I some how blame the complainant, how can she encourage and support a guy who is just getting to put life together in Canada to go for a car loan of about 20000 dollars, that's outrageous.
Is a very wrong financial decision.

I can't be a consigner to anybody debt, Nigerians have shown me not to. Most of the people I lent money while in Nigeria never paid back, the 1thousand dollar I first accumulated in the US from my first job, I lent it to a Nigerian brother with sweet story, and he started avoiding me and my family afterwards, and this person has done me one good before that I can never ignore him because I will never repay good things with evil. I have to let him know I'm not running after the 1k ,for him to stop avoiding him. But will not trying lending any money I cannot forget out again.

When a clergyman said that those who take loan from people don't plan to pay back, I felt he was wrong till I discovered that I am yet to recover about N250k from debtors.

As much as possible, never loan no one money. Give what you have no matter how little. You can hardly know the intention of people. From personal experience, when debtors have money paying the loan is not a priority.

Someone indebted to me asked me to take him to where they sell cow because he wants to marry.

I got to the house of another and I saw brand new air conditioning.

Another fixed his car with 550k yet he did not paid the money he promised to pay in 4 days. His rent is over a million.

I asked for my money from another and he told me that he didn't have enough to pay his tuition.

I knew one who got a check of N1 mill and sort his children school fees and didn't pay up until 9 years and 2 month.

I have one who has refused to pay about 60k yet has 2 children in private universities.

After a year of trying to recover money from one, he said he forgot he borrowed N50k
I can go on.

Human nature is largely selfish. For your peace of mind, learn to say NO to loaning, or helping people facilitate loan.

Anyone thats needs a loan to by a 20k car with 0 or bad credit is not serious.

Serious people get cars far less than that knowing its just a stop gap.

Interest rates are very high for people with no credit history.

I'm sure she was thinking with her heart. Else why would she co-sign for what she did not do for herself?

Any sensible woman will insist you marry her before she takes that risk for you. If he had married her both of them will owe the debt, nowhere to hide for him

A lot of people are like this, if you see the way they would be acting like they are going to die if you don't help them. One Goodness Daniel Jimoh is on this table, it's the audacity to block the helpers they desperately begged.

It's foolishness to go take loans on behalf of anybody.

Three things you can do.

1) Remove the account from your credit
Contact the credit bureaus in Canada, report the account as fraud. They may seek police report but most will remove it within 30 days. This is a normal occurrence. If they need police report, just complete the form simply as "fraudulent account." Don't add anything more. The reason is fraudulent account can mean many things from identity theft, to consigning for someone whose intent was to ghost and defraud you, which is your case. Once they remove the account, credit reports will block it from reporting.

2) Gangster move - repossess the car
Yes you have right to repossess it since you are on the loan. Work with a repossession company, repossess the car and park it in your garage. Tell them they have two options, sell the car and payoff the loan or refinance it alone.

3) Legal
Since you are the cosigner, you are still liable for the debt if they default and can be sued too. So, if you want to save yourself from that, file a lawsuit, provide evidence of them ghosting you and missed payments, which is causing you undue hardship. The judge will relieve you from the contract and send the lender a copy, or force him to return the car

If i say don’t help people, you’d say i am wicked.

I know how many times colleagues have come to me to be guarantor for one loan or the other, my answer is always “No”. I don’t even do loans, why should i stand for someone to get something I don’t indulge in.

This your info doesn’t really add up.
2. How can someone with a loaned car sell it. With what title the next owner going to register it?
2. What happened to the seller repossessing the car if he fails to make up with the payment.

But she said she had contacted several lawyers on the way out but it didn't work out. This ur options sounds
beautiful but may put her behind bars or even to a risk of deportation 🤔
