R and V: Hi Everyone,

Anyone with Skin Problems and needs free advice or consultation?

I am an internationally trained esthetician with special focus on the needs and care of the Nigerian Skin. I love to help people with skin problems, because I have also had problems with reoccurring acne and some light dermatitis. I find that knowledge is what differentiates us from the western world, as such, I intend to educate people as much as I can on how to care for their skin. I aim to do this while praying for a better Nigeria

Beep me as soon as you can.

Cheers!

Pls doc, I need your help on skin problems:acne (chin, forehead, under nose), whiteheads, blackheads, face always get dry, rough and white after creaming but gets oily after few hours. And again, my skin color. some areas are light(chest, thigh, arm, legs etc) while some are dark(back, feet, forehead, elbow, knees etc), I seriously want an even tone, maybe a shade of lightening to the lightened areas and 3shades to the dark areas. I will happy if you can prescribe something effective that will eliminate the acne both in and out my system and an even tone. Thanks.

Great work R and V. I need your assisstance. I have this black spot on my arms and legs that has been for a very long time. I react to mosquito bites. Each bites leave me with a black spot that takes a longer time even years to fade. There is this particular one on my leg, i have done blood test where they recommend hydrocortisone and skineal, instead the other part will become lighter making the spot to be more visible. Thank you so much for your anticipated assisstance

Hi There,

Hydrocortisone and skineal are all steroidal products. I dont advice that you use these proudcts long term.

Try to get a fade cream for dark spots to lighten that area specifically. To hasten the process, you may accompany the lightening process with chemical peels, microdermabrasion or dermaroller treatments in a professional setting.

Hi There,

What kind of dermatitis is it? Is it in one location only? If it is, I suggest you try a series of chemical peels.

If it is not, then you may need to get a dermatitis cream for it.e.g BiON dermatitis cream Or any medicated cream with zinc in it.

You can send a picture to my email address opeyemi.omezie@gmail.com

R and V:

Hi Croport,

If I understand correctly, your skin concerns are as follows;
1. Reoccuring Acne
2. Dark spots as a result of the acne
3. Poor skin health as a result of use of fake products.

Now, to pick also on another point, most professional estheticians and medical personnel alike, would tell you to avoid the use of soap on your face, especially when you have skin problems. This is because soap changes the normal pH of the skin. More clearly, soap is basic, while the skin is failry acidic, if you use something basic on your face without neutralizing the effect of its basicity, you tend to compromise the skin's natural barrier. This leaves the skin open to all sorts of infection and compromise. As a caviat, I know some people still use soap and have beautiful skin, it all goes down to our genetic makeup, lipid barrier strength of the skin and a host of other factors. As such, if you are having problems with your skin, I would advice you stay away from soap (except ii has a pH of 5.5) and use a facial cleanser instead.

Now, it is also good that you do not use your body cream on your face as it might be too heavy for your already oily skin.

I would list a series of steps that I suggest you take, minding that I cannot see not feel the texture of your face.

1. Wash your face twice a day with a acne specific facial cleanser e.g Neutrogena oil free acne cleanser. Please do not scrub your face, but wash it lightly
2. Use a facial scrub twice a week
3. If you are a man, you may skip moisturising as most men find it strange, but it is quite good for a moist, clear skin. You can buy the oil of olay facial moisturiser specific for oily skin and use daily
4. Buy a 5% Benzoyl peroxide like oxy5 and dab only on the spots at night or Use Neo-Medrol, if they are located majorly around the chin area.
5. Have a Medicated-Anti-acne facial once a month to have all of the lesions extracted.
6. Have Facial peel done to remove all the dark pots on your face.
7. Try to drink at least 4 litres of water/day and some green tea for a system detoxification for the reoccuring acne

Trust this suffices for now.

Stay Beautiful, Stay Blessed.

Hi R&V, can you pls tell me how to have a facial peel done?

Hi There,

Happy New Year Everyone!

You can get acne products designated for the body. E.g Avon's body wash or Bion Antiacne body wash and Green Tea Clay Poultice

As per scars, get a scar reduction peel, plus a glycolic Cream to aid with deap exfoliation. You could also try Microdermabrasion, Chemical peels or dermaroller treatments to assist with speedy results.

This should solve the problem.

Kind REgards,

Hi There,

I'm sorry, that i am just replying to this. Just had a baby, and I have been really overwhelmed

Please stop using the hydrocortsone cream. As you know it is a strong steroid. It is good that you have not been using it consistently, but I suggest you try the agnesia powder instead. That should clear up all of the rashes.

Kind Regards,
