if you're under Band A electricity, make sure all your appliances are inverter, if you mistakenly by the conventional appliances under Band A, you go too cry ooo cheesy

imagine spending nothing less than 100k monthly on electricity alone cox you have conventional AC, fridge, freezer, fan, and co...
100k is cheap?

cheap keh, it's much and that's least depends on your appliances..

you can spend more than that if you're using too many conventional appliances...

They're good. Used Bona freezer and it works fine.
Don't have to worry about grid light since its fully solar. Just it's a bit expensive... along the lines of 500k
I saw a medium size chiller for N900k Its not cheap

You can't compare inverter fridge/ freezer with normal ones.
The inverter ones are better in an environment where you have constant light. Few hours without light will still give the right retention. But if it gets prolonged without light, it's dangerous as you will get spoilt items. A normal freezer might remain frozen and last for 48-72hours without light. While inverter without light is likely to be within 24 hours

for real? Why is this so. Is it that the inverter freezers do not freeze as good as the regular once?

I use thermocool inverter freezer, I have 2 planing to replace one more .

It's the best thing for all band A users .

I am not sure it saves up to 70% electricity but maybe 50% or 55%.

Nice. do they freeze very well and retain the freeze for long?

Put in some packaged ice block to support ice retention when there's prolonged power cut.

The point is that inverter freezers consumes less electricity but doesn't form as much ice as the conventional ones.

It depends. If power supply is constant, inverter AC's are way better than conventional ones.
I can afford to run my inverter AC for 24 hours without bothering about power consumption.
(20°, fan speed at 2) keeps the ambience just fine.

This looks like insulation issue not inverter. These new freezers are poorly insulated.

Inverter ACs are only better than non-inverter ones when it comes to the cost of running them. Non-inverter are better in everything from performance, durability to maintainability. Generally, it's cost *2 to *3 to fix an inverter AC than the non-inverter ones.

I am band A user , light outtage isn't more than 3hours , it's still block before they bring light again .

Not sure if 3 hrs is enough for experiment I would love to see for 1 full day but nepa never take light that long for our estate

Have used inverter AC's for 3 years now. Haven't had to fix anything.
Used non-inverter for years too, didn't have to fix anything too.
Servicing has cost me the same for both inverter and non inverter.
But I definitely haven't had to spend the same amount on power consumption.

With non inverter, I turn off the unit when it gets really cold just to conserve energy.... with inverter I leave it on for as long as I want it to be on.

Does anyone here have experience using an inverter deep freezer or fridge? I know it's a relatively new technology in Nigeria, so not many people have used it yet.

I’m considering buying one, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. While it consumes less power than regular freezers, some say it doesn’t last as long and can be difficult to repair when damaged.

Most importantly, how is the cooling like. Does it stay cooled for long after power outage? If you’ve used one or know someone who has, please share your experience. I’d really appreciate your insights.

Thanks!

China is busy providing solutions to real life problems using brain power. Nigerians think they can pray away problems. grin What could we have done without China?
We will still be fasting and praying for the holy Spirit to touch the hearts of PHCN officials just for uninterrupted electricitygrin

They have low starting starting power and consumes less power as compare to other type of freezer. I personally use dc freezer myself. I am an active player in this field. I build Laptop powerbank, LiFePo4 battery pack and sell affordable power inverter solution for many years now

Really? 😲 Bought my 300l scanfrost inverter freezer early 2024 for 376k, at a time when the conventional type was about 350k, not sure the price difference is that much.

I'll advice you buy your normal freezers>

dont let the hype get to you. The Inverters are currently like a crypto bubble and it'll bust one day when people realise its just another marketing gimick.
You cant compare its efficiency to normal ones that have been tested and trusted over the years.

instead use the money to buy better Haeir Thermocool that'll last you

I think you are over thinking it. They are only called inverter this or that because they require less voltage to work. Some inverter AC work even when you have low voltage from NEPA.

Haeir thermorcool should have inverter freezers too

I have been using a non-inverter freezer for over 5 years now and never had issues with. I recently bought an inverter fridge, about to start using it next month. Hopefully I can learn from this topic. I did this because I want to go completely off-grid. I am using a 2.5kva inverter + 2pcs 220ah batteries. However, I bought a new 10kva + 15kwh lithium battery to add to it. Hence, i am having to go for solar friendly appliances.

I have 1.5hp non-inverter ac. Can I connect this to my inverter set up and use only during sun peak hours?

PLEASE I WILL APPRECIATE SOMEONE WITH SOLAR KNOWLEDGE TO ADVICE ON THIS PLAN OF MINE

Check the watt of your fridge and ac my fridge is not Inverta fridge but low power consuming American brand it work for my 5kw lithium battery
And the good thing about solar light under 2 hrs my fridge and freezer compartment is already frozen but if it’s Nepa light it will take 6hrs

Inverter fridges and freezers should, in theory, last longer than conventional models since their compressors run continuously rather than frequently switching on and off. This helps regulate the temperature more efficiently and reduces wear and tear.

However, it's important to choose a high-quality model rather than relying solely on the brand name. Even within the same brand, not all models are built to the same standard.

I got my mom a Scanfrost inverter fridge, 70% efficiency I think....and it works very well, freezes very well, stays chilled for long. It works very fine with the inverter/solar panels. I don't know about any other product, but this particular Scanfrost, it's great.
