apparently the logic that says tanimu should not be involved in super eagles conversation due to his team being in the third tier of English football does not apply to nwakali who also plays for a team in the same third tier of English football.
the idea of Nwakali is better than Nwakali himself

But wait
Russia is currently banned 🚫 from anything football by FIFA, we Playing against them won't that be another Disaster/ban or hammer from FIFA on our head?
they’ve only been banned from competitive football, they’ve been playing friendlies and they’ve been climbing high in the fifa ranking, no fear any ban

Eric Chelle is clearly not in absolute charge of the Squad selection list that prosecuted the WCQ matches.

It was the hands of Esau and the voice of Jacob.

The NFF and their Stooges, AE the technical advisor and other members of the cabal should clearly hands off the NT at all levels.

Any player who must make the NT list must be based on competency at all levels.

God fatherism must stop in Nigeria at all levels.

Coaches must be given a free hand to select their players.

They will take responsibility for their successes and failures 100 percent.
he is in charge, I’m sure he’ll make changes next time. He’s just meeting the players for the first time plus I’m sure AE and his assistant coaches have a hand in the selections

Yea, sorry I miss calculated.
BUT Hypothetical speaking, I may be correct;
If South Africa get deducted 3 points, they end up with 10points. If we get to beat them in our next fixture, we end up tallying equal with them on 10points each. If we can be able to win our remaining 3 matches convincingly with enough goals, we top the group.
It's all based on calculations.
Oh I get it. But the FIFA intervention is the only means of hope. And I doubt FIFA will do justice judging by how they are quiet about it.

Uche and Onyeka should be starting in that midfield
The same Papa Daniel and Aribo he didn't give a single minute
So why call them up
If you don't trust them to play
Uche and Onyeka? That name alone disqualifies them. That thing Politics has entered our football.

Due to our defence and midfield deficiency,3-5-2 remains our best formation.

I don't understand this unnecessary fuss about Iwobi.
Iwobi was deployed as a deep lying play maker in the last game, not even close to the attack. And he did impress in that role. He was also the only player besides Osimhen that pressed more that anyone in the pitch, dude was everywhere trying to recover ball possession in the two games and managed to make himself available on many occasions for passing options when the ball was recovered, what else do y'all want from Iwobi? Is he going to kill himself before y'all cut him some slack?

Someone else played number 10, but somehow you want to get Iwobi to take the blame.

It is attackers that played higher up the pitch that was supposed to get the goals that you're supposed to be concerned about not Iwobi.

That guy has played for the Super Eagles with his heart, just like Osimhen. He gives his 100% for the team every single time he plays.

Philosopher1979:

We need to evolve beyond 4 4 2 as soon as possible.
Then the 1994 set can be a stumbling block. It can be a psychological barrier.
It is as if we think we cannot achieve more than them. We seem to believe getting to the semi finals of the world cup or wining 3 successive editions of the nations cup is impossible. We are not thinking of achieving more than that generation. We see their achievements as the limit
. That is mythical, unscientific and very weird. It's as if we see getting to the second round of the world cup as mythical and impossible to surpass. One football commentator said nigeria getting to the final of the world cup was unrealistic. I'm happy morocco which does not do well in the nations cup proved us wrong.
The 94 set is a stumbling block and not an inspiration and this is the tragedy.
We need to make our history and forget about 94. We can do better.
There are psychological barriers that need to be broken. It's funny and sad.

At least victor osimhen and ademola lookman broke the barrier by winning african footballer of the year. Some people before osimhens time might believe we can't win african footballer of the year because the gods of 94 cannot be surparssed

Blame the media, ex players and the fans too, even where the Eagles have succeeded they keep downgrading their success, the Afcon 2013 winning team was dubbed a boring side and the coach called names, that team achieved what the 1994 team did including second round exit at the World Cup. This is why we keep finding it difficult to replicate such feat or even build more on it, the closest we have come again is getting to Afcon finals last year still we said it was a boring pattern of play and called the coach all sort of names. We need to stop living in denial and build on any success we achieve. We don’t have to like a coach before giving him his credit and due. Tangible Results must be criteria for defining true success and not entertaining football. The Moroccans didn’t get to the World Cup semis with entertaining football

We don't have midfield deficiencies..

It's the super eagles coaches for whatever reason year on year are refusing to play more than 2 midfielders at a time.
For whatever reason... that defies logic

It's annoying, we will be playing against players from Ashanti kotoko and our midfield will be overrun

I wish a journalist will ask the reason(s) for this anomaly someday

As fans I think we get too emotional following a loss. This same team won in Rwanda (a very difficult place to get a result), but drew (lost) at home in the dying minutes of added time.

Let us see what Chelle can cook. If we miss our of the world cup, it isn't his fault but the clowns in the NFF.

Rohr's scouting team did a great job. Chelle needs his own guys to do same. After AFCON, we can the assess Chelle's performance.

The coaches lacks tactics.I remember Westerhoff used only Sunday Oliseh in the middle during WC instructing Siasia, Amunike and Finidi to support Oliseh if we are losing possession and it works.

I think we are arrogant believing we can override smaller countries using formations that we lack players to execute it,now am beginning to understand Peseiro style of play during Afcon, prior to Afcon he was finding it difficult to get results reason why he drew Zimbabwe and Lesotho....He realized he lacked possessive midfielders and only way out is to have 3 man defenders with 5 players in the middle supporting the attack and defence.

Teslim Fatusi was not part of Japan 93 squad. He made it to Atlanta 96 though and he was not the only player from SW in that team

Yea the team held their own in Rwanda but looking at it critically, it was Osimhen individual brilliance that gave us the win.

It was the team collectivity cuz a well laid free kick from Lookman and also Chuckwueze little effort for the second goal.... against Zimbabwe it was yeoman assist from Aina....let us not put Osimhen in Rashidi Yekini situation.

Remember Ekong said eagles is not only about Osimhen, very heavy statement.

We need to appreciate them together, though Osimhen is the main man

Yea, I get you, I'm not putting Osimhen in that situation but speaking fact, we can choose to give the assist to Samuel for the 2nd goal but we know deep down Samuel intention was not a pass to Osimhen but just a clearance. What Ekong say and the reality is two different things.

Let's be frank our defense requires that kind of formation to not concede goals. And Iwobi needs to be moved higher up the pitch because paring him with a defensive midfielder instead of paring the defensive midfielder with a central midfielder kinda makes the work overwhelming for the defensive midfielder which happened to Wilfred the last time. His game would have been better if he had the complements of somebody like Onyedika or Uche, while allowing Iwobi to play in front of them.

Abandoning our defensive shape in a 352, for a diamond formation of 442 had never and will never suit us, unless we have a Ramos, Buffon and the likes in our back four,

That 442 had been more curses than blessings
