I woke up early that morning. There were still sounds of snores around the hall as corpers were still asleep.

I needed to make amends for defiling the lord's day. I picked up my Gideon's free-not-to-be-sold bible and read some portions of the bible, said a simple prayer and headed to the bathroom. For the first time, I took my bath before the morning parade. I dressed up and waited patiently for the biggle.

Day 14 - Monday

The morning parade was conducted as usual. Announcements were made, the director of sports read out the new draws for football and volleyball competitions. We were playing platoon 5 the next day. There was a sigh of relief amongst the football team as they've earlier expressed their fears against playing platoon 10, which everyone was tipping to win the competition. It was obvious they had the best team in camp, with some of their players being rumoured to be professionals playing for some football academy already.

Other schedule of activities, including dance, drama competitions were announced. The best announcement was when we were informed that the local transport allowance (bicycle allowance) was ready and we should start collecting after the morning lectures.

I was surprised to see Ita at the morning parade. I was going to ask her and tease her about it later, but as soon as the parade ended, I saw her walking away with the same guy she was clutched with under the tree.

Chifawu walked up to me and we greeted. She informed me that the Talk-show she scheduled for me was going to take place that morning, before the lectures. I complained that she should have given me a longer notice, but she waved it aside, saying there was no notice for the RCCF talk show but that I did just fine.

After the morning parade, I went to the game centre to while away time. I played chess for some hours, waiting for the time chifawu would call me. I remembered Oge and her promised threat. I called her and we talked about it. She said she was still at her hostel ans that I should give her a call when I was ready for it. I had high spirit about it, but somehow, I wasn't really looking forward to it. I still thought about the rich curly and sexy hairs of Ita. I didn't feel like this for her before, I was sure it was the jealousy coming from the fact that someone else will be hitting those thick hairs surrounding her pubic.

The ugly one's call interrupted my thoughts.
"Come to the mami!" He yelled at me as soon as I picked the call. I looked at my watch, it was still 10:49 am.

"Isn't it too early to start drinking?" I asked him and he grinned at the other end. I knew that grin, he does it anytime he's doing something mischievous. What is he up to this time around.

"If you are fast enough, you won't miss what I want to show you!" He said as he hung up. Whatever it was the ugly one wanted to show me, he sounded as if I was going to be very interested in it. So I had to go. . .

Of course he was right. . .

It was an interesting development. . .

This last week of camp seemed to be phenomenon as I started noticing corpers hanging out in pairs, holding hands as they walked, crossing hands on the shoulders and waist. It was obvious that corp members were becoming more daring. Some innocent relationships that was started at the first week had blossomed to maturity and harvesting stage now. Those that were reluctant about relationships were being more open now, and owing to the fact that it was the last week of camp, most guys are beginning to earnestly seek for those adventures they heard about camp.
I started hearing rumours of corpers f'u'c'ki'ng at odd places and enclosures. I heard of wedding rings being picked up at odd places at early mornings and more.

So when the ugly one called me with what looked like an interesting news, I felt it was one of those odd stuffs happening in camp.

I walked to the joint where I knew he stayed most often. I saw him at his favourite table, seated with the two friends he made earlier on camp. He was more focused on something he was watching at the other end of the joint as he didn't notice when I joined them at the table. I followed his gaze, and at the extreme table, was Oge and one guy having a heart-to-heart conversation over breakfast.
I noticed it was a deep conversation as he held her hand which was on the table and they looked into each other's eyes as they talked.

I had a mixed feeling when I saw them. It was normal for girls to have many guys running around them at camp, the ratio of guys to available girls was already 3:1 so its a fight to the top. Also, I never talked about exclusive dating with Oge, we didn't even talk of dating. But I remembered her violent behaviour when I was with Jane. I remembered her storming out of us and staying angry for some time even after my explanation. And she had told me she was at the hostel when I called her. She even said she was yet to take her bath.

Now why would she lie!

I sat down and the ugly one looked at me.
"Isn't that the girl whose pix you always showed me when we had our wager?" He asked and I nodded.

"You don dump am?" He asked again and I started wondering where he was headed to with the question and answer session.

"We were not dating," I insisted, "we were just tidying, and I'm sure that guy is just a friend." I concluded, but an instinct inside me told my otherwise.

"Do you know how many times they've kissed here?" One of the friends asked. I was surprised at this revelation but played cool.

"I told you that N25 ice cream doesn't get you a girl," the ugly one was addressing me. "And I always said you were too soft." He insisted and we started argument about exclusive and non-exclusive dating and what is required.
Oge and the guy walked past, I was sure she didn't see us as she walked straight, holding the guy's hands.
I remained there with the ugly one and argued for sometime before Chifawu called me. It was time for the talk show and I left.

I didn't give much thought to the Oge incidence, there must be a simple explanation for it; although I wasn't going to ask her. . .

It didn't mean anything, not until I stepped out of the joint and saw Wangu walking into an opposite joint with a guy. . .

He was actually holding her waist as they walked into the restaurant. . .
