expenses. There's always a trade off abeg. The problem of Nigeria type of privatisation is, it ends up in the wrong hands.Check Nitel. |

Bobodee09:Igbo view of OBJ always change with prevailing situation. He is their friend today because of OBI...He was their friend when he appointed OKONJO iweala etc and endorsed GEJ,He became their enemy when he fought GEJ. If he had made an IGBO man the vice president to yaradua and IGBO man will gave been president today. OBJ Killed more IGBO during the Civil War than BUHARI,But na BUHARI they hate because of civil war |

Simple, you even contradict yourself, whatever will make us insult and respect OBJ will make us insult and respect BAT.They are both president past and present and elderly people. Why must we spare OBJ of insult because of TINUBU |

Peakdesign23: OBJ doesn't need to say anything because majority of Nigerians know he acted in the best interest of Nigerians as at that time. Those that made fortune from NNPC and staff Unions such as NUPENG, PENGASSAN will always defend their cash cow because once privatized no huge legal services money again to those Law Firms providing services to NNPC, no jumbo salary and allowances again. Then finally, About 90% of the staff would be sacked. I am not a Lawyer but Late Professor Ben Nwabueze while Yaradua was on life support in Saudi Arabia had explicitly analyzed the Power of President and that of the Vice President in Presidential System of Government. He quoted portions of Nigeria Constitution that give the President overall powers and responsibilities over all the areas assigned to Vice President. Falana was alive when Professor Ben Nwabueze was interpreting those sections. Aondoakaa was the Minister of Justice. Under Buhari, there are Constitutional assignments given to Vice President but was withdrawn from Osinbajo. The First thing Tinubu did on assumption of office is to return those duties to the Vice President Shettima. While those Constitutional duties were removed from Osinbajo a Senior Advocate of Nigeria what stops Falana from going to Court to challenge the powers of the President? How can PENGASSAN says the shares of $750 million is worth $5billion? When NITEL value was over estimated and uninformed Nigerians and Lawyers providing legal services and making huge money from NITEL were making noises, I said they should allow NITEL Staff Unions and those Lawyers bring their preferred bidder(s). They don't want government to sell it , they cannot operate efficiently, they want government to continue to pump money while they collect salary and pay Lawyers huge legal services money. You placed value on what is operating at loss and highly indebted. Those Refineries were even overvalued at $750 million for both Portharcourt and Kaduna Refineries as at that time. NNPC and Tinubu will transfer the management to Private investors again. |

Basic123: I gave up on those people when one told me he preferred military rule. This someone who was a toddler during abacha regime and he claiming he wants military rule back I believe most them don't have a mind of there own they just follow narrative of the people in there village meetings. Which sane human will prefer military rule over democracy. They all sleep and face one direction.....you sing there praise they love you but the day you do otherwise they completely hate you. |
