People like this don't deserve a place in our polity?
This is incitement against your own institution, is she expecting the UN agency to order a sovereign entity?

Did the residents of her state report her for failure to have any meaningful impact on their lives? Did they report her to the UN for being just as useless as the rest of the politicians?

Only in Nigeria do politicians report injustice to outsiders when it impacts them but if a regular citizen should report them to those same outsiders, they would lock him or her up or worse.......My o my, how the tables have turned grin grin grin

This despicable behavior should be met with full clapback not only from the Senate but the presidency as well. the UN should not dictate to Nigeria on its Congressional bylaws and ethics!

Everything is not gragra na, Akpabio will be expected to explain himself in New York and they will definitely need the outcome of investigations into Natasha's allegations no matter the reason they say they suspended her. These people block their ears to reason and keep acting like crude apes. Nobody is saying he's guilty but sexual harassment is a very sensitive topic in the wider world that they don't joke with. If Akpabio really had an adviser who told him the truth and advised him on strategy, he would have opted for diplomacy instead of brute force but wetin concern me ? The king will have to dance nakéd in New York cool

Them dey talk about indiscipline and suspension this one dey talk about sexual assault!!!
Even Natasha herself don carve that topic comot from her prayers to them because it doesn't hold water!!.

Bye the way, what will the international this and that do aside from pleading and try to intervene on her behalf.
They have their jurisdiction and they can't come and tell our senate how to treat or discipline it's erring members PERIOD!!!

Why are we disturbing Akpabio.

Many us here supported President Trump to the skies even when over 26 women had accused Trump of sexual harassment and even rape. He even paid some to suppress the allegations, but we sang his praises and now some of us want to 'kill' Akpabio who might be innocent afterall.

UN should first investigate Trump smiley

What do you mean, in the face of obvious bias, and disregard for an elected senator representing a constituent of Nigeria among equal colleagues.

I'm my opinion, this move of hers is brilliant, she shouldn't stope there, she should make the world know the dumb move to weaponize in-house rules as against pursuit of Justice or the very least work place integrity. This is the exposure the presiding officer of the Senate needs in order to tackle sexual accusations in an acceptable way.

All you people taking side don't know the order of priorities even when it is glaring.

When she is done with this move, it will pay her especially if she is innocent and in the right, which if the Senate carried out a fair investigation which would have been done by now as the accused presiding officer steps aside.

She can then follow up with tabling the issue in the supreme court which has made an additional compromise judgement in addition to it's strings of misconstrued judgement against its citizens. Case in point being the Jackson case against the attacking and trespassing Herdsman. Imagine criminalizing self defense. WHAT A JOKE. So one person culture of trespassing should be made to override the peaceful existence of another. Time and time again this country sickens me. The revolution you brewing will meet you guys men, it will. This stealing of land, causing of artificial food insecurity and shedding blood to take over bonafide Nigerian properties will find you all, the the nth generation.

NIGERIA has proven it needs the shame, the global attention to showcase all its injustices and unethical practices so they can learn how to treat its citizens with respect.

Raise their temperature Natasha, so that they take their jobs and the representation educated Nigerians need seriously. So much so case of uneducated opinions just spells doom for the future of this country if unchecked.

So what if she accused falsely, is this how to handle it. So-called honorable acting so unprofessional. Your processes are skewed and need polishing and true intent to expose bias and prejudices. Act fair, that's all it needed, that's all. How hard can that be.

I suggest she writes to the EU, US and Saudi Arabia because this is a serious issue.

It is clear that this woman does not weigh her actions carefully before taking them.

1. There was a case of Akpabio holding her hand and showing her round his house and scratching her palm with his fingers. He then proposed to her in the presence of her husband that they could be coming there for "quality time". She said she didn't tell her husband the details nor report the incidence to the ethics committee. Mistake number 1.

2. She said when she visited Akpabio in his office to complain about her motion being stood down, Akpabio said as the chief presiding officer of the senate, he'd take care of her if she took care of him. She didn't report the incidence to the ethics committee. Mistake number 2.

3. On a routine day, she was re-allocated to a seat and she started quarreling when she refused to take her seat after she was told she could not speak from where she was. She said she was being silenced and was speaking for the Nigerian women. She could have simply moved to her new seat and made her contributions from there. Mistake number 3.

4. She answered a call from Brekete where she said the new seat they sent her to would hide her from the camera and she won't catch the eye of the senate president. That was a silly thing to say. Mistake number 4.

5. She went on Arise News and made claims of sexual harassment. That was her biggest mistake. She could have first made a report to the ethics committee and leaked it to the press. By doing a media appearance, she allowed those she was fighting prepare an ambush.

6. She then formally filed a petition against Akpabio on sexual harassment. It turned out to be improperly filed according to the senate red book, Order 40, sub 4. That exposed her as being unaware of parliamentary processes. Her colleagues ripped her petition to pieces. Mistake number 6.

7. Mistake number 7 was taking Akpabio to court over an infamous facebook post by Akpabio's aide where the aide said she wore transparent clothing and walked seductively in the senate. I am no fan of Akpabio, but he is not liable for what his aide wrote. His lawyers would argue correctly that he be excluded from the case.

8. Mistake number 8 was obtaining a court order to stop her probe. That could have given her ample opportunity to give cause to her conduct which could have allowed her cite the sexual assault issues and give evidence. By citing the cases, she could have put the ethics committee in trouble because their hands would have been tied.

9. Because she allowed her colleagues see the battle she was waging before sge waged them, they could prepare their counter-attacks.

10. I think going to the inter parliamentary union undermines her case. The IPU has no supervisory powers over Nigeria's senate and can do nothing to discipline Akpabio. What she'd accomplish is rubbishing and embarrassing Akpabio and her colleagues. Many of these people are already persona non gratae which makes her action self-defeating.

What she can do now is to take time out, listen to those who genuinely care about her and find a different tactic to fight this battle. She should forget about getting justice from this senate. My recommendation would be to file a formal petition in court or code of conduct tribunal against Akpabio and fight it till the end. Akpabio can be docked.

Good reasoning!!!
Natasha is not clean and can be docked as well!!!

From your analysis, tell me one thing she can prove beyond reasonable doubt?

It's very unfortunate bcoz her senatorial district would suffer from her insubordination.

Her aim is to tarnish Ajpabio's image and obviously she is doing that
She is seeking justice. How would Akpabio suspend her? Is he the one that elected her? Is like asking Tinubu to suspend a governor
