The main purpose of this report is to redicle some states and also to divert attention. Why not just introduce resource control. Instead of beating around the bush, control the resources from your state (including vat) and pay tax to the center, why is this difficult to do?
mankan2k7:
So Ekiti state generated more VAT than Enugu, IMO, Ebonyi, Abia?

Tax reform is welcome

Lagos is a thief, VATs for Multinationals are paid to Lagos state but they operate and sell their products across the country.

Which state does consumer tax from FMCG, Breweries etc go to? How about Oil corporation operating in South South and South East while their headquarters is in Lagos.

Why is it that it's only Lagos Ports that receives over 90% of all cargoes imported into the country, why is Warri port, Koko port, Calabar port, Onne (operating at low capacity), not functioning as they should?

is that suppose to be a question toh !

is there any martial law banning other states from imploring functional port,

if other ports are not of preference as Lagos how is that lagos fault, did lagos just become a preference or she earned it

Imo is not useless. They're selling large chunk of Imo state's gas and giving them stipend from what is actually made from the state.

Deathisreal2024:
What could be the reason why imo state is so so useless,
What is their population pls ??

This system is so wrong!
This sharing formula cheats and shortchanges Lagos state.

That's what it appears to be on the surface, but deep down, Lagos is the one shortchanging other states.

So Oyo contributed N272 billion and received less than half while Imo contributed N4 billion and received almost 18 times same amount. Is that supposed to be a state or a syphoning structure? Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Abia should be merged as one state. Wtf.

God bless Tinubu on the Tax Reform Bill. Very soon, the Bayelsa model will apply where contribution and receipt are almost the same. Monkey wey dey work no complain, na the baboons wey dey chop come dey complain of marginalisation.

Let's not even talk about Lagos before some economic migrants claim they developed Lagos. Lagos contributed 2.7 trillion and received 460 billion.
How many barrels of crude oil and natural gas leaves Imo on a daily basis and how much allocation do they get at the end of every month?

Oyo got half of what was contributed. That doesn't support your argument.

The list you saw there, is the current formula of calculating VAT, which they intended to abolish, this is list that takes every VAT generated by all STATES COMBINED to the HEADQUARTERS of that Company, instead to calculate it for the states that generated it.

Something is absolutely not adding up in this report. Is the FACC funded with VAT alone? This report is wuruwuru, how about the funds from crude oil and gas sales, where are they?

From the report, it seems like VAT is just a fraction of what makes up the allocations.
It's mischievous to only account for VAT leaving out the main sources that fund Nigeria. Those that release these figures are hardened criminals.

Exactly, all these fuse about VAT as if it's the country's only economic mainstays. Na oil money dey sustain Nigeria , period!

Yoruba people are amplifying this VAT nonsense to divert people's attention from what actually funds the economy - oil.

The oil from a few states is still what's sustaining the economy
But since tinubu came in, we've been hearing how the yoruba are the ones funding Nigeria.

Same way Hausa people are carrying the narrative of feeding the country, as if they're not being sponsored by the FG then end up selling the farm produce. Get grant from the FG, produce crops, sell it and pocket the money. Turn around and claim to be feeding the country.

While Niger Delta face all the problems that comes with oil exploration and get nothing in return while the north mine their solid minerals by themselves

You have not stop from this your empty boast with nothing to show for it. I serve in the east and I see how retarded the states are in terms of commercial and industrialization and you are here saying you will leave the states that are doing well economically. You think those state got to where they are today in one day? If Igbos go back their states today, it will take the decades to get to where southwest are today and southwest will still not stop growing. Imagine ordinary Ekiti that was created few years ago already doing far better that many states from Igbo land and you are shameless talking trash here
