These visa officers can be quite strange, to be honest. I reached out to my bank, and they informed me that they cannot provide a letter explaining the transaction reversals. However, they can issue a reference letter stating that I have been a reliable customer with a good banking relationship for a specified period. Since the transaction reversals of 55,000 Naira and 8,000 Naira are small relative to my monthly salary inflows of 800k+, I will just explain the transaction reversals in my cover letter, attributing them to failed transactions, and attach the reference letter along with my salary account statements.

If my application is still rejected after this, I’ll be convinced that these visa officers are mentally ill.

Jolene474:
I had same issue in my application, I had two reversal of N2,000 and N12,000. This visa officer said I had unexplained deposit and that I had no other job on file and so they can’t ascertain the credit, but I explained severally in my application, do they want someone to lie in an application? How has bank refunds become an issue.
You need to explain clearly, if it’s possible write an email to your bank and ask them about the credit to your account and your bank will likely say it’s as a result of a reversal due to bank outage and also attach it.
That’s why I was refused, but adding this email might help, the reason I’m saying this is because my cousin who will work together is about 39 years old, he got no wife or kids, he haven’t traveled before, he gets paid about N490k monthly and he got no landed documents, he lost both his parents at young age, no ties from no where, except his job, we applied together in Lagos and guess what folks, they gave him the visa, do you know how much was in his bank statement balance, N4M. He had so many unexplained deposits, infact he didn’t even care, he uses the account for everything, but they gave him, me that had just minimal credits into my account, visa officer said No lol.
I had about 5 visited countries, almost a Million Naira salary, landed properties and more.
So I think everybody has a scale at wish they are judge.
But for a fact, everybody’s application is never same.

Just incase you think it’s weird, I’ve his bank statement and his UK visa on my WhatsApp, he asked me to book a flight for him, so everything is possible, yours may work or the visa officer might over a lot just as he did for his.

Don’t UK banks reverse transactions if unsuccessful? Why reversal is a big issue for them I don’t know, they just want a clean slate, they are the ones that promote people having artificial bank statement because you don’t want to see errors… so just explain, add the bank reply email.

How long are you planning to visit London? 1 week?

courrage9:
I have a budget of 1000 pounds
Flight- 300 pounds
Feeding- 50x6= 300
Accommodation= 200
Transport and miscellaneous = 200
Is this budget okay or needs adjustment? I’m not in Nigeria so flight fair from my location is within 250-300 range

My friend wanted to accommodate me but her tenancy agreement is expiring a week before my planned trip.

Is it possible to apply without the tenancy agreement?
i.e just her brp, passport and a letter from her datailing where she stays? (She said it’s bill inclusive so no utility bill)

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by b31164707: 11:13am On Jan 08
Sorry I forgot to ask. Did this ₦3m for 2 weeks include the cost of flight to and from London or not?

sanyaolurilwan:
₦3m for 2weeks ... Excluding accommodation and feeding.
Monthly salary of ₦1.2M

How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK?

Please, what should I fill here for my mom's application?
My kid bro is inviting her over and is sponsoring her fully.

Since the question says personally, should I put the estimated cost of trip which in this case is £2000 or £1, since she won't be paying a kobo of hers.

Please help my people

£1.

Input the £2,000 in the section that ask if anyone is paying towards her visit.

Good luck.

Please, is there any need to submit her bank statement?
I stated she's a petty trader and farmer and makes 820k yearly however.
And also depends on the monthly allowance we the children send to her of about 120k..and her monthly spending is 65k

Do you know the number of people that have been refused because of that mistake?

Is it mandatory to submit a Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) for a Schengen visa application?
Does not providing a Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) affect visa approval?

No matter how low the transaction volume on her account may be, please ensure you submit her bank statement and explain any inconsistencies.

Don't give them any reason to refuse the application.

Anything yet?

Nysckits:
you are not alone. My Biometric was done on the 10th of December and up till this moment I haven't received any email and I am a bit worried.

I have decided to wait till Friday to make it exactly one month and I hope they will get back to me.

Up until this moment, there’s still no update from them. I haven’t received any email, and my dashboard on the VSF site still shows ‘no decision made yet.

I’m staying hopeful and holding on to the belief that the delay might be a positive sign for a successful outcome. Rejections or denials usually don’t take this long. It’s almost a month now(29 days to be precise)since I did my biometrics on December 10, 2024

Good morning, and my sincere apologies for this refusal. Could you kindly explain how you calculated the average monthly expenditure reported in your application?? I understand that expenses can vary from month to month, but one approach could have been to add your expenses over the past three months and then divide the total by three. You could have also mentioned this method in the 'Additional Information' section of the application to clarify how the reported monthly expenditure was determined.

Secondly, apart from your salary, did you thoroughly explain the additional inflows received within this 3-month period in a cover letter? Please note that all inflows apart from your salary must be clearly explained in a cover letter, so the visa officer doesn't incorrectly assume that the inflows were fraudulently obtained. If some of these inflows were due to transaction reversals, which is quite common in Nigeria, this should also be explained while stating that your bank can be contacted for verification purposes.

How ever since salary is 143k, we thought to use amount less than salary
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by b31164707: 9:57am
Ah, I see where the mistake came from. You should've added your expenses over the four-month period provided and divided the total by four, then mentioned this in the 'Additional Information' section of the application to clarify how the reported monthly expenditure was determined.

Secondly, apart from your salary, did you thoroughly explain the additional inflows received within this period in a cover letter? Were these additional inflows bonuses/allowances from your employer? How can you have inflows of over 2 million Naira within a 3-month period and not explain the source of these inflows? Please note that all inflows apart from your salary must be clearly explained in a cover letter, so the visa officer doesn't incorrectly assume that the inflows were fraudulently obtained. If some of these inflows were due to transaction reversals, which is quite common in Nigeria, this should also be explained while stating that your bank can be contacted for verification purposes.
