chris51: As a Nairalander, I'll tell you the truth. Don't try Premier. I have a close friend who was on it & I was on Leadway Pensure. We both put in 30+ of service. When we retired the gratuity I got from Leadway doubles the one my friend got from Premier. My monthly pension is a lot more than that of my friend on Premier.
Another friend of ours on Sigma got almost what I got on Leadway. I have friends who had good returns on IBTC too. You can't go wrong with Leadway, Sigma or IBTC

My brother, Pensions Alliance Limited (PAL Pensions) has outstanding service delivery and competitive returns RSA. They will alart you as soon as your employer remits your retirement savings contribution to them and even when they didn't, you will know because they will notify you. They will tell you the vital documents you must not misplace and how to safeguide them so that you wouldn't have problem in accessing your savings after retirement. I used Trust Fund pension but na rubbish. I planned to move my account to IBTC but they kept telling me the govt. has not sanctioned movement of Account. I may haave to open another account with IBTC if they refuse to transfer my account.

You can only open another RSA with another PFA when you must have closed the former one. What the Pension Fund Act 2004 says is that you can move from one PFA to another if you are not satisfied with any of the PFAs service, BUT you must not operate two RSAs. If you do you will have problem accessing your retirement benefit.

All I can tell you is that LEADWAY PENSURE is very okay (for me). Presently their unit price has appreciated to N1.8636. Also, they usually send my account statement quarterly.

The bolded statement is a gigantic lie!!!!! shocked shocked shocked Section 59 of National Pension Commission (PENCOM) provides that an employee under the contributory pension scheme to transfer his Retirement Savings Account (RSA) to any of the registered PFAs when he deems fit. It reads: “Upon the request of an employee, transfer the retirement savings account promptly to any pension fund administrator.”

It is provided in the Act but is not currently possible to effect.

As long as it is provided in the act the employee has a right to request transfer and the PFA should do it else he will sue. Except they are doing it on purpose cos they dont want to loose a customer.... thats total crap!!!!! angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry

Gone are the days when Nigerians are intimidated at will. If the said current PFA declines a request for an account transfer (to another PFA), then going to court will be the best bet.

i DEY USE TRUSTFUND AND THERE IS NOTHING BAD WITH IT THEY GIVE ARREARS EVEN IBTC MEMBERS THEY ENVY US WEY DEY TRUSTFUND!!!!!!

Stanbic IBTC all the way,my dad used it and after retirement it was hitch free, thos that know the real deal go with this pfa

Although it is in the PENCOM Act, Govt has suspended the ability to "port" until further notice. U wan take FGN to court?

This is a very serious issue because it's a lifetime matter-pension. What most of us use to analyse these PFA is there 'packaging' which does not translate to their performance in the capital market. In choosing a PFA, you need to consider the way they are responding to issues and how they resolve them. How is their customer relation? Do they advise their retirees (clients) right?
Trustfund is recently rated the best with 57% ROI. So, where is our famous IBTC and Crusader that had N1.62 per unit price in 2010?
So, look before you leap.

Please,this is my own experience on the stanbic/ibtc pension scheme-My mum was using it while working in Nigeria(warri,precisely)as a nurse,she had cause to move to the UK,unexpectedly and she is still there.Last year,.she decided to process the funds in the pension account recently to fund a project here in Nigeria(I am her next-of-kin) and we have gone to hell and back just to get her money,the customer care assistants are terribly rude and cannot offer any assistance,my mother's former colleagues still using the scheme have identified my mother countless times(this is causing them to have a rethink),my mother has had to get a Notary in the UK to sign every single document before stanbic/ibtc acknowledges it costing us whole lot of money,even her bank here(where her salary account was) has written to stanbic/ibtc,informing them that my mother is the owner of the account from which they have been taking money ,no way o!!from mid last year,till now not a dime has come out o!!!!My dear,before you open any pension scheme account, ask how easy it will be to get the money when need for it arises because anything can happen,my mum is hale and hearty and can do all the running up and down,what if she was a very old woman and couldn't keep up with the endless customer care calls and posting of documents

THese pension people are thieves in my own opinion, I just opened one with rustfund now and with the negative reviews I see here , I doubt if I ll submit it to my employer
