Dealing With Azoospermia? Let's Share Together. by Nobody: 11:24am On Oct 31, 2013 |
Hi all, I'm creating this thread for those of us who are TTC and have male fertility issues especially Azoospermia. I've been married for about 7 months, but it seems like forever especially with male fertility issue. Hearing the news for the first time was devastating. My hubby started taking various medications as he used to consume lots of alcohol before now. Right now, we are concentrating on herbs, with the prayer that God will have mercy on us and make it work for our God. If u have been blessed to scale this kind of hurdle, I would appreciate your contributions. Thanks and God bless us all. Amen. 1 Like |

Hmmmm, my sisters in the house I took a deep breath before I decided to write, my hubby has been diagnosed with low sperm count, very low ooo, this is our tenth year of ttc. now it has turned into azospermia, we have spent close to 5m looking for cure and trying virtually everything we have been advised to do, bee sting, herbal, medical and you name it. Waiting for the miracle is not my problem but God gives this children in abundant to some who have no means to cater for them, also to some who aborted them or throw them away. Isn't this sad? |

Thanks Honeypie24, I'll read through their posts On ttc. Olaitan, wow, sorry about that. The clinics we. Went to were just suggesting donor sperm and my husband wldnt hear of such. We r just praying God will do a miracle. Did they tell u the cause of the azoospermia? Since he had before. |
Re: Dealing With Azoospermia? Let's Share Together. by Beetle: 9:36pm On Oct 31, 2013 |
@ Tamitara, quite shocked at the clinic. Did they mention taking sperm surgically.like i said earlier, i know of many ladies who have gotten pregy even though their respective husbands were diagnosed with azoospermia. Have you had DNA Sperm Fragmentation test done, Karotype to check he has both the x and y chromosomes. Where do you live? What sort if herbs is he on? In between does your husband cycle? |

Male Hormone Levels Hormone to Test Normal Values What value means Testosterone 270-1100 ng/dl Testosterone production is stimulated by Leydig cells in the testicles. Low levels of testosterone combined with low FSH and LH are diagnostic of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. Free Testosterone .95-4.3 ng/dl % Free Testosterone .3% - 5% A normal male has about 2% free, unbound testosterone Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) 1-18 mIU/ml Basic hormone testing for males often only includes FSH and testosterone. Prolactin < 20 ng/ml A level two or three times that of normal may indicate a pituitary tumor, such as a prolactinoma, which may lead to decreased sperm production. Elevations can be treated with bromocriptine. Luteinizing Hormone (LH) 2-18 mIU/ml LH stimulates Leydig cells and production of testosterone. A problem with LH levels alone is rarely seen, so testing is only needed if testosterone level is abnormal. Estradiol (E2) 10-60 pg/ml Progesterone (P4) .3-1.2 ng/ml |

For Men, these are the most important ones, on a daily basis, take: Vary dosages according to severity of semen issues. For higher doses, take half morning and half evening. Remember it takes 3 months to make semen Zinc: 15mg -50mg Higher sperm count. If you take higher levels of zinc for more than a few weeks, add 1-3mg copper to prevent copper deficiency Vitamin C: 200mg - 1000mg Less clumping of sperm. Higher quantity (up to 140%) and better quality sperm Vitamin E: 400 IUIs -800 IUIs. Improves semen quality and motility by up to 2.5 times Vitamin D: Between 600 IUI - 1000 IUI Vitamin D3 is best form of the vitamin. Ensure that you also have taken Vitamin A and K (or have sufficient of these) to balance the Vitamin D. Improves sperm mobility and morphology. Not more than 4000 IUIs per day should be taken. Problems arise when you have too much vitamin D and too little vitamins A and K Vitamin B Complex: 1 per day - around the RDA for each component. Vitamin B12: 10-1000mcg Helps balance testosterone & LH/FSH secretions. Higher quantity (one study up from 20 to 100 million/ml on 1000mcg dose) L'Arginine: 200mg - 1000mg per day A natural Viagra - improves erectile function, Increases quantity of sperm (by up to 250%). Improves sperm motility & health. Avoid if you have herpes as can promote an outbreak Co Q10/ Co Enzyme Q10: 30mg-300mg Improves sperm motility Pyconogenol: 25mg-200mg Improves sperm morphology by up to 40% Selenium: 70mcg-200mcg Can double sperm count. Improves quality of sperm. Toxic in high doses so stick to max 200mcg L-Carnitine: 1g - 3g per day Improves sperm count. Improves sperm motility Vitamin A (take as part of a multivitamin) - Take RDA Improves sperm production Omega Oil/essential fatty acids: 1g - 7g per day (i.e. approximately 200mg - 1200mg ) Take a mix of flax seed oil and fish oil. Improves sperm count. Use body only fish oil as liver may contain mercury (i.e. not cod liver oil). Also Cod liver oil has too much vitamin A in it. Be careful not to take too much of this 3 Likes |

