Do you think D n C
Postinor or gynaecoside can affect a woman's fertility?
The things that can affect her fertility include: blocked fallopian tubes(casued by infections) damaged uterus from accidents or poorly performed sugery(which or may not be DnC).
Pelvic inflammatory disease(PID)
Drugs or permanent contraceptives(not postinor)

Any party could be the culprit in infertility
But as the typical male, you want to shift the blame to the woman. If you don't know, low sperm count does AFFECT fertility. Don't brush it off as if it's nothing. It's a big deal.
And many men are hiding this cos of ego heaping the blame on their wives
We always hear of barren women but not barren men. Cos most of you are stereotyped to blame your wives when such happens

Jman06: There's difference between low sperm count and sterility. I think low sperm count is often exaggerated especially by women. A man whose sperm count is relatively low can still father a child if he has se.x with a fertile woman, except in few cases of sterility when the sperm count is abysmally low or there's no sperm at all. Sterility could result from undescended scrotum, damages to the testes due to accident or genetic disorders that lead to incomplete division of sperm cells. However, these cases are rare. In Nigeria today, what we consider as culprit for infertility is low sperm count which in many instances is a ploy to divert attention from the real cause of the problem. How about the so many premarital D and Cs? The ps 4 and ps 2s, the gynaecocids etc? The truth is that any healthy and well fed man who is not can impregnate a fertile woman. All these stories about low sperm count in most cases are larger than life. My advice to the men is that if your family doctor says that you are infertile, make sure you consult another doctor without the knowledge of your wife and family doctor to know the true state of your fertility because some women can do anything to put the blame for infertility on men.

Men and their superego. A man who is sterile most likely has azoospermia that is zero sperm count and some with low sperm count also have poor sperm motility and abnormal sperms( sperma with two heads, chromosomal aberration etc). Male factor is responsible for about 40% of infertility issues same with female factors while about about 20% do not have any traceable cause. It is good to know that every act of intimate enjoyment" has a risk of infections, for both man and woman, only a minute percentage manifest obvious symptoms, some disappear without any trace while some go on to silently destroy organs of reproduction. Men often feel too complacent to admit they have a problem because of the patriarchal nature of our society which apportions every blame of ill luck on to the woman. Many women have been killed, laid off their matrimonial homes or subject of intense emotional abuses because of infertility or inability to bear male children, often the fault of the male partners. This is a wake up call for men to own up to their problems so that early, effective and definitive solutions can be given to the problem of infertility

so long as u are having erection thats not much problem. even if the sperm count is low, all hope is not lost. if test has been conducted on ur wife and she is fit then there is hope so long as u have money. go to a teaching hospital with good facility for artificial insemination. I promise u u gonna have twins from ur seeds and ur wife egg. stop indulging in all sort of local medication as this may ruin ur situation more.

My advice:

1) have sexxx before marriage

2) have sexxxx before marriage

3) have sexxxx before marriage

Many impotent men go to church, pretending to be Christians in the hope of marrying a naive girl. Women shine your eyes. Just like some Men make it requirement for women to get pregnant before marriage, Women should also make a functioning pennnis a requirement.

sunky644: it may surprise u to hear that it wasn't the herbal product, dieting or "proviron " u took that did the "magic ". I will tell u that the success came the moment u identified the cause which was the laptop heating up ur testicles. the period u abstained from the risk factor was enough time for nature to reverse ur condition. u case was not due to infection or structural that's why. pls always visit ur doctor especially in a government hospital, if they lack facility, they will make appropriate referral. thanks

