TOPIC: Love, Lust, And Valentine's Day

Scripture:
"Jesus said to him, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment" Matthew 22: 37, 38

*Message*

Valentine's Day is usually deemed a day of love in different parts of the world. But considering the carnality a lot of folks have attached to it, it is always necessary to have conversations revolving around separating love and lust.

In the Bible, we saw a strong man, Samson, who was raised by God as a Deliverer of his people. Unfortunately, he was drawn by lust to a dangerous woman whom he thought he loved and ended up destroying his glorious destiny on the lap of an enemy whom he thought loved him (Judges chapter 13 - 16).

God is Love, and since we were created in His image and likeness, it follows that we are also creatures of love, created to love and receive love. We all have the innate desire to love (to give and show love to others), as well as to crave to receive love from others (to be shown love in return). This is a characteristic of a normal person created in God's image and likeness.

However, the error of many lies with where they go to seek love, and what they fall in love with. Hence, many are in problem today because they fall in love with dangerous persons and things that were designed by the evil devil to carry out his evil mission - to steal, to kill and destroy (John 10:10).

Problem arises when you fail to channel your love to the right One - the True Lover. You are configured to love God your Creator first and above any other, and to receive love from Him above anything else. When you are saturated with God's Love and you find pure fulfillment inside of Him alone, it guides how you give love to those around you, and you are directed to like only the things He permits (which won't be harmful to you)

You can explore love inside of God (which is what you are destined to do) through faith in Jesus Christ. As you embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, He sends a tangible Lover to your life - the Holy Spirit. As you grow in love with Him, He empowers you to keep attending to the business of love in the right way.

Stop seeking pleasure from sinful and harmful persons and places and things. They are polluted counterfeits of the original thing - that you enjoy pure pleasure in your relationship with the Lord Jesus. I'm inviting you into this peaceful life, as you surrender your life to Jesus today.

Nonsense celebration

Valentine Day has been misconstrued. Given different interpretation by the youths.

To them, it's a a day to have unfettered access to sex and sexism. A day booze flows freely, drinking to stupor and engage in aggressive sexism.

Young girls always fall prey to this madness because of wrong indoctrination that Valentine is pseudonym to sexism - where sex is freely traded and enjoyed.

Authorities should educate the youths dangers inherent in misinterpretation of Valentine's Day.

Lust is a terrible thing and sometimes it leads to the addiction called masturbation.

Love is an agape love, sacrificial and unconditional.
When you love somebody, you will not want hurt the person, you will treat the person as you would want others to treat you.

Don't put pressure on anybody to do something bad today.

Before you drink, make sure you are very careful, so that they will not use drink to perform their ungodly act or immoral act today.

Go home early, don't spend the night in another person house.

Today is just 24hrs, you still have many more years ahead of you.

Why use one day to destroy your given destine.

Be careful, tread gently, be cautious and be watchful.

Love and lust can never corelate.

Sex can never substitute love, sex is only a means of procreation and expression of love
in the security of marriage.

Any sex outside marriage is purely lust.

My own advice is that people should celebrate responsibly. Valentine's day is not a day of fuckery. We don't want to be seeing ugly sights of aborted foetus everywhere as from next month.
That's the same way infections will spread massively this period.