@Tami &Tara If you click on my user name and go through my post hopefully it will encourage you. I know how you feel. Pls, my sister, 7months is still early to jump into IVF with ICSI or Donor sperm. Trust in the LORD and allow HIM to direct your steps. All you need is GOD's revelation on what to do. Please, have your DH try pomegranate juice or fruit, Guava leaves and continue on Fertilaid for a while. Patience and endurance is the key. Do not accept that diagnosis for your DH, reject it and trust GOD. Remain blessed!! 1 Like |

@Tami read this testimony from Blendy77. I hope it will encourage you. Re: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 11:39am On Oct 31 My Sisters and Brothers, this thread has been so quiet of late. What's happening? where is everyone? I had an official assignment in the US and decided to travel with my boys. It was one wahala and sickness after the other. The last wahala was very high temperature the whole of last week which eventually turned into measles for one of the boys. To say it was frightening is the least as these boys hardly fall ill while here. Anyways we are back and the rashes is gradually clearing off. On return to naija over the weekend, I met this lovely lady that I just feel the urge to share her testimony just to encourage someone. I have asked her to come join us and share her story herself because we've had so many bad news of late and I know a lot of people are gradually giving up. But my Dears, there are times we give up on God and feel or assume we are facing the worse until we hear somebody else's story and thank God that at least ours isnt that bad. Ok this lady, let's call her Mrs XYZ. We were attracted to each other thru our babies, twins on my part and 2 sets of twins on her part. A colleague introduced us and we got gisting. And of course the whole gist was centered on twins, babies, twins.... Mrs XYZ told me how she did IVF 8 times in her 11 years of marriage and all were BFN. She travelled far and wide, from Bridge in Nigeria to South African's cape town fertility to UK and to the US totalling 8 procedures and all were negative. You can imagine what she must have gone through. She said she cried so much after a BFN in south africa that a woman she has never met before kept banging on her door and consoling her from outside (according to her, she said its like people in that area knew Cape town fertility patients always occupy that particular apartment so they are used to wailings when people get BFN). Hmmmmm, I can imagine. Mrs XYZ gave up and just decided to take a break for a while only for her to discover months later that she was pregnant without any ivf, drugs or procedure. As if that was not enough, she gave birth to a set of twins. A boy and a girl. Mrs XYZ's babies were not up to a year when she discovered she was pregnant again and this time around, she gave birth to another set of twins, 2 girls. My Sisters, you need to see goose pimples all over my body as I was hearing her and seeing the beautiful kids God decided to bless her with after 11yrs of marriage. She said, "my Dear, see me na, me too am discussing family planning cos my husband doesnt want to hear am pregnant again." Her kids are 2yrs+ for the first set while the 2nd set of twins is just 5m. I decided to share her story cos most of us must have doubted God at one time or the other. Even me, am a culprit after several failed ivf. I told Mrs XYZ that God must have really been laughing at us all those years we were crying and wailing after each failed ivf. He must have been saying, if only my children know what I have in store for them, they wont even waste their tears. Am still waiting for my new freind Mrs XYZ to come on board, cos I know our faith needs to be strenghtened seriously. God bless all waiting mothers in this house and give you all mind blowing testimonies IJN. Amen! (Quote) (Report) 2 Likes (Like) 5 Likes |

Thanks Loldar, the Lord will see us thru. Fertilaid has very good reviews so by God's grace, u will get wonderful results. Its so sad when Drs are so easy to suggest iui with donor sperm! Doesn't even seem like a big deal to them. The last one we went to, he was so freaking excited to get started. Lmao.its nt their fault. My prayer is to get supernatural conception that would shock even the Drs cos I'll make it a point of duty to call them up once I conceive. Amen. 1 Like |
