The Nigerian government has announced that the minimum wage would be reviewed on a two-year interval instead of five years. The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, disclosed this on Thursday in Abia State.https://dailypost.ng/2025/01/10/nigerian-govt-announces-period-for-next-minimum-wage-increase/ 9 Likes 2 Shares

Review of minimum wage doesn't always mean increase. It could mean decrease. And that's a good sign because it spells that Paper money will recover 'perceived' value Imagine #100 cooking a nice pot of soup like before. That's #100 recovering its value back With that, a minimum wage of #10k will be nice Throwaway for diggers: Inflation is not the price of goods going up. No. Inflation is the effect of something. Ask yourself what's the cause. There's always a casue of an effect. Because this is a two way universe of cause and effect as Walter Russell tried teaching Morning and night happens simultaneously, same way evaporation is balanced by condensation and evaporation again repeatedly. Death and rebirth The cause of inflation is money losing value due to excess being 'electronically generated' by fractional reserve banking and central banks buying government bonds with money drawn from an empty account. The price of few goods then acts like a mop to sweep the excess money in circulation. And that's the effect you see in the markets. Printing money doesn't cause inflation as you were taught.the electronic money in circulation(bank transfers, e-wallets) is always greater than paper money so that should tell you what's up And that electronic money was created by the commercial banks through fractional reserve banking. Access, GTB, zenith...ask an insider and they *might tell you. All the money you deposit in your bank is being used to create loans for new customers. But the loan doesn't come from your actual deposit, if it did, money creation would not be possible on a commercial bank level. The money is a computer generated number and that's what cause inflation. Commercial banks, access, GTB and co, are selling your deposit as loans in exchange for collateral, back to you and other people who need it. And they're charging interest to you and others, non top your money If the borrower pays the debt, that's fine If the borrower delays in paying the debt, that's new money floating around the economy. Match that with few good being produced because of insurgency and you have inflation if Nigeria pays all her debt, there'd be no Paper money in Nigeria. And that's why Nigeria can't pay her debt. Because the rulers need paper money Debt= money You're welcome to do your research Welcome to the debt based economy 13 Likes 4 Shares |

Lol. With the cunning formulae they use now, they can even afford to review it every 6 months. Federal workers earning N200,000 before the last review/increase now earn N215,000, that is less than 10% increment. 1 Like |

Going by the way this minimum wage matter is being dragged, the 3years periodic review may even be higher than the 5years. If since 2023, it couldn't be ratified and since April, 2024, it has not been paid, even the Corps members, till date, when will the 3 years start counting? Same way Buhari used Rochas Okorocha to dribble labour for the 8years of his administration, Tinubu has just switched only the gender, still an Igbo to keep the ball in the midfield. 3 Likes |
