Rivers State Supreme Court Case, The True Picture. by richmond500: 1:34pm On Feb 10
I have seen comments of people who do not understand the case, here is what happened.

Governor Fubara had withdrawn the case yesterday against Martins Amewhule and others, by this withdrawal, it shows that the appeal court judgement that Amaewhule is the authentic speaker still stands and Fubara was fined N2m.
You may want to ask why the governor withdraw the case? Ofcos everyone who has followed the case knows why but I won't talk on that.
Now there is another case in federal high court in Rivers state following the defection of the speakers, Supreme court has nothing to do with this case, cos the case today was about authentic speaker and not defection.
So in the coming days, expect the federal court to sack Amaewhule and his friends, and if this judgement happens, it automatically means the supreme court ruling will not be obeyed.

The case is far from over

So, by this your post, you confirm that the SC has authenticated Amaewhule as the true speaker. What if he calls for the governor's impeachment before his seat is declared vacant?

Do you believe that the Federal High Court in Rivers State will declare his seat vacant?

. According to what you quoted it means the case was withdraw by Fubara then the appeal court recognizing The speaker still stand

Then according to you another judgment is in the fed high court to determine whether their defection has affected them to be recognized as members of house of Assembly?

Politicos has blindfolded a lot of you guys and it makes many of you not to reason well, no wonder evil politicians continue to manipulate you guys

How can someone who is recognized as speaker to the supreme Court will still have a case to answer as to whether he defected or not

they are two different cases.
The supreme court didn't pass judgement but dismissed the case due to withdrawal from the first defendant.
The second case will come up in the coming days

STOP POSTING RUBBISH.

The appeal that was withdrawn had to do with the propriety of Fubara presenting the 2024 budget to the 4 man House of Assembly. The 2024 Budget expired on 31st December 2024 and there's a 2025 budget duely passed and currently being operated now in the state. The implication is that any issue based on the 2024 budget has been overtaken by events and is no longer a live issue. Such issues have become merely academic since that particular 2024 budget is no longer operative and has been replaced by the 2025 budget. Since courts in Nigeria do not deal with hypothetical or academic issues, the appeal serves no useful purpose and Fubara's lawyers who filed the appeal in the first place did the needful and withdrew it before it was dismissed.

I'm not taking it personal. I'm just advising him, that's what I do for people like him. I abuse Nigerian leaders too and you can confirm that with my comments here on nairaland but I don't go about making statements regarding their lives. The last time I cautioned a guy here who was talking saying that why did the assassin who shot at Trump miss his target and how Trump assassination would have stopped lots of things and the guy was saying all manner of things to me. What you people don't understand is when data breaches occur on sites like nairaland, lots of information are let out. Let's all be careful. #my2cent#
