[quote author=BlackyOne post=133852542]Lagos is a thief, VATs for Multinationals are paid to Lagos state but they operate and sell their products across the country. Which state does consumer tax from FMCG, Breweries etc go to? How about Oil corporation operating in South South and South East while their headquarters is in Lagos. Why is it that it's only Lagos Ports that receives over 90% of all cargoes imported into the country, why is Warri port, Koko port, Calabar port, Onne (operating at low capacity), not functioning as they should? ..., the waterway not safe.... Lagos State spent alot on It's water way security wise and very acomodative |

es144000:Imo produces 17,000 barrels of crude per day. Brent Crude currently sells for $78 per barrel. I can help you do the math 17,000 x 365 = 6,205,000 barrels per year. 6,205,000 x $78 = $483,990,000 Based on the current exchange rate of N1626 for $1, Imo State rakes in N786,967,740,000bn per year for the Zoo. Now how much does Imo State get per month as Federal allocation? Imo gets an average N9bn per month as allocation. Multiply it by 12. These figures exclude revenue from natural gas... And Imo State has the largest gas reserves in Nigeria. Now tell us who is stealing from who Ndi ara! 1 Like |

emee701: Bro, VAT is being charged/deducted from the H/O. (Where the services Originates). Why Oyo State is also pulling some stunts is that for the past 10-13years, industrial clusters are appearing in Oyo (especially Ibadan). Places like: 1. Oluyole Industrial Estate in Ring Road (extending to Oriya Challenge/New Garage) 2. Toll Gate-Soka-Boluwaji corridor 3. NBC Plant at Asejire 4. NB Plc at Alakia 5. Awe in Oyo Town 6. Then QSR's, Hospitality Service Outlets too are paying VAT Also, the almost quiet environment (security-wise) contributed to the upsurge of businesses especially in Ibadan. |

yashau: Common go and sit down somewhere nothing like any daylight robbery imo have oil and gas which the federal govt controls and drills daily they only give imo just 13% out of 100% of what they take out so don't judge imo state by the meagre tax they remit cause that's a total wrong way to calculate what each state in nigeria contributes to the national pulse. |

sweetjohn: Then Lagos was FCT, it was only Lagos Island up to parts of Yaba. It didn't extend to Lekki or even Oniru. Lagos already had an airport in 1947, before Nigeria's independence. I hope in the future, you have more tenable excuses to give your children for the backwardness of their ancestors. 1 Like |
