First and foremost, why should we be talking about our allocation in dollars?
Are we spending dollar here?
I don't remember Tinubu singing that he's fighting corruption, somehow, many of u are just confused that u post anything u like.
Some of u are so confused that every talk must be about dollar.
Zombie!! Tinubu said he's fighting corruption by increasing minimum wage. I can't believe I have to educate you his supporters on what he said and didn't say.

Nigeria's highest revenue earner is crude oil that is priced in dollars. So anyone with half a brain will know that dollar value has an effect on revenue in naira terms. Darn!!

Serious îñfèri0rity c0mpIex, that's why you will see someone who spent only 2 months in UK or US forming accent while they won't form accent if they spent 6 months in India.
They just want to talk about dollars to feel among.

They form accent too when they go to India o 😝

2 months can too much. Have you seen someone forming accent, instantly after getting his visa?

I can’t hurriedly forget the year I went to get my long stay visa of a country at an embassy in Nigeria.

One guy that we were together speaking English in our local tongue outside an embassy suddenly switched to American accent, immediately he was given his visa. He started forming woke and matured and everybody was looking like 😳😳

The Naira is so unstable, it is risky to follow pricing trends in Naira.
We earn dollar primarily to run the economy.
Even your paymaster you defend here daily prefer to stash their booty in dollars. The surviving families are running on forex support.

Let's be sincere with ourselves. Telecom increase tariff due to exchange rate, electricity bill increase due to exchange rate.
Those things are not controlled by individuals.
It's a general effect.
We're a consuming nation so dollar with affects us badly
Dollar doesn't affect us to the point where we have to be quoting our national allocations in dollars, it's that simple.

Naira is not so unstable that national allocations should be quoted in naira, this is common sense, if u think otherwise, u should check ur sense.

You will think that states have a lot of money because you saw trillions until you convert it into dollars. Nigeria needs creative leaders to help her create wealth.
Why should you convert to dollars? Is dollars our currency? The amount in Naira is still a lot of money to do many things.

What N5trillion will get you in Nigeria will not be far from what the equivalent in dollar will get you in the US. If you doubt it, just research the prices of household commodities in the US and compare to what we have in Nigeria, you'll realize things are relatively cheap here.
You can argue that N5trillion is not much for 36 states and the FCT for a whole year, if we want develop, trying to convert it to dollars even when the respective state governments don't spend dollars is ridiculous.

Dem no born dem papa well to form Indian accent speaking English.

I agree they can speak in western accent when they are with those oyibos so that they can easily be understood. But when you are with your people, haba.

This demented zombie is saying its improper to quote national allocation in foreign currency when majority of the loans to be financed from the allocation is in foreign currency.

Ok. If we're to go with your logic, Nigeria is having its largest federal budget in history last year. Can you show us what the budget has done in relation to the budget of 1977 that built a refinery? Let's see what the zombie says now.

The way some of you reason is baffling. Do government either federal or state award contract in dollars. All project are done since intime memorial in niara. Since removal of subsidy, state governors have received more money than before but most of them are not using the money judiciously.

What is the value in dollars?

This is just like Tinubu claiming he's fighting corruption with 70k minimum wage when 70k is just $43 from the previous 30k that was about $65

Revenue did not increase. The naira value to dollar fell and they got more naira from same or less dollars

First class accountant indeed

Mtcheew it's even the nation. I won't be surprised if the figures are lies
Is the official legal tender in Nigeria the USD? The respective state government is paying their workers in Naira. USD is only applicable to people engaging in international business. We should commend the increase in allocation to the State. They should utilize it judiciously

How much transactions does the state engage in that dollars is not affected?
Even road contracts are affected by dollars not to mention debt obligations and other capital expenditure. It is only salaries and allowances that are not affected by dollar value and that has a negative effect on the civil service of the state which further dampens morale
Ask FG workers how happy they are with the recent 70k minimum wage not to mention states
Dollar value has a direct effect on the purchasing power of the naira. That's how our economy is structured and until that's done away with, increased allocation can't be mouthed in isolation. For example, the FG budget has seen over 70% increase from last year's. Is the effect on the economy commensurate with that increase?

Lagos has diverse developmental challenges that Anambra hasn't got. No average governor can do well in Lagos. You must be above average. The money that Lagos spends on security alone eeh.

You should go to usa then so you can be using dollar. This is federal allocation. We have not to talk about what the state generates internally from various means, and you say it's not enough. You just love to nag, nothing else.
