And all the other crimes that are not murder that earn life sentences should be killed because they are using taxpayer monies? The length of time they sit on death row is really one of the least of the concerns when it comes to justice.

I was very specific with mass murderers and not every crime

Did you see the article I posted? They are already halting sales to the US. The people who will suffer the doubled price are the consumers.

Chinese businesses are not like American businesses with shareholders demanding profit every quarter. They can take a hit while they amend their strategy. Huawei and ZTE were banned from the US. So did they die? Kaspersky has been banned. Has the company collapsed?

You are echoing trumps delusion - that the US is the only game in town.

Byd cars do not sell in US. Has that stopped their growth?
I never said China will go broke.Uts only a matter of time before other countries start shunning China because their trade practices dubious.
Don't know why you are harping on this instead of accepting basilico's position as the gospel truth.
What worries the EU president the most right now?
Chinese dumping their goods in Europe.
My point is made

EU is also tariffing China, Canada is also tariffing China why because they also want to protect their local industries otherwise China will kill their own production and flood their country with Chinese goods

If this continues the only countries China will be selling to will be those who are okay killing their local manufacturing and the ones like Africa that have no local production/manufacturing to protect

https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/artificial-intelligence/trump-reportedly-suspends-nvidia-h20-export-ban-plan-after-usd1-million-dinner-with-jensen-huang

The U.S. government has pulled back from its plan to block Nvidia's H20 HGX GPU exports to China, following a meeting between the U.S. President Donald Trump and Nvidia's chief executive Jensen Huang at a $1 million-a-head dinner. During the tête-à-tête Huang vowed to invest in domestic AI infrastructure, reports NPR. The Trump administration reportedly planned to ban sales of Nvidia's H20 HGX GPUs to China starting this week, but changed its mind.

The U.S. had spent months preparing new restrictions on shipments of H20 HGX GPUs — the highest-performing AI GPUs still permitted for sale in China — and those measures were set to take effect as early as this week, according to NPR, which cites two sources. The change in course followed a dinner at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, which Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang attended, reportedly at a $1 million admission fee. Shortly afterward, the company reportedly promised to pour more money into U.S.-based AI data centers, a move that helped ease concerns from the administration.

As it turns out, the Trump administration planned to ban shipments of Nvidia's H20 to China even ahead of May 15, when the Biden administration's AI Diffusion Rule is set to come into effect and prohibit sales of all American AI processors to Chinese entities. Under the new AI Diffusion Rule, China is effectively blocked from getting American processors as license exceptions that take into account limited performance or limited quantities will not apply to high-risk countries, including China.

that is all this is about. i wonder if trump can even put his money where his mouth is and tell magats to burn their chinese maga hats. if they could burn nikes they can burn hats

I wouldn't want to live without my phone and everything else that's been invented and developed since then.

Grok tells me the percentage of homeless people in the 50s was 6-10 times less than today.
Very few tent dwellers or people living in their cars .Someone can use similar examples to say life was better then on average though not luxurious.
You cant under estimate how much technology has made your life easier
Look at the life of your grandpa and compare to now. Your grandpa had to trek kilometers to get to the next village. About 100yrs ago most people didnt move beyond 10miles of where they were born because it was hard. Now you can be in New York in the morning and Tokyo by nightfall

Also think of the numerous diseases that would kill people easily in the 50s that have been eradicated now

Things as common now as hot shower or air conditioner were luxuries, Some times I wonder how people coped in the Summer heat or winter cold those days

There might be some aspects that would be better in the 50s but overall I think life is better now at least for me

As opposed to the Republican who are even much more white and led by a man who thinks Naij is a shithole country?

The well thought out targeted how has it worked out for their manufacturing jobs so far. You are playing a gentleman's game with a rogue like China. All the rules of engagement in international trade China throws it out and you end up losing. Its like fighting with a guy who rigged his rubber gloves with metal

That was what China has been doing to the US for the past 30yrs and we keep moving, shifting accommodating them more until now they literally hold every country by the balls

I can't imagine a fund manager not being able to figure this out after his first presidency.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-fund-managers-tariffs-b2730989.html

As President Donald Trump’s back-and-forth on trade policies creates chaos in the financial markets, some fund managers are questioning the rationality of his decisions.

“In the last few days, we have had many conversations with macro fund managers,” Tom Lee, the head of research at the financial analysis firm FSInsights, wrote on Wednesday morning, before Trump backed down from most of his tariffs on U.S. trading partners.

“And their concern is that the White House is not acting rationally, but rather on ideology. And some even fear that this may not even be ideology,” he added. “A few have quietly wondered if the President might be insane.”

I quoted him because if I said the same thing you’d be arguing with me until you are blue in the face.

It’s more likely you would accept it coming from him.

@bold so why do you think people had to fight bravely in that era? Was it because it wasn’t such a great time afterall and they had to fight for basic freedoms and humanity?

I won't argue. I disagree with Basilico many times; I disagree with Raum as well. What I said about the 50s is not about race; it is about our values overall, what we fight for, our mental state, and our health in General. A lot has changed to the point we are regressing

You’re right that the decline of American manufacturing started long before Biden, and no administration has fully solved it.

Many voters in the Rust Belt often support candidates who speak to their concerns, especially when they feel their needs are not being met. This is why Trump gained support in 2016. People hoped he would make a difference, but that didn’t happen. If his present administration continues in its chaotic direction, the next election might eventually lean towards another Democratic candidate promising change, no matter their past performance.

This cycle of hope followed by disappointment will continue to the demerit of the RustBelt voters searching for someone who will truly addresses their needs.

It's a sad cycle.

This is what a Democratic governor of Michigan said

Its easier for those who do not live in those states, those communities and do not see the frustration of the people you see daily to pontificate on why its bad to have fair trade and tariff China

Like someone like this talking down on HVAC jobs because she spent 200K getting her degree

I guess the Supreme Court is pro MS-13 and gangsters too, right Bemeruca?
How morally bankrupt do you have to be to defend the DOJ acknowledging to "mistakenly" snatching someone and sending them to a prison camp and then refusing to return him. A position that the Conservative Supreme Court wouldn't even defend.

Mistakenly snatching someone? Are you gonna lie to yourself again all the time?
Like I said, the mistake was that they sent him to the wrong country.
They can bring him back and deport him.

You're an amoral person capping for people who would ship you to El Salvador if you ever did come to the US.
I wonder if Stephen Miller thinks the Supreme Court is now the President of El Salvador.
It was also a 9-0 decision.

Lying about what happened doesn't change the fact you are always wrong about US legal issues.
Almost like someone who doesn't understand US laws because they have never stepped foot in the US.

Again you seem to struggle with the English language.

As defendants[Trump DOJ] acknowledge, they had no legal authority to arrest him, no justification to detain him, and no grounds to send him to El Salvador - let alone deliver him into one of the most dangerous prisons in the Western Hemisphere,

I'm never sure why you send so much time arguing about against the values of a country you don't even live in esp. that if by luck one day you were allowed to enter you would be an immigrant.
If you don't like due process and like the ability to extralegally remove someone, why don't you try to get into Russia, you're values don't align with the US.
