Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Wednesday, hosted a reunion meeting with former political appointees and government officials who served during his tenure as governor, ABN TV reports.

The event, held at his Camp Neya residence in Igbere, attracted prominent political figures from across Abia State. Among the attendees were the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye; Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; former Abia State Commissioner for Information, Prof. Anthony Agbazuere; Chief Don Ubani; Hon. Chief P.C. Mba; Pastor Emeka Inyama; and Rev. Mrs. Jemimah Ola Kalu.

Other notable figures included former House of Representatives Member, Chief Emeka Stanley; Elder Ralph Egbu; Chief George Nnanna Kalu; Hon. Friday Onukwe; Dame Amarachi; Barr. Emeka Kalu, Ph.D.; Hon. R.N. Nji; and Chief Felicia Dimgba, among others.

In his remarks, Senator Kalu clarified that the gathering was not politically driven but aimed at fostering unity, love, and harmony among former colleagues. He highlighted the importance of collaboration and solidarity for the progress of Nigeria, particularly Abia State.

“This meeting is not about politics but about reconnecting and fostering brotherly interactions. Elections are over; now is the time for governance. I encourage everyone to support our leaders at all levels and hold them accountable when necessary. Despite belonging to different political parties, unity remains essential for development,” Senator Kalu stated.

The lawmaker further revealed that the idea of the meeting was conceived after consultations with former governors and leaders, emphasizing that mutual care and support should transcend political affiliations.

Speaking on behalf of Abia South Senatorial District, Hon. Emeka Stanley commended Senator Kalu for the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening collaboration among stakeholders. Representatives of Abia North and Abia Central Senatorial Districts, including Chief P.C. Mba, Chief George Nnanna Kalu, and Pastor Emeka Inyama, echoed similar sentiments, lauding the senator’s leadership and commitment to unity.

Other speakers, including Chief Victor Oye, Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, and Sir Don Ubani, praised Senator Kalu for organizing the meeting, noting that it serves as a model for fostering harmony and collective progress.
