True...Nigerians are smart and intelligent and it shows outside its borders.

But if intelligence, hardwork, genuine smartness, etc need to be exported before it can show it's impact and then appreciated, then sth is wrong with the entity housing such potential intelligence in the first place.

Well, you don't need to agree to it.

How do you improve the IQs of persons when you don't get them acquainted with the requisite knowledge and proper orientation like it is being done in schools and communal associations at an earlier age.

Orientation is usually done to enable you accelerate your norms and attitude with the behavioural patterns and norms within a society you are within.

This occurs within our schools, workplace, clubs and associations, etc. These things affect the standard of living everywhere whichever way you look at it.

If you took the people currently residing in Nicon Town,Lekki and placed them in Alagbado, they will transform Alagbado to be similar to their former place of residence with significantly improved living conditions over time.

However, if you took the curent residents of Alagbado and placed them in Nicon Town, the place will become a glorified Oshodi or Alagbado with lower standards of living conditions over time.

This is clearly evident in places like Surulere, Aguda, FESTAC, Satellite Town, Apapa, Agbara Estate, etc. The influence of people with lower IQs decimated the conditions of living and infrastructure in those places to unimaginable levels.
So your argument is that hygiene attitude, lawlessness generally equates to low IQ?
Your argument also is that Africans who had no exposure to western education before colonization had basically low to zero IQ..
IQ is intelligence quotient.. not formal education related. And assuming but not conceding it is, which type of formal education? Western?

Nigerians outperform every race in the US. That should tell us something

Outperform every race ?

Kindly refer to my preceding post about the top decile and top 50th percentile (median IQ)

At the top decile
All races are almost the same
Negligible variance between them

A black man in a top dept in Cornell or MIT is just as hot as the Pakistani, Indian or Jewish person
And there is selection bias here too, because a lot of the Nigerians who live in the USA and are doing hot things are people who belong to that decile

The 50th percentile and the bottom quintile is where it lies
And that's where the wolf is sieved from the sheep

The bottom quintile of the Jewish population I'm sure will be almost at par, or slightly below our own 50th percentile

Let's stop the exaggeration and empty boastful talks

The US had been built by some other race before Nigerians flocking there going there for greener pastures.
Where do you put the Jews, Asians, Indians etc. that had been achieving back-to-back landmark success in US?

Are you going to argue against empirical fact? If you have a contrary data, I am interested

Good Morning my senior guyz in the house.

I need your knowledgeable opinion.

I have some units of MRS share. With the recent post on delisting. Is it advisable to sell?

Will the delisting have a negative impact on the share price?

We have growth stocks, we have quality stocks.

When a stock combines growth and quality features, the collaboration is going to be massive. That was what I told someone who wanted to sell Nahco at N10 after making over 100% profit.

With a Return on Invested Capital of 53%, gross margin of 61%, net margin of 24%, operating cash flow margin of 21% and Gross profit/Total asset of 70%, these are qualities of a quality stock.

Imagine what will happen if net margin improves from 24% to 35%

Don't under estimate how high a growth cum quality stock can fly

Most growth stocks are not quality stocks. And it is not all growth that creates value and wealth to shareholders. Oando shareholders can testify to this

My brother, if you look at it critically and analytically, we need to tell ourselves the truth sonthat we can make the necessary changes.

If majority of our people decide to cross a highway or expressway right under or within a 100 meters diameter of a pedestrian bridge and put themselves and drivers in harm's way, they can not be classified as people that have an average IQ.

They definitely have an IQ level below the average and will always make silly decisions most of the time.

Unfortunately even those with high IQs among the people will witness a decline in their quotient when they continue to interact with people that have IQs below the accepted average globally.

In a dysfunctional society leaders with a high IQ will want their followers to have low IQ, they will compensate thugs, criminals etc with plum positions and wealth in other to frustrate people with an above normal IQ. In order to be in the good books of the leaders they will have to start behaving like people with a low IQ and moral standards

The leaders use this to perpetuate themselves in power, or to influence who will take over from them, they also weaken institutions in the society.

Please my brother, don't show a lack of history about Africa (I don't mean it in an abusive way).

Do you know that the Greeks who taught the Romans how to organise their society got their knowledge from Africa in places like Alexandria in Egypt and others where you have the Pyramids and great cities along the Nile that were advanced in agricultural practices?

