It's a beautiful project. The only downside of this project is the timing

at a time where akwa ibom to cross rivers is a deadly venture, Eleme Road is a death trap, Warri to benin something else, Imo to Anambra, PH to Imo is hell and so on and so forth, doing a project like this is a misplaced priority.

How many Nigerians will loose their lives on these highways before the coastal road is completed?. Assuming they focused on putting all federal highway in order, before venturing into the coastal raod, it would have been absolutely lovely

First there’s a difference between a federal road and a state road

Second, all federal roads are either undergoing repairs or contract evaluations so what next?

All the roads I mentioned are state roads

Undergoing repairs for how many years now? All the roads I mentioned have been bad for at least 4 to 5 years now

fixing of existing roads is also being prioritised. Keep your self abreast of developments and stop wailing uncontrollably.

It is a fantastic and much-needed infrastructure project. The socio-economic benefit of it, for Nigeria, will be immense.

SOLID PROJECT BUT NOT A PRIORITY AT ALL.... a highway through unproductive hinterlands while your productive epicenter are inaccessible.

ITS A PROJECT FOR POLITICAL PATRONAGE..... QED!!

Until now, those who are asking Fubara to obey rule of law have gone deaf, dumb and blind on the due process for award of this contract 😂

Concrete power pole within a few inches of a motorway where vehicles will be travelling at high speed doesn't seem clever.

God helps the occupants of any vehicle that runs into any of those poles.

When Peter Obi becomes the president he shoukd fix all the roads you listed. Tinubu wanted the coastal road so let him do that.

More roads are being repaired around the country today than at any other times in recent memory. However, every road cannot be fixed at the same time. And there has never been a period in the history of Nigeria when every single road was in good shape.

That will never happen, not least because every country has limited resources and there are other spending priorities beside roads.

The USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Saudi Arabi, South Korea, Japan etc all have their own bad roads, and people who use those roads in those countries also complain and are also frustrated and wonder why their governments are not fixing those roads.

That's just the reality.

And no country in the world stops building new roads because some existing bad roads have not been fixed.

At the time the now hugely important and expensive network of roads and bridges called '3rd Mainland bridge' in Lagos was constructed by Mr Babangida's government, Nigeria was poor and had even fewer good roads around the country than we have today.

Then, many people criticised the 3rd mainland bridge project for the same reason you are criticising the coastal road, claiming the money should be spent on fixing existing bad roads.

However, imagine if 3rd mainland bridge had not been built how near-impossible living in Lagos would be today.

Like the Babangida government, the current government is right to have an eye on the future. The coastal road is a game-changing road project for the Nigerian economy and its people.

There's never going to be a perfect time for such projects.
People campaigned against all major projects around the world.
In fact People were against the Golden gate bridge in San Francisco back then. Now it's the iconic symbol of the city.

There were bad roads all over Igboland killing people but you didn't complain when Buhari built 2nd Niger bridge for you.
Now that it will benefit South South, you and that experienced failure called Obi are opening your dirty mouths to talk nonsense.

This is nonsense. We don't elect people to just do what they want. We elect them to serve our needs.

That said, I am in support of the coastal road.

No matter the justifications .

It's currently inappropriate at this time .

Reasons .

There are many alternatives to that route yearning for attention.
There are many areas the funds could have been injected to make meaningful impact to Nigerians, e.g. Ajaokuta, Aladja steel, Expansion of two key Electricity Hydro power plants .

And many more .
