1.Solve d simultaneous equationz usin the system of Matrix Inversion ....
10x1+3x2+6x3=76
4x1 + 5x3y=41
5x1+2x2 + 2x3 =5

2).
A renewable natural resources R will allow an estimated maximum consumtion rate of 200 million units per annum. Current annual usage is 6.5 million units. If d annual level of usage grows continually at an annual rate of 7.5%,will there be sufficient R to satisfy annual demand after

a)5 years b)10 years c)15 years and d)20 years ?

^lol, what is tough there? You have to understand that some folks use their mobiles and it takes time to type and post solutions. I'm a little busy too, I will check it out later and if the solution hasn't been posted, I will take out time to help.

Also check and make sure question 1 is correct esp equation 2 like 2nioshine suggested. I believe there is an error in question 1.

hmmm let try this...(x^4)-(1^4)..since1^4=1...simplifying further we have(x^2)^2-(1^2)^2..4rm laws of indices...aplying diff of 2square we have(x^2-1^2)(x^2+1^2)...stil aplying same principle we have(x-1)(x+1)(x^2+1)

Goodboy2012: 1.Solve d simultaneous equationz usin the system of Matrix Inversion ....
10x1+3x2+6x3=76
4x1 + 5x3 =41
5x1+2x2 + 2x3 = 5

I believe phy has corrected the error in your question and has also given you a solution to it by determinant method.

Below is the solution by inverse method:

10x1 + 3x2 + 6x3 = 76 ... Eqtn 1
4x1 + 5x3 = 41 ....Eqtn 2
5x1 + 2x2 +2x3 = 5 ....Eqtn 3

Writing the above given system as a single matrix equation gives:

[10 3 6] [ x1] [76]
[4 0 5] . [ x2] = [41]
[5 2 2] [ x3] [ 5 ]

^A^ ^F^ ^B^
If (F) represents the unknowns and (A) represents the matrix,

(A) . (F) = ( B )
F = ( B ) . A^(-1)
Where A^(-1) is the inverse of the Matrix (A).

The determinant of the Matrix (A) is:
|A| = = 10.(0 - 10) - 3(8 - 25) + 6(8 - 0)
|A| = -100 + 51 + 48
|A| = -1

Computing A^(-1) yields =>

[ -10 6 15 ]
[17 -10 -26 ].{1/|A|}
[ 8 -5 -12]

=>

[-10 6 15 ]
[ 17 -10 -26] . {1/-1}
[ 8 -5 -12]

[ 10 -6 -15 ]
[-17 10 26 ]
[ -8 5 12 ]

A^(-1) =
[ 10 -6 -15 ]
[-17 10 26 ]
[ -8 5 12 ]

F = ( B ) . A^(-1) =>

[76] [10 -6 -15]
[41] * [-17 10 26]
[ 5 ] [-8 2 12]

F = ( B ) . A^(-1) =>
[ 76(10) + 41(-6) + 5(-15) ]
[ 76(-17) + 41(10) + 5(26)]
[ 76(-8 ) + 41(5) + 5(12)]

F = ( B ) . A^(-1) =>

[ 760 - 246 - 75]
[-1292 + 410 + 130]
[ -608 + 205 + 60]

F = ( B ) . A^(-1) =>

[x1] [ 439 ]
[x2] = [- 752]
[x3] [-342 ]

Thus, x1 = 439, x2 = -752, x3 = -343

Hardfact: Who can factorize

(x^4) - 1 ?

Lemme expand 2nioshine's solution so you can understand better.

x^4 - 1
Can be written as:
(x^2)^2 - 1^2

Lets x^2 = P

P^2 - 1^2
Since a^2 - b^2 = (a - b)(a + b) - difference of two squares
P^2 - 1^2
= (P - 1)(P + 1)
Substituting P = x^2 yields:

= (x^2 - 1)(x^2 +1)
= (x^2 - 1^2)(x^2 +1)
Appylying the difference of two squares to (x^2 -1^2) gives : (x -1)(x + 1)

:. x^4 - 1 = (x -1)(x + 1)(x^2 +1)

House gurus help with this questions pls :

1. Prove that sec (x) cos (3x) - cos (2x) = -2sin^2 x

2. (a) Solve the simultaneous equation for the value(s) of x and y.

x + y = 3
x√(y) - 3y +1 = 0

(b) Find the value(s) of (x - y)

The equation should be S= UT + (1/2)AT^2 or S= UT + (AT^2)/2 for clarity. Pls find my solution below:

NB: Remember that t = time, it can not be negative, so you can play with the eqn.

BoboYekini: Lol. All I have seen here is some very pithy attempts at mathematics, in fact bordering on simple arithmetic. Let's have some hard-core simulation and pursuit theory.

If you are sure of your high level in maths, then solve the question posted as:

a + b + c = 8
a2 + b2 + c2 = 16
a3 + b3 + c3 = 64

Find a, b and c.

If you satisfy us, then we will go further and higher. Thanks in anticipation.

Let me tell you, I don't cut and paste solutions. I went the extra mile to use equation editor to type all the solutions I give because I want people to understand the solutions. I have made up my mind to help any Nigerian students to any length I can. If I can type it out, I will rather not post in here. If you have a prove of plagiarism, pls bring it forward. I am a professional and I am in an environment where plagiarism will never be supported.

Pls next time if you're inquisitive about how people do their stuffs ask questions rather than rushing to conclusions. If you approached me physically with this accusation in my terrain, I would have sued you for this. Pls always ask questions. I guess I should be using pidgin English in my solutions for you to know I went the extra mile to type it for clarity.
