From chatgpt
According to the FIFA World Cup 2026 Preliminary Competition Regulations, if a player accumulates two yellow cards in separate matches during the World Cup qualifiers, they are automatically suspended for the following match.

It's important to note that these accumulated yellow cards carry over into the play-offs but do not extend into the World Cup finals or other future international matches.

Additionally, if a player receives a second yellow card within the same match, it results in a red card and immediate expulsion from the game. This leads to an automatic suspension for at least the next match, with the possibility of further sanctions depending on the severity of the offense.

These regulations are designed to promote fair play and maintain discipline throughout the qualification process.

.

Then South Africa has cheated. Let us all do d needful.

I thought it was Algeria or Zambia that notified FIFA about the Shehu incident

No one. FIFA herself notified the NFF via email before the match about Shehu's ineligibility. NFF excuse/defense was that the officer responsible for checking the federation's emails was indisposed at the time

Not even should he have been suspended against Lesotho, it should have been against Nigeria…cos after the second yellow against Zimbabwe the next game was against Nigeria, he still played in that game

He played Nigeria first before he got the second Yellow against Zimbabwe
Nigeria vs South Africa was matchday 3
South Africa vs Zimbabwe was matchday 4

There must be somebody here who knows somebody that know somebody that knows somebody in the NFF to make sure they file a complaint about this..

Kog45, shey you won't use one of your connects to get the matter to the NFF like this??

.

If we are d one to alert NFF to their responsibility den there is no need for technical department of NFF. They all must be sacked.

Don't forget to tag Amaju Pinnick.

They will also field him today against Benin Republic.

Not only Amaju Pinnick, let him tag "everybody and everyone" that is "tag-able".

South Africa must have found a loophole around the rule, cus I doubt they would get the info from FIFA and not act on it

opes:

FIFA would have made an announcement if he had breached the rule. No one reported Nigeria to FIFA when 3 points were deducted; It was FIFA itself that discovered the violation after previously notifying the NFF not to field Shehu in the match against Algeria but NFF ignored

FIFA is not infallible, na humans dey run the organization.

Also. the error could have been on the part of SAFA for all we know, as it happened with Abdullahi Shehu then.

This is what Amaju Pinnick, NFF president said about the issue then.

“To be fair to them, through out the qualifying series, official match documents didn’t even show that Shehu Abdullahi was on a yellow card. For instance, when we played Cameroon, Mikel, Moses and Balogun were put on notice that they had yellow cards.

“Team meetings were even held about how to handle their cards so they wouldn’t miss crucial games. Shehu Abdullahi was never in the mix. Shehu then received a yellow against Zambia in our penultimate game, two years after the Swaziland match.

“Another grave mistake then occurred. FIFA sent an email to the technical officer in charge, that Shehu Abdullahi was suspended for the Algeria match. In a twist of fate, that officer was in hospital, with a severe heart condition, battling for his life.

“The biggest knock to our system is the fact that his official correspondences should have been forwarded to more than one person. It wasn’t. We went into our last match not knowing about Fifa’s notice. Not acceptable, I agree, but these are the facts of the matter.

The incontrovertible truth is that Teboho Mokoena had two yellow cards from the World cup qualifiers against Benin Republic and Zimbabwe and should not have been fielded against Lesotho to serve the necessary one match suspension. Every other point is irrelevant.

It is primarily the responsibility of the individual football federations to take stock of cards accumulated and act accordingly.

In a global setting, as regards rights, it is easy to point out who is a Nigerian from a multitude.

So, because here in Nigeria, whoever has a family member or a friend at the top, automatically is above the law, that is what makes you think SA can avoid FIFA wrath because they have Motsepe? Dude please grin

Yusuff Alhassan been getting a lot of stick.. He has not been bad... His team are only 4 matches into the new MLS season... He is the 2nd highest rated player in his team currently...

Leave the boy alone. He is good and will do well for us...

He is poor quality has never been outstanding and by comparison to fat better players he should NEVER be in the SE.

Finally it's the MLS its not progression but the opposite, who leaves Europe in your 20's to go to USA unless you're mediocre.

Cc: TheSuperNerd, can you independently verify this?

I can verify that indeed we have a sound case. South Africa should be deducted 3 pts and the pts awarded to Lesotho same way we lost 3 for fielding Shehu vs Algeria for the 2018 WCQs.

South Africa is in trouble unless FIFA wanna turn a blind eye.

While we cook on the field, we must cook off it as well. SA MUST BE PUNISHED!!! LET THE NFF GET TO WORK.

They didn't let us off the hook with Shehu. We will not let them off the hook with this one.

CAR321. You have started a fire that will burn SA's WC hopes. That is 3 pts from downtown for us. BLOODY WELL DONE.🤝🏻🤝🏻
