Does anyone here have experience using an inverter deep freezer or fridge? I know it's a relatively new technology in Nigeria, so not many people have used it yet. I’m considering buying one, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. While it consumes less power than regular freezers, some say it doesn’t last as long and can be difficult to repair when damaged. Most importantly, how is the cooling like. Does it stay cooled for long after power outage? If you’ve used one or know someone who has, please share your experience. I’d really appreciate your insights. Thanks! 15 Likes 2 Shares

They're good. Used Bona freezer and it works fine. Don't have to worry about grid light since its fully solar. Just it's a bit expensive... along the lines of 500k 22 Likes 2 Shares |

You can't compare inverter fridge/ freezer with normal ones. The inverter ones are better in an environment where you have constant light. Few hours without light will still give the right retention. But if it gets prolonged without light, it's dangerous as you will get spoilt items. A normal freezer might remain frozen and last for 48-72hours without light. While inverter without light is likely to be within 24 hours 17 Likes |

I'll advice you buy your normal freezers> dont let the hype get to you. The Inverters are currently like a crypto bubble and it'll bust one day when people realise its just another marketing gimick. You cant compare its efficiency to normal ones that have been tested and trusted over the years. instead use the money to buy better Haeir Thermocool that'll last you 15 Likes 1 Share |

Inverter Deep Freezer/Fridge Experience While inverter technology is relatively new in Nigeria, some users have shared their experiences with inverter deep freezers and fridges. Here's a balanced view of the pros and cons: Pros 1. Energy Efficiency: Inverter deep freezers and fridges consume significantly less power than regular appliances. 2. Cost-Effective: Reduced energy consumption leads to lower electricity bills. 3. Cooling Performance: Inverter technology provides faster cooling and better temperature control. Cons 1. Durability Concerns: Some users have reported shorter lifespans compared to traditional appliances. 2. Repair Challenges: Repairing inverter deep freezers and fridges can be difficult due to the complex technology involved. 3. Higher Upfront Cost: Inverter appliances are often more expensive than traditional ones. Cooling Performance After Power Outage Inverter deep freezers and fridges are designed to retain cooling for several hours after a power outage. However, the exact duration depends on various factors, including: 1. Appliance Quality: Better-quality inverter appliances tend to retain cooling longer. 2. Insulation and Door Seals: Proper insulation and door seals help maintain the cooling temperature. 3. *nitial Temperature: If the appliance is already at a low temperature when the power goes out, it will retain cooling longer. Conclusion Inverter deep freezers and fridges offer energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and improved cooling performance. However, concerns about durability and repair challenges should be considered. If you decide to purchase an inverter appliance, ensure you buy from a reputable brand and follow proper maintenance and usage guidelines. I have been using a non-inverter freezer for over 5 years now and never had issues with. I recently bought an inverter fridge, about to start using it next month. Hopefully I can learn from this topic. I did this because I want to go completely off-grid. I am using a 2.5kva inverter + 2pcs 220ah batteries. However, I bought a new 10kva + 15kwh lithium battery to add to it. Hence, i am having to go for solar friendly appliances. I have 1.5hp non-inverter ac. Can I connect this to my inverter set up and use only during sun peak hours? PLEASE I WILL APPRECIATE SOMEONE WITH SOLAR KNOWLEDGE TO ADVICE ON THIS PLAN OF MINE 11 Likes |

I heard of someone in Ogun State who bought 3 solar deep freezers due to an epileptic power supply. Now those freezers are not in use. Am not sure of the brand she bought. I suggest anyone who has a reliable solar freezer should tell us the brand, how long it's been in use, and how the freezer is loaded, is it packed to full or loaded sparingly? It is used for business or home use? 2 Likes |

Yes, it's very worth it. The problem with inverter appliances is that they are usually more expensive to purchase. After that, they give you value for your money, and even help you save money. Just ensure you have surge protectors for all of them. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

I WILL STRONGLY ADVICE PEOPLE TO STAY OFF INVERTER FRIDGE OR FREEZER AND EVEN THE AIR CONDITIONER. I HAVE TWO INVERTER AC'S AND A SAMSUNG AC, I CAN CONFIDENTLY TELL U GUYS THAT THE SAMSUNG AC FREEZES FASTER THAN THE INVERTER ONES 3 Likes |

It is better you buy thermocool inverter freezer and buy inverter setup to power it. Normal inverter freezers are not reliable or durable. 3 Likes |

I use thermocool inverter freezer, I have 2 planing to replace one more . It's the best thing for all band A users . I am not sure it saves up to 70% electricity but maybe 50% or 55%. 8 Likes |

For something to cool very fast and very well, heat gain must equal heat loss It must consume enough heat to equal the cooling effect you desire. Even with inverter AC, the cooling can’t be compared with Non inverter AC. Non inverter AC cools very well like very chilly more than inverter. The only advantage of inverter over non inverter is that inverter runs on low voltage while non inverter requires stable voltage to perform at desired temperature 6 Likes |

Bought an LG side by side inverter fridge from Fouani in 2023. The panel got damaged in November 2024. (Thankfully, it was still under warranty). The technician claimed it was due to unstable power in the estate. Took LG 7 weeks to replace the faulty panel. So, customer experience wasn't a pleasant one. Asides this, mine works perfectly: low power consumption, retains coolness (my food remained frozen for up to 3 days after the panel went bad). Would I recommend? Absolutely!! Just get a solid fridge guard as power fluctuations seem to shorten the life span of those inverter panels. 8 Likes |
