He need to invade Mexico to do that because the cartels are not living in America.

But can he really invade Mexico ? Will the Mexico president allow it ? The drug cartels are deep in Mexico politics.

They are everywhere in Mexico government. Police, Army, law courts, government agencies etc in mexico.

And also the Mexico public also support the cartels.

For trump to get rid of those drug cartels. He needs invade Mexico just like bush invaded Iraq and Afghanistan. Because fighting drugs cartels in mexico is like fighting the Mexico government.

But can Trump do that or he is just playing to the gallery.

Let see as things enfolds.

I think he's riding on the jingoism ( close to fascism ) card and his supporters buying into it in large numbers, Hitler had the same effect on the German population after the treaty of Versailles. He believed the Jews and the gypsies are to blame for Germany's misfortune ( that's a topic for another day )

In this case, the cartels and the Mexicans find themselves in that position. What he failed to understand is that, it's a matter of demand and supply, there's a huge demand for drugs in America.

If they could find cocaina in the White House, it means drug abuse is endemic in America. I think it would be cheaper to reorientate the masses on drug abuse than to invade Mexico.

However, should the Mexican government (the current lady president doesn't play ball with anyone ) agree to cooperate with the US to fight the cartel, there's no telling what adverse effects it might have.

One part of the whole set up that baffles me is how the Chinese are making banks with Fentanyl sales to Mexico. Perhaps I was misinformed but time will tell.

"These China-based companies distribute fentanyl precursors throughout the world, including to the United States and to Mexico, where drug cartels such as the Sinaloa Cartel and Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación combine the chemicals into fentanyl and other synthetic opioids that they then distribute throughout the United States" - from Justice.org

⚡Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday vowed a strong response if Donald Trump slaps 25 percent tariffs on Canadian imports, which the US president signaled could come as early as February.

“Canada will respond and everything is on the table,” Trudeau told a news conference, adding that Ottawa’s reaction would be “robust and rapid and measured,” but also match dollar for dollar the US tariffs.

⚡Zelensky Drives a Wedge Between Europe and the U.S.

"When we look at the United States in Europe as our allies, we understand that they are an indispensable partner. During the war, we all worry whether the United States will stay with us.

All allies worry about this. But does anyone in the United States worry that Europe might abandon them one day? That it might stop being their ally? The answer to that question is no. Washington does not believe that Europe can offer them anything truly significant. I recall last year’s Shangri-La Summit.

There, representatives of the U.S. delegation openly and candidly stated that their top priority is the Pacific region, the second is the South, and Europe comes third."

⚡Slovak Opposition Is "Preparing for a Maidan" — Fico

"I cannot name names or circumstances, but I can say with complete seriousness that the Slovak opposition is preparing for a Maidan. The Slovak opposition is preparing to occupy government buildings, disrupt the work of the government, and cooperate with foreign forces," the Slovak Prime Minister stated at a press conference with Orbán.

Earlier, Slovak counterintelligence announced preparations for an operation to destabilize Slovakia.

It is worth noting that the Slovak opposition visited Kiev last week, where they met with Zelensky. This occurred on the same day Zelensky had invited Fico to Kiev, an invitation he declined.

Following this, Zelensky expressed support for the Slovak opposition in his evening address.

⚡German Chancellor Candidate Friedrich Merz (CDU/CSU) urges Europeans to unite as Trump takes office in the U.S., warning that his executive orders may not favor Germany or the EU.

Merz emphasized the EU’s population of 450 million, surpassing that of the U.S. and Canada combined, and called for a unified approach rather than appearing as “supplicants.”

“Those who reduce themselves to dwarfs will be treated as such. Americans are ruthless in this regard.”

But they never minded being the dwarf to the US in the last administration of Biden.

⚡Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Tuesday encouraged Poles living in the United States to return to Poland, pledging to facilitate the move a day after US President Donald Trump took office.

Trump has promised to crack down on illegal border crossings and vowed to deport “millions and millions” of undocumented migrants as he was sworn in.

The government in Warsaw estimates nearly 10 million Americans declared having Polish roots in 2012, making up Poland’s biggest diaspora abroad.

Tusk said Tuesday he had instructed Polish consulates to prepare for the possible consequences of the new US administration’s decisions affecting Poles “residing in the United States with different statuses and with different levels of legality”.

Around 50,000 undocumented Polish people lived in the United States in 2016, according to the estimates of Poland’s Gazeta Wyborcza daily.

“Every Polish man and every Polish woman will be warmly welcomed here at home,” Tusk told reporters in Warsaw, adding that in Poland “everyone can find their own America”.

“I have also asked the relevant services to facilitate the return, if necessary, of all those interested in coming back to Poland,” Tusk said.

⚡‘We don’t want to be Americans’, Greenland PM says.

Greenland’s prime minister said Tuesday the Danish autonomous territory wanted to stake out its own future and did not want to become American, following US President Donald Trump’s renewed remarks about taking control of the island.

Trump, who took office on Monday, set off alarm bells in early January by refusing to rule out military intervention to bring the Panama Canal and Greenland under US control.

While Trump didn’t mention Greenland in his inauguration speech on Monday, he was asked about it by reporters in the Oval Office afterwards.

“Greenland is a wonderful place, we need it for international security,” Trump responded.

“I’m sure that Denmark will come along — it’s costing them a lot of money to maintain it, to keep it,” he added.

But Greenlandic and Danish officials on Tuesday defended the Arctic island’s right to self-determination.

“We are Greenlanders. We don’t want to be Americans. We don’t want to be Danish either. Greenland’s future will be decided by Greenland,” Prime Minister Mute Egede told a press conference.

“Our country and our people will decide what happens to Greenland,” he said.

⚡German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Tuesday criticised Donald Trump’s “unacceptable” pledge to seize the Panama Canal, which the returning US president repeated in his inaugural address.

Baerbock was asked in an interview about Trump’s comments Monday on the waterway and on his desire to control Greenland, an autonomous territory of NATO ally Denmark.

“Any threat against a NATO member or other states is of course completely unacceptable,” Baerbock told German broadcaster RBB.

Baerbock however said that Germany needed to “play it smart”, when responding to the president’s statements.

“It’s not about how President Trump says something… but we should look at why he says something,” Baerbock said.

The focus should be on “what interests are behind (Trump’s statements)… and then standing up for our own interests”, she said.

⚡Ukraine has detained its army's chief psychiatrist for alleged "illegal enrichment" charges related to earnings of more than $1m (£813,000) accrued since the start of Russia's invasion in February 2022.

In a statement, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said the man sat on a commission deciding whether individuals were fit for military service.

The SBU statement did not name him - however, a man called Oleh Druz was previously identified as the Ukrainian Armed Forces' chief psychiatrist.

The SBU said he owned three apartments in or near Kyiv, one in Odesa, two plots of land and several BMW luxury cars, and investigators searching his home also found $152,000 (£124,000) and €34,000 in cash.
