OsunOriginal:

You are too dull to engage in a debate... So, Buhari should contest for another office because Abraham Lincoln didnt contest for the same office each time he contested? But Ambraham Lincoln was contesting for the next higher office. Which other higher office would Buhari have contested for? Or are you suggesting he should contest for governorship or any other lower office since he didnt win presidency?

Why are these guys from SE this dull?
See how you jump from issue to issue? Finish the talk about desperation first. Was d lincoln part d only aspect of my write up your narrow mind was able to comprehend?

You think that quoting comments and insulting every commentator that disagrees with your point of reasoning the way you do will help your shaky, 'foundationless' and pathetically miserable positions? Hell no.

Back to topic: Buhari is a desperado, no dulling!

Here is the reason the corrupt PDP and other enemies of progress wish to maliciously discredit Buhari:

Buhari's new Government Recovers stolen Millions From Ex-Ministers

. .LAGOS, Nigeria, Jan. 20— Nigeria's military Government has recovered millions of dollars in currency hoarded by former officials and is trying to retrieve millions more smuggled out of the country, a member of the new regime says.

Brig. Tunde Idiagbon told reporters Thursday that the stockpiles of money ranged from $56,000 found at the home of former Vice President Alex Ekwueme, to $4.5 million at the residence of the last civilian governor of Kono State, Alhaji Sabo Bakin Zuwo.

General Buhari Meets Nigeria's Debt Obligations, Issues New Foreign Exchange Rules

Nigeria's Federal Military Government, which removed the civilian government of President Shagari in a coup on Dec. 31, has emphasized the importance of Nigeria's meeting its external payments obligations on time. International bankers were relieved when Nigeria paid the first installment of its rescheduled trade debt on time. General Buhari, the head of the supreme Military Council, announced his intention to keep Nigeria in OPEC and to continue discussions with the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and commercial lenders.

On Jan. 9 the Central Bank of Nigeria issued new controls on foreign exchange, effective from Jan. 1, 1984. The provisions of most interest to U.S. companies are as follows:

(1) Compulsory Advance Import Deposits

The following rates of compulsory advance deposits will continue in 1984:

Raw materials (except petroleum products) 10 percent

Spare parts 15 percent

Food (except rice) 50 percent

Medicines 50 percent

Building materials 50 percent

Capital goods 50 percent

Books (except single copies), periodicals 50 percent

Motor vehicles and trucks 200 percent

Motor cars 250 percent

Other 250 percent

All importers must pay the applicable rates when registering Form M, the Application for Approval of Foreign Exchange. The advance deposit is now applicable to all imports, whether or not they enjoy credit facilities of more than 180 days.

(2) Commissions

The commission payable to agents or confirming houses which act as intermediaries between importers and exporters has been reduced from a maximum of 4 percent to 2 percent of the f.o.b. value of the consignment.

(3) Technical/Management Service Fees

The existing allowable rate of 20 percent of net profits before taxes that may be remitted in foreign exchange will continue in 1984. However, payment of technical and management fees will not be allowed except in exceptionally deserving cases, such as for manufacturing companies where high technology is required.

(4) Consultancy Fees

The present 20 percent limit of consultancy fees payable in foreign exchange continues, but consultancy fees for feasibility or pre-feasibility studies will not be allowed because such studies may be performed locally.

(5) Travel Allowances

The Basic Travel Allowance will be N100 ($135) per year per person. The foreign exchange allowance for business travel has been suspended until further notice.

(6) Student Remittances

No foreign exchange will be made available to any new student. Students already studying abroad will be able to obtain foreign exchange to complete their studies.

dougivilla: You have facts in black and white against pdp leaders across many states, but not a single jpeg or monochrome document of evidence of performance of cpc in small nasarawa? Haba!!!

Your time is still counting pls!
It is overwhelmingly vivid for all and sundry to see that CPC has delivered far beyound expectations in Nasarawa State. Again, it will amount to dancing to the gallery buttressing on the achievements of Gov. Al-Makura in Nasarawa cause you belong to the doubting Thomases who have also been enundated by sheer greed, corruption and too economical with the TRUTH. If only you would be sincere to yourself, I advise you travel across the three senatorial zones in Nasarawa so as to get a first-hand view of things yourself cause that's what your glorified political party(PDP) seems to thrive on. No wonder the so called GOOD GOVERNANCE TOUR embarked upon recently by the FG, achieved nothing other than waiste of public resources and show of cheap and unnecessary popularity.

Mahatma Gandhi's biography must be translated into Hausa for Buhari to read, understand and learn what leadership entails before any sensible Nigerian should think of voting for him. Buhari is history, he had is time and he mis-used it. Please if GEJ isn't working let's look elsewhere...but not from the past!

Buhari's Tribunal jails Former Gov. Melford Okilo of Rivers State for 21 Years for having Foreign Bank Accounts

.LAGOS, Nigeria, June 9— Former Gov. Melford Okilo of Rivers State has been jailed for 21 years by a military tribunal for illegally holding bank accounts abroad, newspapers reported today.

The reports said that he had been given four concurrent 21-year sentences in a trial in Enugu rather than 84 years, as reported on television Friday.

The charges involved two bank accounts held in Britain and in the United States. It is illegal for a public official in Nigeria to have a foreign bank account.

GENERAL BUHARI LAUNCHES ALL-OUT DRIVE AGAINST CORRUPTION.

After months of indecision the military rulers of Nigeria have launched a major crack-down on corruption and indiscipline. Decrees have been issued by the government of Major General Mohammed Buhari curbing the country's press and threatening with jail any adult Nigerian who has held foreign currency over the past five years.

The government of the oil-rich country of 80 to 100 million people, has announced a campaign against disorderliness, inefficiency, sloth and disregard for hard work.

It has also empanelled military tribunals to try deposed civilian office holders accused of corruption. The campaign seems to have achieved an initial degree of popular acceptance but there has been widespread criticism of the military tribunals holding hearings in secret.

Are there no more men in Nigeria that the best we can offer in APC is to even suggest a 70 something year old man. I am sorry for this generation if any youth will as much as suggest this tall one Buhari who cannot make a coherent speech. We will be damned to allow this mess.

You should be sorry for yourself.....

Read the story of Moses in Exodus 4 v 10 wherein he complained that he was of slow speech and cant make 'coherent' speeches

If you have been born around 1993 and not an infant.....you will know that Bashorun MKO Abiola who was successful in all ramifications was also a stammerer and was voted for overwhelmingly by Nigerians

Even if mother nature forgives him and he survives tills 2015, I wouldn't encourage anybody to vote for him.

He loves power and have no mercy.

He don't care if we all get burnt provided he regains Power.

Everybody in politics likes power, if you dont believe that you have my sympathy. I like the no mercy nature of Buhari. There has to be retribution against occultic looters of our treasury. It is going to happen soon believe it but better it is from Buhari than a younger angrier group of radicals.