it's like truly we men are egocentric. Can't believe this thread is in the third page and not more than two(2) men owned up to be in this condition. Yet I know the extent of male infertility out there, God will deliver we men.
To the topic, I first knew that I was a victim of this health issue about three years ago and I could trace the root cause to my laptop. For about two consecutive years, I was addicted to playing Pro Evolution Soccer on my laptop for at about 6-8hours daily and this is done with the laptop on my laps. When I got married and after about six months of active sex life with my partner withdrawal no positive results then we got to know something was wrong and alas! the problem was on my part (2million sperm cells in 1ml, 70% motility and a bit watery semen). I was placed on Tarrivid (ofloxacin) to take care of the bacteria and Proviron (sperm booster) to boost the count. The result gotten after this was (2.5million cells in 1ml, 80% motility and slightly watery semen). I knew the problem was not solved with this so we resolved to alternative medicine. I got three (first is honey type, second is some herb extracted with water and third is plantain peal extracted with alcohol which was very colloidal or gelatinous) specially prepared medicine from a Medical Doctor who went for a short course in Phytomedicine and Tradomedicine in China or India.
Two months after taking this my wife got pregnant and we now ve a very beautiful girl. Now we are preparing for the second conception and I know it will be a success. Most of the things earlier mentioned here is What we are told to eat following my findings from the work of some researchers. Like taking carrots, walnuts, moringa tea and use leaf to cook vegetable or egusi as well as seed as food seasoning, Trevor drink, honey and onion combo.
Like someone said, let's avoid subjecting the testicles to any form of heat cos the sperm cells are proteins and proteins get easily denatured by heat. Also avoid tight pants and never place ur laptop on ur laps or close to your testicles.
I am a Nutritionist by training and will soon start my PhD degree in same field with special interest in infertility by trying the use of some herbs that could help in boosting sperm count, used as antibacterial especially staph and also pile treatment (as it can be a predisposing factor for male infertility). Will try as much as possible to keep following this thread and I want to urge us to move closer to God and never stop praying (prayer that moves mountains) cos with him all things are possible. God will put smile on the faces of the women here looking up to God for the fruit of the womb (Amen).

Infertility in men may be caused by a lot of issues which I am not going to start discussing since I am not a medical practicioner.
However, the following helps a lot in boosting sperm count and motility:
1. Avoid stress
2. Eat good food and vegetables
3. Take zinc supplement (very important)
4. Wear cool and comfy briefs, take cool showers
5. Have sex less often (it incrases semen volume)
6. Plan sex wit ur wife at ovulation after atleast 5days of abstinence so ur sperm volume and quality is improved

emotional: Do your hubby place lap-top upon his lap often? if he does then ask if he often feels vibration in his 'male-part' during and after browsing.
if YES let me know.
this might seems funny to some, but I tell u it almost ruin my life as a man.

The issue here is heat. Heat is not conducive to healthy sperm count, so having a laptop too close to your groin is not a good idea. The same goes for wearing briefs that are too tight. The groin area needs to breathe.

Why are you contradicting youself? You said that D n C and excessive use of abortive drugs does not affect female fertility only to start agreeing later in your post that they do. The truth is that the process of d n c causes injuries to the uterus which could lead to blockage of the fallopian tube or outright damage of the uterus/fallopian tube. Abortive drugs such as those mentioned work by inducing a contraction of the uterus and softening of the cervix to discharge the uterine content. And even a layman should know that when something is continually subjected to cotraction, the result is an outright destruction. We also know that the female cervix is a reservoir of disease causing micro organisms including the so called staph, which if not properly treated could lead to infertility in females. With all these facts, it's now clear who the chief culprit is in cases of marital infertility.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Infertility in men is really becoming a big issue and most men would rather live with it than talk about it. Why die in silence when you can benefit from others who have gone through ( and triumphed) male infertility?

Where can I get maca root? Am in lag. Thanks.

I heard you can only get maca from Nigeria @ amazon but DH is using pure MACA pills and it's pretty much the same thing.

You don't have to visit a doctor. Go to any good Lab and test for Semen analysis/Culture. That's the only way to know.

You really don't have to do any surgery. All you need is a change of lifestyle and supplements and natural sperm boosters. Will post a list of the supplements DH is taking with great results.

Male factor infertility is about 40% of d cause of infertility in general.yet this is grossly under-reported as most men have poor health seeking behaviour and are egotistical.modern reproductive technology offers a lot of hope but sadly its too expensive!for men with low sperm count and motility problem they could try Fertile Aid,Zinc tablets,Tamoxifen Tabs, and Vit E.There isn't a thing bigger than the ability of our God!cheers all
