Yoruba don enter one chance. Very smart game being played here, Use an igbo Muslim to write your letters and communique to make it seem democratic where as same igbo Muslim lawyer can't lead them in prayers. After the south West, next stop to set up shari'a law and court will be Imam Haroun Muhammad Eze Esq. Village in enugu state and then the entire south east. Ndi iberibe Wallade: Do you know that if Sharia is allowed in the SW, it means the Sultan will be making laws for Yorubas. 135 Likes 10 Shares |

We embrace all religions in the Southwest. It's common to find families with both Christians and Muslims, and some even include traditional worshippers living in peace and harmony. What we reject is fanaticism, which can lead to terrorism, religious conflict, and Christian cleansing —like what we are witnessing in Plateau, Benue, Southern Kaduna, and other areas. 134 Likes 19 Shares |

MasterJayJay: The concern here isn’t just about religious rights—it’s about safety, unity, and governance. Forcing a Sharia court where people don’t want it could create unnecessary tension and division. The South-West runs on a secular legal system, and adding parallel courts might complicate justice and fuel conflicts. Plus, throwing hijab issues into the mix feels like a distraction from real governance problems. Instead of stirring controversy, leaders should focus on security, economic growth, and actual justice for all citizens, regardless of religion. The last thing Nigeria needs is another excuse for unrest. 117 Likes 12 Shares |

But they are tolerance to Christians during those attacks and ethnic cleansing especially during el rufai and co time? They are just testing waters anyway. SW indigenes are very tolerant when it comes to religion, they should not poke into their affairs. 112 Likes 11 Shares |

It was rejected because: 1. SW contains states with many religious groups. The implementation of Sharia law will exacerbate existing tensions between these groups. For instance, non-muslims who eats food openly were dealt with in the northern part of Nigeria during fasting period without recourse to the supremacy of the constitution. 2. The region has undergone significant social change and modernization; we see the implementation of Sharia law as a more primitive and archaic system. Even Arab countries are finding ways to do away with its tenets and principles e .g Dubai 3. The Southwest region of Nigeria is one of the most economically developed areas of the country. Some individuals may view Sharia law as incompatible with modern economic development and Western-style education. 4. The implementation of Sharia law may create parallel legal systems, leading to confusion and potential conflicts between Islamic and secular laws. The brutal killing of Deborah is still fresh in our mind. 5. The rise of extremist groups like Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria has created concerns that Sharia law will be used to promote radical ideologies. 6. The Southwest region of Nigeria has a significant Christian population and a strong presence of traditional religions. So, we view Sharia law as incompatible with their beliefs and practices. 7. Sharia law is for the poor citizens. e. g. El-rufai daughter remains untouched and unpunished for wearing transparent clothes during the wedding ceremony as Hisbah duddenly became toothless. 110 Likes 10 Shares |

Ori gbogbo yin o pe. No be u go teach us about intolerance. Sharia has no jurisprudence in our Constitution. No tribe in the world is more tolerable in terms of religion than Yorubas. We hv different religions in every family or compound living harmoniously together. E ya werey 28 Likes 2 Shares |
