While we are at this discussion, I will add an experience I had at store of calcium carbonate filler.
I saw one of the workers filling the calcium carbonate with water in new paint buckets and asked him out of curiosity what it was for and he said that was what the customer told him to do. One matured person called it a term I can't recollect now and he said he uses ordinary water to complete the paints but this is a better idea he would use because those mad people don't like to pay.
I'm aware painters fill empty paint buckets with water together with real paints. Any used paint bucket of any brand could be gotten by them.
If you get the workmanship low, they would still find a way to make it up and often at the expense of quality or just at the client's expense in ways they don't know. This isn't about paint but everything in life in general.
We all know we work hard to get our monies. Even contractors here are someone else's client and it's not easy making money but pricing shouldn't be much lower than what we know ourselves is below standard and be happy we made good bargain. We live and let others live too within reasonable limit.
Lower prices definitely doesn't assure quality. Higher price with low quality simply means it should have been gotten lower and the person was cheated.

That the client price is low does not justify delivering a low quality service.
The customer reserves the right to negotiate a service to his affordability and if you,the contractor can't work the price,then it's statemanly to let off the deal.

Stop justifying what's wrong.Everyone who has worked on my projects is met online.A lot has delivered good job but the few(met on Nairaland) failed woefully.I only deal now with those who have visibility outside Nairaland

What should be next in the building phase to do?

My engineer suggest tiling should start, but want to check if anyone has any further ideas?


Also, a second question - I am looking to run inverter to give me opportunity to be offgrid if i choose to, will the wiring be different from the main house wiring or the electrician can leverage the same? any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

No sir but I could give you the number of a painter in ibadan. I understand that some painters mouth is already wide but this painter based in ibadan willingly gave a very reasonable charge than what the painter I sent from Lagos charged and his work was neat that I promised to be working with him even in Lagos.

Plumbing fittings and tiling should go hand in hand.

The wiring for solar is quite different and a little expensive. For a 10kw, you might send up to 500k to 700k for the wires .
