ENDSARS protests was a pan Nigerian youths movement to halt police brutality and extortion. It was a spontaneous reaction from the youths who felt enough was enough.

The action snowballed into calls for good governance which was lacking in the polity.

Unfortunately, their intentions were misconstrued and centrifugal forces set in to put paid their dream. In the process, over 70 defenseless protesters were gunned down under Sanwo Olu and Tinubu's watch who were major stakeholders in Lagos state government administration.

It's surprising some misguided elements attributed the protests to people of southeast extraction which you vehemently debunked.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has blamed the killings of young #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate on what he called “forces beyond our direct control.”

Soldiers deployed to the Tollgate following imposition of 24-hour curfew in the state had Tuesday night fired shots at the peaceful young protesters who had been protesting against police beutality at the Lekki Tollgate, killing unconfirmed number of them and injuring several others.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday morning, Sanwo-Olu described the tragic incident as “dark notes in our history,” and said he would make a state broadcast on the development.

I witnessed first hand the ENDSARS protests as a full grown adult. 1966 events were narrated to me and I also did my own research to understand what happened then.

The ENDSARS protests was never a “destroy Tinubu” or “destroy Yoruba” agenda you and your so called elders have turned it to be. It was a protest organized by the youth majority you are southerners to get the disbanding of the police unit called SARS. They came together in unison because that police unit had for many years tormented, exploited and extra killed many youths extra judicially.

The build up to the protest started when a young man named Kolade was shot dead by SARS operatives in either Ogun state or Oyo state, he was just returning from a football match before he was accosted, labeled a criminal and was killed while they were trying to illegally arrest him.

The straw that broke the camels back was that in Asaba, Delta state, barely few weeks after Kolade’s killing, SARS operatives chased “alleged yahoo boys” which led to an accident which involved school children.

ENDSARS was a movement started by Segalink a twitter activist that helped young people get justice against SARS operatives. It started years before 2020 ENDSARS protests.

Don’t come here to tell me that it was an end some people agenda because it was never that.
