Wike Reacts To Governor Fubara Been Locked Out Of Budget Re-presentation by fergie001: 1:44pm On Mar 12
Wike: If you write a letter to the Assembly, won't you wait for a response? That's why I tell you sincerely, he is playing to the gallery. He has carried television people now let them say he went to the Assembly, you know it's wrong,

Can President now come and go to the National Assembly? Who does that?

Interviewer: Is that the best approach in locking him out of the Assembly?

Wike: It's a residence. He brought the Assembly Complex down. Assembly now sit in their residence. They have children and will tell them Governor is coming today and there will be lot of Security. You cannot just go and say "Open the Gate", that's nonsense, rubbish.

That's very commendable from the lawmakers, FUBARA you can't just seat and send letters to a whole speaker and his fellow members on social media.

The same Assembly members that gave the Governor a 48hours ultimatum to present the budget. Were they also expecting a reply from the governor after issuing ultimatum? The ultimatum meant they were in a hurry to receive the budget, the governor only expedited the process for them by not waiting for a reply.

Modified

Picture this scenario:
Gov. Fubara gets to the Assembly quarters, Speaker Amaewhule along with his colleagues steps out to receive him and after a brief chat, they agree on a more appropriate date for presentation of the budget. The RSHA gets applauded for the show of maturity. Rivers State wins.

This first and probably last tenure of this okpolo eyed governor might go down in history as one of the most turbulent...!

This goes to show the level of disconnection between the people being led and those they elected into office.

How can a governor be this ridiculed and insulted from day 1 in office?!! Why would an ex-governor still have a say or hand in what happens in his state even at the expense of the incumbent?!!

Nigeria is not ready for progress at all!

I think he is right on that, it actually looks like their resident, but they refuse to come and agree on a conducive environment or put a location.. You all should just calm down. What was Oga Fubara doing when he was locked up in Governments house, I am just curious.

Very sad folks.... Always very bitter when people stand against oppression. Smh

How on earth can a people so badly want a sitting governor to take orders from an Ex....

Hmm... I shake my head for this country whenever I think of what Wike is doing in Rivers through his proxies and nobody seems able to call him to order... Nobody is innocent though cos Fubara accepted a devil's gift and he turned around to call him bad..

There's no interest of the people in all of this.. And Wike is all about his ambition. Very soon they shall all go into oblivion

I think it's a weakness on the part of Wike to have fallen out so soon with his anointed godson. It says a lot about both his sense of character judgement and his overbearing attitude. This was why Atiku outwitted him twice in the PDP, despite wike being the sole financier of the party. No strategy, just garulousness.

Maybe this is part of the work that T-Pain gave him

obasanjonews:
Minister Wike clarifies that the initiative to build homes for judges is part of President Tinubu’s policy agenda, with his role focused on implementation.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has refuted allegations that constructing homes for judges in Abuja is intended to influence them for political advantage.

He stated that building homes for judges is not his initiative, but rather part of the welfare packages created by President Bola Tinubu to support judicial independence.

During a media chat on Wednesday, Wike clarified that the project was approved in the 2024 budget and emphasized that he is simply fulfilling his duty by implementing it.

Wike explained that Tinubu stated, "Where are the judges living? They lack homes and are therefore vulnerable to political manipulation. As a president who aims to ensure the independence of the judiciary, I believe judges must have their own residences."

"I am not the President; I consider myself fortunate to be appointed as a minister in this administration, tasked with implementing his policies. The President expressed his vision clearly and asked us to explore how we can bring it to fruition."

"Mr. President approved and submitted in the 2024 budget to the National Assembly a proposal for constructing quarters for judges and justices. This initiative aims to relocate judges from rental properties, where they reside among potential criminals."

"A policy that deserves commendation for Mr. President has been included in the 2024 budget, approved by the National Assembly, and signed into law by him. What's the issue? I'm just responsible for implementing it; go ahead and carry out this implementation."

"The Federal Executive Council approved the contract and all related aspects; it's not my policy. How can you blame me for implementing something that has been sanctioned by the Federal Government?"

Wike maintained that there is nothing inappropriate, even if it was his initiative to build homes for judges. He further noted that he had undertaken a similar project when serving as the governor of Rivers State.

The former governor of Rivers State expressed disappointment over the criticism this project received, particularly from legal professionals, rather than receiving praise.
