"...sold to institutional investors..."

I hope this is a misrepresentation of their thoughts.

That is how the NNPC (and govt agencies) tell blunt lies.
When did IPO become selling of shares to only institutional investors?
A corrupted govt and its agencies at work. They just want to sell the shares to themselves and cronies.

What are the positive sentiments for it?. I am neutral, tending towards being bearish sentimentally. But can change rapidly with more info and better understanding of the business & its managers.

Or Full offer
Chai!!
As hurtful as it may sound, I think there should be transparency in the dealings as well.....
Those guys have been hoarding info and hiding some details concerning the buy over...
Just yesterday or so, about 27.7% was done in Off Market Deals....
Why haven't anyone know about the purchase price per share till now??
... and they were looking at sealing the deal by May yet shareholders are still in the dark...

* Still not an advice for anyone to panic sell if already sitting in the bus and you picked high.
It may be a way to force them to follow rules and may eventually benefit minorities.

With these actions of theirs, it is not wise to remain with them as minority shareholders. Them go bend minority neck like tomorrow no dey.
They should conclude the deal as soon as possible.
I know say some senators get shares for wapco
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Sunrisepebble: 10:27am On Mar 28
The off market deal that was done was the transfer of shares between Davis Peak and AICL. It was announced in the corporate disclosure. So it seems the deal is still ongoing. They’re just raising transparency issues because perhaps some palms need to be greased

It may eventually be in favour of minority if they become transparent with the deals.
See PZ, they're carrying minority shareholders along and still allow them a say in each steps

Not saying it wasn't reported but they still needs to be more transparent and stop running such big deal as if it doesn't concern minority shareholders and the nation as well.
Let them operate openly and not in the dark behind curtains.

By now, they ought to have come up with detailed info about the buy over not some lump sum which they're using tactics to delay due to exchange fluctuations, then they can price so cheaply.
* Any amount below N100 na grave robber price for WAPCO.

I beg to disagree. I believe it is even better for minority shareholders. The pricing will be much better now that government has shown interest and shareholders voice will be treated better at agm. They will have to pay premium to take over the minority shares as the government see it now as depriving local part of ownership in the national/economic asset

I feel the minority buy may not happen. The government may insist on minority hold in the business to support local ownership or content in the business. China is not the kind of country you should allow to own such company 100% in nigeria. They could become threat to indigenous cement companies.

I share your opinion.
Is it now that the biz is looking promising that they want to take it away?
What about revenue generation for FG too? It will impact on the economy nah.
The 81% ownership needs to be reviewed self.