Timbuktu and Mali which were homes to Mansa Musa (acclaimed by even the westerners to be one of the richest man that ever lived on earth); you also have cities like Benin in Nigeria that had a defensive wall longer than the great wall of China and the inhabitants were already using street lamps to illuminate the streets of their cities before the Europeans.

Our African societies were way ahead of many of those Western Societies we know today. Our people just lost it at some point and things went downhill for African societies.

The dark skinned people popularly called the Moors in those days were from Africa and they occupied and ruled places in Britain, Spain, Portugal, etc. They were vast in knowledge and esoteric things and taught the westerners most of what they know today.

Unfortunately Africans have been blind sighted to believe that they are inferior and their terrible behavioural patterns has not made things better for their societies.andnits people as well.

There was even an African from the Northern part around Libya who became Emperor of the Roman Empire and was domiciled in Britain at some point to protect the british people from the barbarians ravaging through Europe at that time.

This is not entirely correct. Most of them are traders. Do you understand that they are also part of the problem? They took advantage of our poor and collapsing manufacturing capacity by importing goods from outside the country, mostly substandard products from China. They contributed to the dollar crisis we are facing now.

So yes, they made money, but at the expense of the entire country. They mastered the art of clearing and importing goods for resale—nothing spectacular if you ask me.

Only a few ventured into manufacturing and the sophisticated repair of machine parts.

@bolded..very correct.
But unfortunately, it happens in Nigeria and the result is it doesn't bring out the best of that IQ guy in his domain of knowledge even though he makes millions.
(It could have been more)
He/she simply just does the basics at work just to survive and avoid breakdown and create other businesses by the side to augment pay.
A Divided attention.

In the end, rather than adding value from your area of strength, you just maintain status quo.

What I discovered amongst Most high IQ folks is they just seek the limit of what they can do while just being comfortable. They aren't looking for Billions or Millions.
(i may be wrong)
they just want to add value through their creative thoughts and practical skills whether as employees or employer.

But where the compensation is low, they build other businesses to survive.. Creating a divided attention

Other regions put prestige and value in their core staff at least.

I read about some brains, among them is just a university female student LUO about 27-28yrs then.
She and her smart group were given resources to use as they please and of course well-paid.

Goes to show that a tout is a tout
no matter where he or she is based

Once you grew up and were socialised in typical Nigerian dysfunction, you are already ruined
no matter where you move to

That's why Nigerians were arguing in our NIUK group that a driver license has more value than a masters degree
Or that eating smelly poundo and soup in public transport that is mostly enclosed is justified

Or how they rush to enter bus here instead of queueing

Africa is like an ashawo—everyone comes do do until they c***, walka.

The Arabs arrived during the time of our great-great-grandfathers and took control of lands across Africa, particularly in the North.

Then the Oyibo came with the slave trade, taking Africans to work on plantations. Later, they returned under the guise of Christianity, followed by oil exploration, the IMF, and other financial schemes.

Then China took over by mass-producing low-quality goods, destroying our local industries in the process.

How do you think China became rich? By exporting substandard goods to Africa. Now, they have reinvented themselves, producing high-quality goods and competing with the Oyibo. Ok nah.

The abroad that is turning your head, some of us willingly gave up living abroad because we just want to be home! Doctorate? Do you want people here to start showing you their certificates?
Please, be humble and stop derailing this thread!

USA2019:
"The mean national IQ of Nigeria is 67.80. See page 131 of Richard Lynn & David Becker (2019). The Intelligence of Nations. Ulster Institute for Social Research, London GB ISBN 9780993000157.

This mean IQ is very low and is even below the mean of 70 for sub-Saharan Africa.

Nations in North America and Western Europe have means from about 97 to 101. Japan, China, and N. Korea have means of about 105."

I think the issue about "anyhowness" in Nigeria (or the African society in general) is the lack of deterrence for wrong doing. The oyinbos (the suppossedly high IQ people) will be worse if you remove penalties for wrong doing from their societies.
My friend's bike was stolen in broad day light at a blind spot around his residence in Paris within a minute of leaving the bike.
The low IQ black man goes abroad and he is able function superbly among the whites.
