Love800: First, it is "I'm" or "I am a writer". Work a little more on that as a Writer that you say you are. You don't expect people to be engaged when you start off wrongly. Cheerios |

Glimpsetv: And in all things said in the Video he never mentioned one (1) goal or aim or ambition or yardstick to measure his definition of progress or “making it in life” as Nigerians popularly say. Is he referring to the long work hours and the Lagos Traffic situation ? The banks did not create Lagos the way it is. If work starts by 7:30 am unfortunately you have to be there by that time, and if it means waking up by 4:00 am, to be there, then it isn’t the Bank that caused that. When you close by 4:00 pm to the public and you have to stay back to balance cash accounts and call-over deposit slips to resolve issues , these are the things you signed up for in banking. If he is referring to other aspects of progress like Property, Investments, Standard of Living, etc, It would take me to see his income, financial habits and goals/aspirations for me to accept his claims in the video. What does he earn ? What does he spend on ? What does he intend to achieve that he hasn’t been able to achieve for 16 years? Or at least working towards achieving it? Has he explored other skills and side hustle/businesses for additional income /as extra income streams? When you work for an organization they use you. When you work for yourself, you use yourself too. You take solace in the fact that you now call the shots and you are building something for yourself. It takes dedication, grit, perseverance, belief and immense luck to do so. |

The man is telling the truth. Working as a junior staff member in a commercial bank in Nigeria can be akin to modern slavery, since junior staff, often on contract, can work for over 15 years without job security. |

QuinQ:we don't look what we've been through or go through. There are lots of people suffering silently, some are battling depression, yet it can't tell or show on their faces. Even hunger doesn't show on some people faces, that's how they are wired, it's genetics. |

omoredia:I've worked in a couple of Nigerian banks and fintech companies as software engineer and I don't even know why someone will be working for a single organization for a straight five years when you're not a stakeholder, more so, a job that's not fulfilling. The best way to increase your salary or find another purposeful career is to change your job. I see people that stay very long on jobs as unambitious and dull, like civil servants. Is it that they're too comfortable and decided to stay stagnant instead of moving to a better organization? 3 Likes |

DeOTR: It's two ways. There are always two ways to grow wealth. Spend more or learn to save more. Some people can earn less than someone else but they are masters of saving and getting a good deal from their purchases. So it's not only bigger salary that can help 1 Like |

GreaterFuture: Yes. I was earning around 150k like few years back. Do the Maths for 600%. Yes. I thought things were getting better, but what I have now is not giving me what the 150k was offering me back then. It's a pity. |

Adewale1603: Lie. Hunger and suffering will show on you. Genetics can't mask it. This guy looks fresh. He doesn't look like the average suffering Nigerian hustler you see on the streets of Lagos. He looks well taken care of. And young too - he must be in his 40's but looks 30's |

geoworldedu:Okay. I get that inflation part. It's just the 600% I wanted to know. You get a 600% salary increase /promotion?? In one leap? |
Re: "16 Years In Banking And Still Nothing To Show For It" — Banker Laments (video) by geoworldedu: 4:31pm On Apr 18 |
GreaterFuture:The nature of my job involved full time and part time. My full time salary increased because I got better job offer and my part time jobs increased too. Eventually I can boast of a 600% rise in my monthly income if I compare my earning now to that of 5 years back. But I fare better then than now because of this mad inflation. |

QuinQ:If you stay under bank AC 12 hours per day week in week out you will be fresh. If you have a fat parent, you will look chubby. But hunger does not care about you. It will humble your chubbiness and fresh face. |

QuinQ: So you mean there are no fat poor people. That's not true. I've seen many fat poor people in this life. Iya Shina was very fat in those days, but she was poor. Mama Chinanu too, during my childhood days, not to mention oga Alaba. |
Re: "16 Years In Banking And Still Nothing To Show For It" — Banker Laments (video) by QuinQ: 5:39pm On Apr 18 |
geoworldedu: What has poverty to do with fatness. In a place like US it is the poor that are usually fat and shapeless - from ignorantly eating junk crap. There are no fat STARVING people. Know the difference. See my photo above |

QuinQ:But because the guy who is looking chubby abs fresh is complaining, you said nobody can be like that and be suffering. I've seen handsome guys in ghettos o. Working under AC can make you look fresh o. |

Love800: Of course, you can do that too if that's what you want. But if you do do, only Nigerians may read the book unless it's an international publishing house. I checked Amazon, and most of the people who ordered my book are from the USA and Europe, though it could be because there are no native Amazon sites in Africa. I said so because someone contacted me from Malawi saying that he ordered my book. |
