I double as a musician and a researcher. I'm conducting a research to prove how studying sciences in a foreign language have distorted the minds of Africans and therefore is not allowing us learn sciences naturally. And this's why Africa cannot develop scientifically, technologically and therefore cannot industrialize. I know there are many Africans of various nationalities on this forum and I want you do me a little favour. I want you to name the below parts of the body in your native language. Languages such as Yoruba, Hausa, Swahili, Igbo, Zulu, e.t.c, any African language. You can be part of this research from any country in Africa as long as you can speak and write one African language, it doesn't matter what African country you come from. Also, if you have a friend or associate who speak and write any major native African language other than yours, please have them also name the body parts in their native dialects. I need to name the body parts in as many native African dialects as I can find for this research. I'm not saying you should print them. Simply look at the photos, and write them down as below. 1. Hair (.............) 2. Eyes (.............) 3. Ears (.............) 4. Nose (.............) 5. Chest (.............) 6. Stomach (.............) 7. Fingers (.............) 8. Knee (.............) 9. Toes (.............) 10. Head (.............) 11. Mouth (.............) 12. Shoulder (.............) 13. Arm (.............) 14. Hand (.............) 15. Leg (.............) 16. Foot (.............) ......................... 17. Cheek (.............) 18. Adam's apple (.............) 19. Breast (.............) 20. Umbilicus (.............) 21. Abdomen (.............) 22. Groin (.............) 23. Penis (.............) 24. Vagina (.............) 25. Thigh (.............) 26. Calf (.............) 27. Ankle (.............) 28. Forehead (.............) 29. Chin (.............) 30. Shoulder (.............) 31. Arm (.............) 32. Elbow (.............) 33. Forearm (.............) 34. Wrist (.............) If anybody had any doubts about the opening paragraph, the doubts will clear from their minds immediately they realize they cannot even afford to name all parts of their body in their own language. Thanks and I will wait for your answers. Again, see the pictures for more information. 4 Likes

husseinjnr: Man, you tried no be small! No wonda Yoruba Bible translations of various English versions present most accurate copies. Yoruba is very rich and deep in words, but the greatest concern is on the rate at which the present generation of Yoruba is substituting complex vocabularies of deeper meaning to the ones easily remembered and memorized and of simple meaning. Some Yoruba adages have psychological and scientific meanings. Maybe the OP and you can also do research on that. 34 Likes 4 Shares |
