Israel does not need Russian weapons. Their military doctrine does not go in line with Russian weapons. So it makes sense that they transfer them to Ukraine whose doctrine and spirit goes with it.

Left for the IDF, they could continue the war for years, but head slamming nations have been pressuring it and calling Israel a genocidal state. Also, the tears of the families of the hostages and USA pressure forced the IDF into the deal..

But guess what? It's just ta strategy, the IDF just wants to ensure all hostages are truly released, and then the campaign against Hamas continues..!!
